Select a screen saver and set the Wait time to 60, 90 minutes etc. You may also need to click the Change power settings link on the Screen Saver Settings window and select Change plan settings located to the right of Balanced (recommended). Speakers not functioning properly Right-click the speaker icon located to the left of the clock on the Taskbar. Select Sounds then the Playback tab. Right-click on the Dell driver and select Disable. This will make the Realtek driver the default which is what you will require for sound. If only the Dell driver exist please call ITS at 6000. Using Cortana search Cortana search lets you search for Documents, Apps and the Web all from one location. Simple enter the desired text in the text box and Cortana starts searching for you. Select Apps, Documents or Web. 5

Select Printers & scanners from the left side bar and uncheck the Let Windows manage my default printer checkbox. Click the desired printer and click Manage then Set as default. 6
Making Adobe Acrobat the default PDF viewer From Start select Settings then Apps Default apps. Click the Choose default apps by file type link located at the bottom of the window. Scroll down the list until you find.pdf and choose Adobe Acrobat DC etc. on the right. Adding a virtual desktop In order to add a virtual desktop, click the Task View button on the taskbar, or by pressing the Windows Key + Tab. In the Task View pane, click New desktop to add a virtual desktop. If you have two or more desktops already open, the Add a desktop button will appear as a gray tile with a plus symbol. To switch between virtual desktops, open the Task View pane and click on the desktop you want to switch to. You can add an unlimited number of virtual desktops. Microsoft System Center The apps list contains the Microsoft System Center Software Center. Opening the Software Center allows you to install any software package(s) made available to you by ITS. Note: This process can take up to 30 minutes or more to complete depending on size of software package. Please do not work on or open any other documents or programs during this time. We recommend that you start this process when you anticipate not needing your computer to complete work. Important - Please save and close all work and restart your computer first. If you do not restart your computer, you may corrupt your hard drive and a loss of files and/or data can occur. 7
