voice FEATURES push to talk After initializing PTT, add individuals or groups to your PTT contact list so you can place a PTT call. Individuals and group members must subscribe to the Cingular PTT service. Adding a Push to Talk Contact 1. From standby mode, press the Left Soft Key for Menu, select Push to Talk (6), and press OK. 2. Select Add Contact (2) and press OK. 3. Enter the name of the contact and the phone number and press OK. 4. When the contact is confirmed as a valid PTT subscriber, an invitation is sent out which the other user must accept. You will see a icon while the invitation is in progress. Note: You can create up to 99 PTT contacts. Adding a Push to Talk Group 1. From standby mode, press the Left Soft Key for Menu, select Push to Talk (6), and press OK. 2. Select Add Group (3) and press OK. 3. Enter the name that you would like to call the group and press OK. 4. Choose Select In Contacts (1) and press OK. (Choose New Contact (2) to add any missing contacts.) 5. Highlight each contact you want in the group and press OK to select. When finished, press the Right Soft Key for Done. An invitation to join the group will be sent to each contact. 6. When the first contact accepts, the group s icon will change from (in progress) to (group available). Note: You can create up to 30 PTT groups and have 20 members in each group. Making a Push to Talk Call 1. Push and quickly release the PTT Key to access your contact list. 2. Select the contact or group you want to call. Make sure the contact or group shows Available or Silent/Vibrate. 3. Press and hold the PTT Key to activate the call. A tone will immediately play indicating you have the floor and may begin speaking. Release the PTT Key when you are done speaking. 4. To end a session, press the End Key. (You ll be automatically disconnected if there is no activity for 30 seconds.) Other voice features Activating Speakerphone 1. During a call, press and hold the side Speakerphone Key until you see the icon on the screen. 2. Press and hold the side Speakerphone Key a second time to return to normal conversation. Warning! Due to higher volume levels, don t place the phone near your ear while the speakerphone is enabled. Recording a Voice Memo 1. Press the My MEdia icon (left) on the Navigation Key, and select Tools (6). 2. Select Voice Memo (3) and press OK. 3. Press the Left Soft Key for New and start recording immediately. You have 30 seconds to record the memo. 4. Once you ve finished recording, press the Left Soft Key for Save. Note: Recorded voice memos can be found in the main menu under My MEdia (7) Tools (6) Voice Memo (3). CONNECTIVITY FEATURES Purchasing and Downloading New Content from MEdia Mall 1. From standby mode, press the Left Soft Key for Menu, select MEdia Mall (4), and press OK. 2. Select a category that you would like to download content from (ringtones, games, graphics, multimedia, or applications), and press the Left Soft Key for Connect. Note: Downloaded games, ringtones, and graphics are stored in the main menu under My MEdia (7).

Accessing the Web 1. Press and hold the OK/Web Key until you see the MEdia Net Connecting screen. 2. Once connected, choose a category and press OK. 3. Press the End Key to end your browsing session, then press the Left Soft Key for Yes to confirm. MESSAGING Signing On to Instant Messaging 1. Press the Right Soft Key for IM, select an IM provider and press OK. 2. Sign on to enter your Screen Name/ID and password and press OK. Sending an Instant Message A color icon will appear next to the screen names that are currently online. 1. Use the Navigation Key to select the name you d like to chat with and press OK. 2. Enter your message in the blue area at the bottom of the screen and press OK to send. 3. Your sent message will appear in the main message area with a left-facing carat/arrow. Incoming replies will be marked with a right-facing carat/arrow. 4. To end your conversation, press the Left Soft Key for Options and select End Conversation (3). 5. To log out of your IM community, return to your contact screen, press the Left Soft Key for Options, select Sign Off /Sign Out, and choose Yes. Sending a Text Message 1. Press the Text Message icon (up) on the Navigation Key and enter the message (up to 160 characters) using the keypad, and press Right Soft Key for Options when done. 2. Select Send to Number (1) or Send to Email (2) and press OK. Press the Left Soft Key for Contacts to select a recipient, or use the keypad to enter a phone number or e-mail address. Up to 5 recipients can be added. 