Trial Process
Trial Process Follow the steps below to start your E-FOTA Advanced trial: Application Preparation Approval Registration Trial 1. Complete Trial Application Form including user and device information. 2. Send the form via email to efota@samsung.com. * Use work email for quick response. 1. Samsung will set up trial environment with device information given. 2. This includes preparing available firmware of your devices for trial purpose. 1. You will receive a Trial Approval Form including user credential. 2. Log-in to Trial admin console with given credential and APK download link. 1. Register test devices to the admin console. 2. Download and install Trial APK on devices (Use MDM or send URL to each device). 3. Launch the APK and confirm device-server connection. 1. Create a new FOTA campaign and execute trial update. 2. Follow Trial Guide and Howto-use Video for reference 3. You will receive a confirm email in 3 working days. 6
Trial Policy
Trial Policy Trial purpose Update Scenario - Help the understanding of the E-FOTA Advanced solution. - Experience the core features of E-FOTA Advanced. - Repeatedly execute OS update campaign with dummy firmware* and find out more about E-FOTA Advanced. Original Firmware Dummy Firmware Dummy1 Firmware (=Original Firmware) - Current version of OS should be updated to dummy version (.DM), then (.DM) should be updated to (.DM1) version to go back to the original version. - This is for test purposes to continuously try updating firmware version. * What is dummy firmware? For every Samsung official firmware released, a corresponding dummy firmware exists for testing purposes. If there is no dummy firmware, devices with the latest firmware must wait for a new firmware to release in order to further test the E-FOTA update functions. With the dummy firmware, E-FOTA testers can repeatedly upgrade their device from an official firmware to a dummy firmware and then back to the official firmware. 8

Login to E-FOTA console and reset password for the first log-in 1 Access to E-FOTA Advanced Cloud Console : https://samsungefota.com/ 1 Enter Admin User ID, password, domain name ( Information will give in Approval Form ) Admin user ID Admin user Password (temporary) 1 Click Login button to log in. Domain name 1 You ll be asked to change the password for the first login. 12

For Wi-Fi tablet, It can be replaced with Mac address 13

Register IMEI or Mac address to server, Install APK on devices (2) How to install APK on devices 2 Launch app to activate it on devices (As of this moment, it requires user interaction for the first launch to activate device administrator, whereas some MDMs support auto-launch) 3 Confirm if all devices are registered to server by launching it one time (If registered, last reported and last seen value will be seen) 15
