Administrator s Guide to Publishing Multimedia The Administrator s Guide to Publishing Multimedia enables the administrator to upload multimedia into CE Manager and make them available to professionals or clients for on-demand viewing. Professionals/Clients may validate their participation during the multimedia presentation and then immediately upon completion earn CLE/CPD or CPE credit and a certificate. 1. From the Main Menu of CE Manager, scroll to the E-Learning section on the bottom of the page to Show Multimedia Library. 2. Once your multimedia is prepared by Micron Systems, you can Publish Multimedia so it will appear within your Multimedia Library and can be associated with courses. Now you should see a page similar to the one on the image below. Click Browse. Administrators Guide to Publishing Multimedia Page 2 of 10
3. This window shows the multimedia available for you to publish. Click Publish next to the file that you choose to publish. Important Note: Once you click Publish here; the file will not be available to publish again. If you chose the wrong file in error, please contact Micron Systems Support and we will re-submit the file for you. Administrators Guide to Publishing Multimedia Page 3 of 10
4. Once you click Publish, fill out the information according to the course/multimedia. When complete, click Publish Multimedia. 5. After clicking Publish Multimedia you will see confirmation that it is publishing and after that another confirmation that says the media has successfully uploaded to the Multimedia Library. Select the Associated Courses tab and click Associate to Course. 6. Search for the course you wish to associate to the multimedia. Click the checkbox next to the course and click Associate to Multimedia. Refer to image below: Administrators Guide to Publishing Multimedia Page 5 of 10
7. Once your association is complete, you will now have to create an E-Learning Program. This is similar to creating a course schedule. Refer to the image below, click on your course title. 8. Go to E-Learning tab as shown on the screen below, and click Add E-Learning Program. Administrators Guide to Publishing Multimedia Page 6 of 10
9. When you see the screen that looks similar to the one below, you will need to enter all required information which is marked with an *. Move the multimedia from the Available section to Selected section and click Add Schedule. Administrators Guide to Publishing Multimedia Page 7 of 10
10. Once you add the schedule, you can now check your segments and add validation by going to the E-Learning tab. Click on Validation and you will see the screen like the one below. You can setup Video Verification Code or Verify Viewing. CE Manager allows you to use both options at same time if you wish. If you choose both, it may be very intense for the viewing audience. Verification Code The Verification code allows you set your own code or let CE Manager generate a code to verify that the user is watching the multimedia. This is done from the Type category. Display defines for the program how many times the code should appear for the user should they fail to enter the correct code. Once the code appears again and is entered correctly, the Verification Code will no longer continue to appear. The Attempts option allows you chose the number of attempts you will allow your professionals to enter the code correctly. Remember, they may either click on the code or they may type the code. Verify Viewing: When you enable this feature it will display the number of times you set throughout the program to confirm that the user is still actively watching. You can select the number of times you would like this to appear under the Display option. You may also set the length of time this is visible to the user, allowing them to click into it. 11. Enabling HOME >E-Learning and LIBRARY for the Micron Portal. Go to the righthand corner of your Administrator Home Page. - Go to Global Settings - Click on Application link Administrators Guide to Publishing Multimedia Page 9 of 10
Open the Micron Portal tab and scroll to E-Learning in the HOME section. Choose the settings you would like to enable. Scroll down further to the LIBRARY section and make sure you have checked Course Materials. This will enable these options in the Micron portal. **Please note that these are global settings and they will be set for all the multimedia you publish in CE Manager for your professionals to view.
