Machine Edition View Performing View OPC Driver Diagnostics: Software Requirement: Machine Edition 5.90 Service Pack 1 or above. *Note: View OPC Driver Diagnostic feature available since Machine Edition 5.90 Service Pack 1 or later (For Quick Panel View / Control or Windows NT/XP/2000 Target Types) View OPC Drivers_- Sample Screen There are 3 types of log files can be created by diagnostics drivers, there are: Event Log Contains OPC Drivers activities OPC Diagnostic Log The OPC diagnostics window provides a real-time and historical view of OPC events that occur between any OPC client and the server. Channel Diagnostic Log The channel diagnostics window provides a real-time view of the diagnostic tags for the selected channel and a real-time view of the actual device protocol. 2 5 Steps to enable OPC Driver Diagnostic Logging: 1.) Enabled Driver Diagnostic 2.) Download and Start View Runtime with your test project 3.) Configure ServerMain.exe to configure the logging option 4.) Perform testing (e.g. I/O through driver ) 5.) Export the log files
Enable Driver Diagnostic: OPC Driver Diagnostic MUST be enabled before any OPC Driver logging configuration. 1.) Diagnostic Properties available to be enabled under the General Tab in each individual View OPC Driver channel properties (Default: Disabled) - See below 2.) Download and Start View Runtime 3.) Accessing to ServerMain.exe icon from Windows Task bar tray icon area. 3
How to export OPC Driver Event Log 1.) View Runtime project must be configured to use View OPC Driver. As soon as view runtime started, you will be able to see ServerMain icon. The OPC Event Windows will be opened up by double click on ServerMain icon. Double Click to Open 2.) Select Tools Event Log Save As Text File *Event Log file extension (*.txt) *For OPC Driver Diagnostic on Quick Panel View / Control, user can save the Event log file onto CF Card and view it by Notepad utility on any PC. 4
How to export OPC Driver OPC Diagnostic Log 1.) View Runtime project must be configured to use View OPC Driver. As soon as view runtime started, you will be able to see ServerMain icon. Press Stop button, then hit Save As to export the OPC Diagnostic log on to *OPC Diagnostic File Extension (*.opcdiag) 6 *For OPC Driver Diagnostic on Quick Panel View / Control, user can save the Event log file onto CF Card and view it by Notepad utility on any PC.
How to export OPC Driver Channel Diagnostic Log 1. View Runtime project must be configured to use View OPC Driver. As soon as view runtime started, you will be able to see ServerMain icon. The OPC Event Windows will be opened up by double click on ServerMain icon. Double Click to Open 2.) Select View Diagnostic Channel, it launched the OPC Diagnostic shows in next screenshot. 7
3.) Select specific channel for Diagnostic *Note: Available Channels are base on number of channel you have configured in your project 8
4.) Once channel diagnostic enabled, it will open the following screen. To export the channel diagnostic, right click on the channel diagnostic and do Save As, export as a text file *For OPC Driver Diagnostic on Quick Panel View / Control, user can save the Event log file onto CF Card and view it by Notepad utility on any PC. *(For Quick Panel View / Control user) In order to perform Right Click operation on a Quick Panel View/Control for channel diagnostic, users will have to connect an external USB Mouse to the panel. 9
