Executive Summary This deliverable reports on the work performed in WP3/T3.2 Communication, Stakeholder Engagement & Dissemination with respect to the design, development and actual deployment of the TransformingTransport Website to public use. Starting from the general Dissemination Strategy foreseen within the whole project, TransformingTransport website is identified as the main online presentation and dissemination tool, which is foreseen to serve the WP3 objectives by gradually evolving into a an information exchange and collaboration portal where stakeholders will actively participate and build ownership about TransformingTransport. The document moves on by giving an overview of the project website, its structure and its main features, both in terms of back-end and front-end. More specifically, it presents the Site Map and structure, presenting each section separately, it explains the way the content is organized in the various sections and refers to the technologies used. Then, it refers to the various social media tools and extensions that are used to support the objectives of the project communication strategy. The present document is also accompanied by a set of screenshots included in the Annex, for a more comprehensive visual presentation of the project Website. Page 6
1 TRANSFORMINGTRANSPORT Website 1.1 TRANSFORMINGTRANSPORT Dissemination Strategy WP3/T3.2 Communication, Stakeholder Engagement & Dissemination will deliver a pan- European dissemination campaign to promote the concept and results of TransformingTransport Website towards selected stakeholders and multipliers, such as public transport operators, associations, regional authorities, planning departments, transport experts, industry and research institutes. The work package includes an integrated set of products and services that increase information exchange among the project s target groups and broadly disseminate the project s research results. The main communication channel of TransformingTransport project will be the web site. 1.2 TRANSFORMINGTRANSPORT Website as a main tool of dissemination and communication TransformingTransport website will be the main communication tool for the dissemination and communication of information related to the project. The site will incorporate basic project information, key results, news items, event alerts, and it will also offer added-value services such as publications, newsletter, as well as signpost to related news, events and projects. What is more, the website is foreseen to be accessible and easy-to-use, empowered by social features to trigger communication among stakeholders, with special focus on transport and big data matters, with links to the project s social media, and/or other communication options, facilitating thus, the exchange of information amongst project partners, stakeholders and wider public. The site will be set up and maintained during the project implementation and at least two years after TransformingTransport completion. Page 7
2 TRANSFORMINGTRANSPORT Project Website 2.1 Overview The project website follows a person-centric approach meaning that it will be very user-focused. The more content there is about TransformingTransport project, partners activities, pilot applications and activities, as well as relative projects, the more interesting the project becomes to potential members. Therefore, the website will: 1. Provide an introduction to the concept and main characteristics of the project; 2. Provide information on partnership 3. Provide ability for partners to openly express themselves at a blog area. 4. Make all project results publicly available (Including all publications and findings); and 5. Post regular news items (in addition to the website, social networks will also be exploited as news feeds and dedicated discussion forums). 2.2 Main Features 2.2.1 Technical details o Domain: www.transformingtransportproject.eu o Servers/hosting: Linux based Apache 2.2 ; o Redundant servers supplied with diesel power generators in case of power failure; o High-speed Internet connection on symmetrical optical cable (SDSL); o Additional backup Internet connection; o Content Management System (CMS) type: Drupal (Content Management 1 ), Smarty based CMS website is made with CSS3, HTML5, PHP, MySQL and Smarty templates o Drupal 8: MySQL 5.5.3 - PDO and an InnoDB-compatible primary storage engine 2.2.2 Graphic design The overall graphic design of the website was aligned with the general visual identity of TransformingTransport, reflecting also the EC and H2020 branding. It is using the approved project logo and selected, high resolution images (purchased or received from partners), as well as the specific requirements from the EC regarding the H2020 projects dissemination and publicity (Project Disclaimer on bottom of the website). Moreover, the look and feel of the website has been carefully discussed with corporate internal professionals, who have ended up with the proposed schemes, which are obviously linked with the graphic identity of the project (logo). 1 http://www.drupal.org/ Page 8
Further, the website is fully responsive and follows all relevant W3C guidelines regarding accessibility, ensuring that it can be accessed by as many people as possible regardless of their capabilities and by as many devices as possible regardless of their screen resolution or other features. Last, a disclaimer is also provided (see below): Figure 1: Disclaimer on Webpage Footer 2.2.3 Filters Sections and sub-sections of TransformingTransport website will be tagged therefore content will be easily searchable, additionally filters will make overview easier when content accumulates throughout the course of the project. Different pages will be also optimized for search engines to provide high ranking on the search lists. 2.2.4 Site map The following diagram represents the mission statement of TransformingTransport Website, opening up to a portal which focuses on acting as a social single entry point where users can network and push dissemination information, at the same time. Information will be offered by many means and the necessary features incorporated, will support the information flow from one user to another, thus creating a network of social activity. The importance of social networking relates to the outcome of increasing traffic to the TransformingTransport website, as well as increasing awareness of the site purpose, scientific context and purpose of the project, as well as pilot applications and outcomes. This means that more people will become exposed to TransformingTransport, which means more users to create ownership about the key messages expressed by the project. The website has a simple structure. At a later stage of TransformingTransport further sections can be introduced. Example of the website menu structure is depicted below: Page 9

It will have three sub-sections namely project description, consortium members, and description of pilot studies (partners, pilot studies, project). 2.3.2 Services Best practices section will collect project results of TransformingTransport and other Resources section will provide useful links, press corner and publications library. 2.3.3 News and events The news sub-section will provide regular updates about TransformingTransport project, news from the world of ICT and mobility, related projects, EU research, etc. The events subsection will contain event alerts, and a database of past events in which TransformingTransport project partners attended and/or presented the project. 2.3.4 Blog Blog functionality is allowed to support the activity of updating a blog publishing concerns hot topics and ideas relevant to TT. 2.3.5 Contact Email contacts are allowed as support emails for all users that wish to both directly liaising with support (technical in case of need) or the communication related contacts. 2.4 Extensions, other tools 2.4.1 Google analytics The TransformingTransport website has already all Google Analytics services enabled, so as to completely monitor its visits, etc. 2.4.2 Social media The TransformingTransport website will include links to social media (Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn).
