Quick Reference Guide WebEx on an Android Tablet Install WebEx Meetings for an Android Tablet In order to schedule and attend WebEx meetings from your Android Tablet you need to download, install and activate the Cisco WebEx Meetings application. To install the Webex Meeting application: 2. 3. 4. On your Android Tablet navigate to the Google Play Store. Tap the Search icon and use WebEx as a search keyword. Choose Cisco WebEx Meetings and then tap Install. Depending on your device, a Cisco WebEx Meetings pop-up may appear requesting access. Check and click Accept if you agree. The application will install and launch automatically and you will be prompted to accept Terms and Conditions. Note: Depending on your device the next screen may offer you the option to Open or Install if this is the case, ignore and proceed to Step 1 below. To activate the WebEx service on your Android Tablet: From your web browser sign into WebEx at the following address: www.griffith.edu.au/webex 2. Select the Downloads link in the upper right corner of WebEx site. 3. Select Continue beneath WebEx for Mobile Devices. 7 August 2014 7/08/2014
4. 5. An activation email will be sent to your email address. To complete the activation process, open the activation email on your Android Tablet and select the link to activate the service. 6. If you are not already logged into Griffith Single Sign-On you will be prompted to login. Enter your login credentials.
7. Depending on your device you may see a pop-up to Activate the Webex App. Click Activate. 8. Depending on your device you may see an Insecure connection pop-up screen. Click Connect. 9. WebEx Meetings launches automatically and your upcoming meetings calendar is displayed.
Schedule a Meeting You can schedule WebEx meetings using the Cisco WebEx Meetings for Android application. To schedule a meeting: Open the application and sign in, if prompted. 2. Tap the schedule icon in the top right corner then tap schedule for later. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. Enter a meeting topic. Set a meeting password (optional) that attendees will use to join the meeting Tap Schedule for later. Enter an email address then tap add invitee. Or tap contacts to select invitees. Tap schedule and set the meeting date and time. Tap duration and specify the meeting length in hours and minutes. Review and tap schedule. Attendees will receive an email containing your meeting invitation, and you will see the meeting in your My Meetings list.
Start a WebEx Meeting As the host you must start the meeting before attendees can join. When it is time to start/attend your meeting: Open the WebEx Meetings application on your Android Tablet, choose the meeting from the My Meetings view and then tap Start. 2. Depending on your device an Audio connection pop-up may appear. Click Call me to receive a call from the meeting or Connect using Internet to use Wi-Fi instead of your phone minutes. In-Meeting Interactions While your meeting is in progress, you can speak and chat with participants, and view presentations shared by participants and share your video. To setup your audio: Tap the audio icon to Mute or Unmute yourself. 2. Tap the Audio connection icon then tap Leave Audio Conference or Disconnect audio (depending on your device) to leave the audio portion of your meeting. You can rejoin the audio at any time as long as the meeting has not ended. To chat with all participants: Tap the Participants icon to display the participant list. 2. Tap Chat with everyone. 3. Enter the text and tap Send to all.
To make a participant the presenter: Tap the Participants icon 2. Drag and drop the WebEx ball to the participant you would like to make the presenter. Note: You CANNOT reclaim the host role from your Android Tablet after you transfer the presenter role. To share your video from your Android Tablet: Tap the Video icon. 2. Tap Start My Video. Your video appears on your tablet in a thumbnail image. To stop sharing video: Tap the Video icon. 2. Tap Stop My Video. To end a meeting: Tap the End Meeting icon A confirmation message appears. 2. Tap End Meeting. The meeting ends and your My Meetings page appear.
Join a Meeting When signed in, choose the meeting in the My Meetings view, and then tap Join. Connect to the Audio Conference You can connect to the meeting s audio by calling into the meeting using your Android Tablet or any other telephone, receive a call to a Griffith University internal phone number or use your computer to make a call over the Internet. To join the audio conference: Make a selection by tapping an audio option: Note: If you choose to connect using the Internet, you will be using your 3G or 4G data plan unless you are on a Wi-Fi connection. To leave the audio conference: You can disconnect from the audio conference at any time during a meeting. When you do this you will be disconnected from the audio portion of the meeting, but not the meeting itself. For example, you may no longer wish to communicate in the meeting or you may wish to switch from telephone to computer for audio. To leave the audio conference: Tap the Audio icon, then tap Leave Audio Conference. Note: You can re-join the audio conference at any time as long as the meeting has not ended.
