This is high efficiency android application. This is used to find the details of the tourist place which the user wants to visit. This project is developed by using Java as front end and SQL as back end. Tamil Nadu Tourism E-Guide propose architecture of mobile tourist guide system for android mobile phones that is able to provide tourism information to the mobile users conveniently. It can realize to query information for various places and gives multi output and hence it has more practical significance. This project has salient features which reduces the complexity of the user. The android based tourist guide system is easy, efficient, quicker and flexible for all the needs of the tourist. Keywords: Location, GPS, Tourist I. INTRODUCTION Tamil Nadu Tourism E-Guide propose architecture of mobile tourist guide system for Android Mobile Phones that is able to provide tourism information to the mobile users conveniently. It can realize to query information for restaurant, bus stops, so on and gives multi output and hence it has more practical significance. The main idea behind the project is to develop an android application which will help tourists to find the better place at one instant. The long-time which tourists waste on searching for the better tourist spots like hill station, waterfall, beaches, etc. for their enjoyment in the new city which is totally unknown to them will get reduced, if they use this application. Hence this idea was very new and useful for all those who love to travel in a new city on a regular basis. The project is about tourist guide system how the tourist will get best use of the application according to his/her point of interest. The front of the application is Android. The android is the most powerful mobile operating system. Mostly 80% of the people are using android as their mobile operating system. So this application is more useful for the majority people of the world. Problem Statement A tourist needs modern technologies which can serves to them, so the android application should be easy to use and efficient to manage the travelling activities. They have to pay a part of amount of travelling budget to local guides and agents to get information. For solving the problem we are going to develop an android based mobile application which can help tourist to fulfil their wishes. Objective The main objective of the project is to develop an android application which can change the traditional technique of human guides by using printed maps and written information with the help of GPS. The users just install the application into their android mobile. The application has more unique features. II. LITERATURE SURVEY According to the paper smart travel guide the location independent systems have been detected as an important part. This system takes the advantage of light weighted mash up technology that can combine more than one data sources to create value added services. Another paper is android based city guide system it can be realized to create query information system for hotels, scenery, restaurants. All rights reserved by www.ijirst.org 112
III. OVERVIEW OF EXISTING SYSTEM The process of analysing the existing system is used to find the drawbacks of the existing system. The user interface experience is not satisfied in the existing system. The existing application has no functionality to highlight the related spots without specific search. Existing System The process of analyzing the existing system is used to find the drawbacks of the existing system. The user interface experience is not satisfied in the existing system. This following point are describing the existing system drawbacks: Individual application for particular city. Not so efficient in providing information. User friendly and ease of use. Full version of application are paid one. Finding the nearest hotel and hospital not possible. IV. PROPOSED SYSTEM The proposed system is used to improve the application as good and smart product. This proposed system overcomes the entire drawbacks of the existing system. The following details are explaining the proposed system: Major city details in a single application. The user can able to see the direction and duration for a particular place. Nearby restaurants can also be viewed. Highlights the tourist places on the way to destination. User can easily find what he want to visit. V. SYSTEM ARCHITECTURE Fig. 1: System Architecture All rights reserved by www.ijirst.org 113
System Architecture: This mobile application has no login modules, anyone can easily open the app and find the necessary places and its details such as description, photos, and distance. Main Screen VI. WORKING MODEL The home screen of the application where the overall categories of places are listed. The user can select the place according to his wish. Place Genreing It is a part of application which categorizes the tourist place based on the nature like hill stations, waterfalls etc. All the available places are arranged below the particular categorization. Distance & Direction Once the user have selected spot and clicked on Root Map button, it will direct to Google Map API which shows the source to destination distance and approximate time taken for the journey. GPS Global Positioning System technology will help user to locate the current location where they are standing at present. We present the design of android based tourist guide system. The system has been developed with much care that it is free of errors and at the same time, it is efficient and less time consuming. The important thing is that the system is robust. The entire system is documented and can be easily understood by the end users. The application developed has been designed and run to satisfy the requirements and needs of the organization as well as the end users. The system is a combination of Smart-phone and Internet to facilitate the tour of user. The entire system is secured. This online system will be approved and implemented soon.
