Binary Output 23BO62 Characteristics The binary output is made via relay contacts. The 8 outputs are potential isolated against the electronic by optocoupler. All 8 outputs have a separate return. Application The binary output board 23BO62 can be used for the output of up to 8 binary signals to the process, using relay contacts. The assignment of an output to a number of processing functions can be freely undertaken within the scope of the configuration rules. The 23BO62 can be used for the following types of signal: Object commands with 1 or 2 pole output without (1 out of n) check Object commands with 1.5 or 2 pole output with (1 out of n) check Regulation Commands, 1 and 2 pole Digital Setpoints (8 Bit) Bitstring Output, 1 or 8 Bit The board is available in two versions: 23BO62 R0001 23BO62 R0009 for up to 150 V DC or max. 10 A for up to 60V or for max. 4A The supply voltage (U E ) for the internal relays has to be supplied from external (e. g. from 511CIM01). Two outputs of the board 23BO62 are required for each command in the case of two pole commands (e.g. for double commands C 1 together with C 3, and C 2 together with C 4). U P 23BO62 C1. C8 R1.. The binary output board 23BO62 can execute the following processing functions on the individual signal types: Control of the command output duration (following instruction from the CMU, CMU = communication unit) Before and during command output the board 23BO62 carries out several monitoring functions: (1 out of n) check of the process relay, by using the supervision function of 511CIM01 or 560CIG10/560CID11 modules. Monitoring the external process voltage (24 V DC) command output duration monitoring If a fault occurs during running of tests the command will be cancelled. The board micro-controller is responsible for interactive communication with the system bus. All configuration characteristics and processing parameters are downloaded from the communication unit via the RTU system bus. The board is equipped with a serial interface to the RTU system bus (Wired-OR Bus). When using the binary output board in a RTU560 rack configuration, it is necessary to connect one I/O adaptor board 23AD64 in front of the first I/O board. During initialization and operation the board carries out a number of tests. If a fault occurs it is reported to the communication unit. All fault conditions impairing the function of the board are displayed as common fault signal with a light emitting diode (Error). A failure of the board is detected by the communication unit. Operating states and faults are displayed by light emitting diodes of the 23BO62: LED 1 8: Display the active outputs ST: Common malfunction information of the board BL: LED is always active with RTU511 PST: LED is always inactive with RTU511 CO: LED is always inactive with RTU511 Doc.-No.: 1KGT 150 833 V000 1 2
