Description Features The optical wavelength division multiplexer module is designed to plug into the PBN optical communications mainframe chassis (OCM). The module can be optioned for simple, dual wavelength 1310 / 1550 nm applications. Alternative options are for up to four wavelengths for CWDM applications, up to 8 wavelengths for DWDM applications or multiple combinations of passive wavelength division multiplexer devices for customised applications. The CWDM version employs wavelengths in the range of 1271 nm to 1611 nm with 20 nm channel spacing. The DWDM versions are available in 4 and 8 channel configurations at 100 GHz or 200 GHz channel spacing. The is designed with front panel access to its SC/APC connectors, allowing ease of connection. The passive optical device uses proven fused biconic taper (FBT) techniques and thin film filter technology, along with fibre Bragg grating (FBG) designs to give low loss and high wavelength isolation. 1310 / 1550 nm for standard WDM applications. CWDM wavelength range from 1271 nm to 1611 nm. 1550 nm ITU grid wavelength range for DWDM applications. Passive temperature compensation. ITU recommended wavelengths, custom wavelengths available upon request. All fibre construction for stable environmental performance. Proven FBT/FBG and thin film filter designs for high performance and reliability. SC/APC connectors. Low insertion loss. Single slot in OCM. PBN. - Datasheet V6c - Draft 17 Sep 09.doc - Page 1 of 8
