3. Spine Installation Introduction The StandCrafted spine is designed to securely mount to any wall using 4 provided bolts, much like a home television. At the time of purchase, the buyer was presented with the option for hardware supporting drywall, wall studs, or masonry walls. StandCrafted provided the respective hardware for standard mounting options. Please see the packing list section for more details. If the wall is of an unusual construction, please seek the help of a professional installer to source mounting hardware (generally available at any hardware store). The spint mounting holes are ¼ diameter and are inset by approximately ⅜ to allow for bolts to be below flush level with the spine surface. The spine requires careful and sturdy mounting to ensure aesthetic placement on the wall, level installation, proper movement of modules, and ergonomically correct height for all users. If unsure about proper installation after review of this manual, StandCrafted recommends identifying a qualified professional to install the spine. Tools required Power drill (drywall & wall studs) Hammer drill (masonry) Phillips head bit for respective bolts ¼ hex bolt drill bit or wrench Construction level Fine point marking tool (pencil, pen, fine tip sharpie, etc.) ½ Drill bit (for drywall installation) ⅛ Drill bit (for wood stud installation) 5/16 Carbide drill bit (for masonry installation) Page 5

4. Monitor Assembly The monitor mount is designed to adhere to any VESA compatible monitor or monitor attachment (e.g., Apple Cinema Display / imac adapter). Monitors must have 4 rear mounting holes measuring 100mm x 100mm for successful mounting. All steps for assembly are described in the table below. Videos of the monitor assembly are also posted on YouTube. Please find our up to date links on our website standcrafted.com/support Step 1 Remove monitor stand (as necessary) Based on the unique monitor design, determin idea way to remove any stand currently connected to the monitor via VESA mount holes. Step 3 Determine screw type Four VESA mount screw (metric size 4M) are provided (both 20mm and 25mm lengths). Determine the proper screw length by beginning installation of the module to the monitor. Ensure the washer inserted on the screw before inserting through module hole. The screw should have enough room to comfortably tighten the module to the monitor. If both screws are too long (unlikely), you may need to procure 4 smaller screws (e.g. 4M 15mm) from a hardware supply. Step 2 Position monitor for module assembly Place monitor on a flat, soft surface to prevent scratching. Position 4 VESA mount holes on rear side of monitor to the install module Step 4 Secure module to monitor Ensure the rear slide is pointed the correct way to allow for the monitor to be upright as preferred by the user. Tighten all 4 screws securely. The monitor can now be installed on the spine. Page 8
The Minimalist, Modular, Wall-Mounted Standing Desk 5. Keyboard Assembly The keyboard module is designed to support several types of computer peripherals while maintaining comfortable ergonomics. In each design, the module holds a keyboard and some form of a mouse or trackpad. For all keyboard modules, there are 3 main components for connecting to the StandCrafted Spine: Vertical Component (and rear slide) Horizontal Component Keyboard / Mouse Platform All steps for keyboard module assembly are described in the table below. Videos of the assembly are also posted on YouTube. Please find our up to date links on our website standcrafted.com/support Step 1 Connect horizontal and vertical components Step 2 Connect vertical and keyboard components Using the pats marked vertical assembly in the parts list, connect both components together. The vertical component should be specifically oriented to slide from right to left into the spine. The horizontal component has no specific orientation. Using the pats marked r otational assembly in the parts list, slide the keyboard component into the horizontal component and carefully move the 8 threaded bolt through both parts. Secure the parts together by connecting wing nuts on each end. Tighten until the rotation stops. Step 3 Fine tune adjustments The keyboard is not meant for supporting the full weight of wrists. Position the keyboard at a height so that the user s hands rests comfortably on the keyboard without requiring downward force. The keyboard module slides in the spine at a user preferred height. The vertical component slots allow up/down granular height adjustment. The rotational assembly allows for 180 degree rotation of the keyboard platform Adjust both as necessary. Tighten with a good amount of force to prevent movement in use. Page 9
6. Laptop Assembly The laptop module is designed to support any vendor model laptop in an open, leaning position against the spine. The module is delivered pre assembled, but it was unassembled for shipping. To reassemble, simply use a power drill or phillips head screwdriver to reconnect the three components into place. Ensure the rear slide is in the correct alignment with respect to spine insertion. 7. Final Desk Assembly With the spine secured to the wall and all four modules assembled, the components can be rotated freely throughout the spine at the user s ergonomic preferences throughout each work day. Please refer to healthcare guidance on recommended ergonomic measurements for each user. Page 10