3. Press the Left Soft Key for Send. Sending a Multimedia Message 1. From standby mode, press the Left Soft Key for Menu, select Messaging (2), and select Multimedia Messages (3). 2. Select New Message (1) and press OK. 3. Select New and press OK. 4. Use the keypad to enter a text message, and scroll using the Navigation Key to add an image (that you have downloaded) or a sound (choose from the list or record your own) by pressing the Left Soft Key for Select. 5. Once your message is complete, press the Right Soft Key for Menu, then select Send (1). 6. Press the Left Soft Key for Select to choose phone numbers or e-mail addresses from the Address Book. Or scroll down to enter a phone number or e-mail address and press the Left Soft Key for Done. 7. Press the Right Soft Key for Menu and select Send MMS (1) to send. customizable features Changing the Ringtone 1. From standby mode, press the Left Soft Key for Menu, select Settings (9), and select Sounds (1). 2. Select Ringtones (2). 3. Choose from the list of available default or downloaded ringtones and press OK. Adjusting Volume Settings Ringer Volume: While in standby mode, press the side volume keys to adjust the ringer volume. Earpiece Volume: During a conversation, press the side volume keys to adjust the earpiece volume. Silent Mode: While in standby mode, press the lower volume key until it reads Silent to mute all sounds.

Changing the Wallpaper Image 1. From standby mode, press the Left Soft Key for Menu, select Settings (9), select Display (2). 2. Select Wallpaper (1). 3. Press left or right on the Navigation Key to select a default graphic, or download more from MEdia Mall, and press OK. PERSONAL INFORMATION TOOLS Scheduling an Event 1. Press the My MEdia icon (left) on the Navigation Key, and select Tools (6). 2. Select Calendar (2) and press OK. 3. Highlight the event date using the Navigation Key and press OK. To quickly jump from month to month, press the * or # keys. 4. Add an event by pressing the Left Soft Key for New. You may set the appropriate subject, event time, recurrence (if any), and alarm by scrolling to the corresponding field, and entering the desired information. 5. Press the Left Soft Key for Save. Scheduling an Alarm 1. Press the My MEdia icon (left) on the Navigation Key, and select Tools (6). 2. Select Alarm Clock (1) and press OK. 3. Press left or right on the Navigation Key to select On and set the appropriate time, recurrence (if any) and alarm tone by scrolling to the corresponding field. 4. Press the Left Soft Key for Set. Adding a New Contact Entry 1. From standby mode, press the Left Soft Key for Menu, select Address Book (8), and select New Contact (2). 2. Enter information into any of the following fields: Name, Mobile, Home, Office, E-mail, Group and Notepad, scrolling as necessary, and press the Left Soft Key for Save. To set speed dial 3. After step 2 above, from the Address Book menu, select Speed Dial List (3). 4. Select an <Empty speed dial number (2-9) and press OK. 5. Highlight the contact and press left or right on the Navigation Key to select the phone number you d like to create a speed dial for, then press OK. Note: To dial a speed dial number, press and hold the # key. To set voice dial 3. After step 2 above, from the Address Book menu, select Voice Dial List (4). 4. Press the Left Soft Key for Add when creating your first voice dial. 5. Highlight the contact and press left or right on the Navigation Key to select the phone number you d like to create a voice dial for, then press OK. 6. You will be prompted twice to say your contact s name. Note: To initiate voice-activated dialing, press and hold the # key while in standby mode. When prompted, say the name of the contact you want to call. OTHER NOTABLE SETTINGS Vibrate Mode 1. From standby mode, press and hold the Vibrate Mode Key ( ) * for 3 seconds. The phone will vibrate when activated. When set, the vibrate icon will appear on the idle screen. 2. To turn off Vibrate Mode, press and hold the * key until Normal Mode is displayed.
