1 INTRODUCTION 1.1 Atom C2000 Motherboards 1.1.1 SBC ADI Engineering has developed a Mini-ITX form factor base Single Board Computer (SBC) motherboard based on the Intel Atom C2000 System On Chip (SoC) formerly known as Rangeley. Atom C2000 is a multi-core (up to 8) SoC product featuring high levels of I/O integration and an Intel QuickAssist hardware acceleration engine. Atom C2000 is targeted for the routers and security communications market segment. This base motherboard is a lowcost, highly-embedded, low power, and small form factor solution for Atom C2000-based products. Figure 1 shows the base motherboard with 6x copper Ethernet ports. 1.1.2 Derivative SBCs ADI Engineering has developed several derivative SBC motherboards from the Atom C2000 SBC, including an optical SBC featuring 2x GbE ports and 4x GbE SFP ports (Figure 2). Custom and semi-custom versions of the and optical SBCs can be created for specific applications.
