TCC Certification Program Elements To enable the test and certification services, TCC has developed or mobilized the following resources and entities: Testing Strategy Test Specifications Test Laboratory Test Equipment Certified Test Bed Units (CTBUs) Interoperability Testing Events Slide 7
TCC Testing Strategy Two Part Testing: Conformance Testing assessing Device Under Test for conformance to the specification using specialized test equipment Interoperability Testing assessing Device Under Test for interoperability with reference implementations known as Certified Test Bed Units (CTBUs) All testing is conducted by a Wi-SUN appointed Independent Test Laboratory Third Party Testing Device Under Test must pass all relevant tests to be eligible for certification Slide 8
TCC Test Specifications There are four conformance test specifications and four interoperability specifications PHY Conformance Test Specification PHY Interop Test Specification PHY Standard Test Interface document FAN Conformance Test Specification FAN Interop Test Specification Echonet Interface Conformance Test Specification Echonet MAC Conformance Test Specification Echonet Interop Test Specification These specifications are under constant maintenance of TCC Slide 9
TCC Certification Program Elements Test laboratory TCC works with Wi-SUN-approved test laboratory to deliver third party testing Test equipment TCC works with test equipment vendors to provide test harness for conformance testing Certified test bed unit TCC works with product vendor to develop certified test bed units (CTBUs) to facilitate the third party interoperability testing CTBUs are reference implementations against which a device under test shall conduct interoperability testing Slide 10
TCC Certification Program During Test and Certification Program Development Quality assessment and improvement of Profile Technical Specification Test Specification Test Equipment and test tools Member company products Wi-SUN Alliance uses formal reporting strategy for assessing status Steady State Venue for Member Companies to assess the readiness of their products for deployment. Continual Assessment of Test and Certification Program Impact of Profile Technical Specification Changes on test plan and backward compatibility Slide 11
TCC Interoperability Testing Event Increasing number of participating Member companies Reduced number of Test Specification issues Consistency of Test Equipment proven 1 Profile specification verification by multiple interoperable implementations. Increased number of pairing and test sessions. Statistics are confidential to Wi-SUN Alliance members 1 Test Equipment additionally undergoes formal verification before approval Slide 12
