Contents Each and Scanner module is supplied in a shipping container and static protective shipping bag. For protection, leave the modules in their shipping containers until ready for installation. Each container has a label identifying the contents. C30 Controller C50 Controller C70 Controller Scanner 1 Port Scanner 2 Port Installation Guidelines The and Scanner modules may only be inserted into a dedicated slot location in the rack. The modules are labeled by name at top front; for example, C30, C50, C70, Scanner 1 Port, Scanner 2 Port. Most of the components in an I/O expansion rack are identical to those used in the Controller Rack. The is installed in the controller rack (Figure 1, item 3) whereas the Scanner 1 or Scanner 2 is installed in the I/O expansion rack (Figure 2). 2 and Scanner Module Kit # 51-52-33-126 2/07
Installation Procedure Follow the procedure in Table 1 to install a module in a controller rack. Table 1 Installation 1 Orient the controller rack to have the open side of the enclosure facing forward with the power supply module located on the left and I/O module slots on the right (See figure 1). 2 Remove the module from its shipping container. 3 On the new CPU set/verify serial port switch settings. S1 (SW1) is shipped set to RS-232. S2 (SW2) is shipped set to RS-485. Only port S2 (SW2) can be used with a Honeywell operator interface model 559 or 1042). For this, the port must be RS-485, ELN protocol. Only one port may be a Modbus Master. It can be assigned to either port. Modbus Master can be used on either RS-232 or RS-485. A small slotted screwdriver or paperclip works well; avoid using pencils because their residue can damage the switch. RS-232 RS-485 RS-485 Port disabled terminated unterminated 4 Insert the module into the dedicated slot location in the rack adjacent to the power supply. Orient the module with module name at top. Align the module printed circuit board with the card guide slots in the chassis. Press the CPU module into the slot until the rear connector engages the mating connector of the rack backplane. (See figure 2.) Figure 2 5 Secure the module top and bottom with the captive mounting screws. 6 Do not install the battery at this time. See instructions in the Controller Installation and User s Guide (document #51-52-25-107) for additional setup information and battery installation. 2/07 and Scanner Module Kit # 51-52-33-126 3
Follow the procedure in Table 2 to install a Scanner 1 module in an expansion I/O rack. Table 2 Scanner 1 Installation 1 Orient the I/O expansion rack to have the open side of the enclosure facing forward with the power supply module located on the left and I/O module slots on the right (See figure 1). 2 Remove the Scanner 1 module from the shipping container. Set scanner address for the I/O rack using the DIP switches on. A small slotted screwdriver or paperclip works well; avoid using pencils since the residue can damage the switch. DIP switches 5, 6, 7, 8 must be OFF. Honeywell Only 1 DIP switch may be. Orient the module with the module name at top. Align the module printed circuit board with the card guide slots in the chassis. Press the Scanner module into the slot until the rear connector engages the mating connector of the rack backplane. (See Figure 2) 4 Secure the Scanner module top and bottom with the captive mounting screws. 4 and Scanner Module Kit # 51-52-33-126 2/07
or Scanner 1 Follow the procedure in Table 3 to replace a or Scanner 1 Replacement module in an existing rack. Table 3 Controller or Scanner Module replacement 1 Before replacing the module verify a copy of the current configuration file is available and a method of loading the file is understood. See Hybrid Control Designer User s Guide or HC900 Hybrid Controller Operator Interface User s Guide. 2 Remove power from the rack. 3 Remove the screws that secure the module assembly to the rack. Note that these screws function to jack the module board assembly away from the rack. 4 Pull the assembly to remove. For modules, go to step 6. 5 Remove the Scanner 1 module from the shipping container. See Table 1 3. 7 Insert the new module into the dedicated slot location in the rack. Orient the module with module name at top. Align the module printed circuit board with the card guide slots in the chassis. Press the module into the slot until the rear connector engages the mating connector of the rack backplane. (See figure 2) 8 Secure the module top and bottom with the captive mounting screws. 9 Re-apply power to the rack. 10 See instructions in the Controller Installation and User s Guide (document #51-52-25-107) for additional setup information and battery installation. 2/07 and Scanner Module Kit # 51-52-33-126 5
Scanner 2 Overview One Scanner2 Module is installed in each I/O Rack of a redundant system. I/O ports A and B connect to CPU-A and CPU-B of the redundant C70R Controller CPUs. Maintains communications with both Lead and Reserve C70R CPU s to facilitate failover. Reads inputs from modules in rack & writes outputs to modules in rack. Required for interface to C70R redundant controllers (cannot use Scanner1 module with C70R s). RIUP Cannot be replaced under power. Cannot use with non-redundant systems. Scanner 2 Follow the procedure in Table 4 to install or replace a Scanner 2 Installation or module in a redundant power rack. Replacement Table 4 Scanner 2 Module installation or replacement 1 If you are installing a new Scanner 2, go to step 6. If you are replacing the Scanner 2, go to step 2. 2 Remove power from the rack containing the Scanner 2 module to be replaced. 3 Remove the screws that secure the module assembly to the rack. Note that these screws function to jack the module board assembly away from the rack. 4 Pull the Scanner 2 module to remove. 5 Remove the Scanner 2 module from the shipping container and position the scanner address DIP switches on the module for the appropriate address position (see 6). 6 Set rack address for the I/O rack using the Scanner 2 Module DIP switches on (shown at right). (Scanner Address = 1 is shown.) DIP switches 6-8 must be OFF. Only 1 DIP switch may be.
