Levelling staffs and their accessories Decisive for accurate surveying Levelling staffs Leica Geosystems levelling staffs are indispensable for accurate levelling. They are characterized by highly-precise graduations, and by resistance to weather and to temperature changes. The wood used to manufacture the folding staffs is carefully selected and well seasoned. The wooden folding staffs are specially coated, and this makes them remarkably resistant to abrasion and to adverse environmental conditions. Invar staffs Invar is an excellent scale carrier, as a change in temperature does not influence its length. The invar strip, which bears the graduation, is spring-mounted in an aluminium frame and is therefore not affected by the expansion of the levelling staff. 24
