SCM Evaluation License From the factory (out of the box) the SCM IPX-S500 comes with an Evaluation License. This provides the maximum number of subscribers and embedded applications for a limited time. The Evaluation License will run for 30 days from system startup. Use SCM Administrator to view the remaining hours on this Evaluation License. 3
SCM License Policy The SCM V5.2 uses an Activation Key to license the quantities of various users and application features. 1. Users 2. Embedded Applications 3. External Applications The Activation Key is registered to the MAC Address of either; A. The Switch, meaning the SCM Server B. or to the Computer, meaning the PC running the applications 4
SCM License Policy When ordering an Activation Key for the SCM it is necessary to provide the following MAC addresses. SCM IPX-S500 Servers ACTIVE Server Eth0 00:00:00:00:00:00 STANDBY Server Eth0 00:00:00:00:00:00 If not labeled clearly on the carton run the linux ifconfig a command from a terminal window to get the MAC address of eth0 on the installed NIC. Do not use the MAC of the embedded Gb ports in the IPX-S500 External Servers PCs / Servers used for external Samsung Applications and 3 rd Party/OEM applications MAC address of the Network Interface card (NIC) 5
Licensed Subscribers SUBSCRIBER LICENSE COUNT Think of a subscriber as an extension number. Extension numbers are assigned to any of the station types on shown the sample license on the preceding slide. Note: Each extension number assigned counts as one subscriber. 4 extension numbers on one device counts as 4 subscribers The same extension number on multiple phones only counts as one subscriber. There are various types of subscribers list in the Activation Key 6

Activation Key Details 3/3 Directory Service License count controlls the following. HR DB based Contact List Premium CID Location Based Presence Location Based COS If the Directory Service Count is 100, then 100 subscribers can use these features. 10
SCM License Procedure The License Request Form ask for an email address. This is where the system Activation Key will be sent to. Make sure this is correct. It should be some one at the SCM dealer location, not the customer. The License Request Form must include the software version of the SCM. If your account is in good standing an email will be sent within 3 business days. The Activation key comes as a file attachment to the email. Upload this file to the system as illustrated in the next slide. 11

Pre-Installation Information Samsung provides a form to collect and record the information needed to setup the SCM servers and configure the system. 14

Pre-Installation Information Part 3 is a helpful tool to identify information specific to how they want the SCM to be configured. This will very useful to build the customer database when running the Setup Wizard. Modify to suit your needs. 18
Pre-Installation Information Additional customer information required before system set up can begin. 1. Call flow should be well defined/documented before programming. Flow charts are most helpful. 2. Station groups and overflow destinations identified 3. Custom MOH files ready for upload 4. Auto Attendant menus flow charted. 5. Announcement & greetings should be prerecorded and ready to upload. 6. Button assignments for each phone. 7. Define class of service restrictions before setting up subscribers to avoid program changes. 19
Pre-Installation Information Download the entire Pre-Installation Information Form from GSBN using your dealer ID and password You can save it for later use and modify to fit a specific site This information is extremely useful when completing the Setup Wizard. There is also a Database Collection Form available on GSBN for your use. 20
