What is the IntelleView POS Surveillance System? The IntelleView POS Surveillance System (IntelleView) is a point-of-sale (POS) monitoring/recording system, which performs the following functions: Saves all POS Transaction Data IntelleView connects to the POS system network and captures all transaction data. The captured transaction data is stored in a relational database on the IntelleView server. Provides Real Time Exception Monitoring IntelleView compares the transaction data to Exception Definitions, which are entered using the Administrator software. Exception Definitions relate to POS system activities, such as Purchases, Voids, Returns, Price Adjustments, Item Numbers, Account Numbers, and Miscellaneous events. IntelleView can also monitor all transactions from specific associates or registers. You may also choose to override recording of specific cameras to selected video recorder channels. Digital Video Recording IntelleView integrates with Robot's Intellex Digital Video Recorder to provide digital recording of POS activity. IntelleView provides a separate network connection, which supports multiple Intellex recorders. Each Intellex recorder may have 8 or 16 video channels. Data Mining with link to Digital Video IntelleView allows you to investigate (data mine) all POS transaction data, up to 90 days. A Date Selection Control and Transaction Filter allow the user to enter specific criteria resulting in a list of suspicious transactions. Each transaction may have a link to associated video on an Intellex recorder. Remote Access including Live Video. IntelleView provides remote access, allowing for the administration, monitoring, and viewing of live transaction data and video from anywhere. Stored transaction data and video may also be reviewed remotely. Easy to use Graphical Interface IntelleView provides a graphical user interface for simplified administration, control and monitoring of the system. View live transaction data in the Slip Panel. View live video in the Video Panel. See the results of a data mining operation in the DB Transaction list with color coded transaction types, or view it in a Bar or Pie Chart format. Identify problem Associates with the click of a few buttons. Click the Video Icon to retrieve stored video instantly. Real Time Exception List IntelleView provides an Exception List, which displays POS exceptions (based on the defined Exception Definitions). While you are monitoring live video or reviewing transactions and stored video, the Exception List will continue to display Exceptions from any register in the POS system. Starting the Operator Software To start the Operator software: 1. Double click the IntelleView Operator shortcut icon that appears on your operating system desktop. OR Click Start, Programs, Sensormatic, and then click IntelleView Operator. 2. Select the store from the list of available stores. Click Connect. IMPORTANT! If you connect via Local Area Network (LAN), the Dial Up checkbox must be unselected. Continue with step 3. If you connect via modem, click the Dial Up checkbox and verify that the correct information was entered. Update if required, and then click Connect. 3. If passwords are enabled, you must enter your login name and password. Click OK. The software starts. Continue with Overview of the Main Window on page 3. 2 of 22

Overview of the Main Window The IntelleView Operator software Main Window (Figure 1) contains the menu bar, tool bar, transaction slip panel, video panel, and a tabbed control for viewing data mining operations, charts, reports, and real time exceptions. Figure 1: IntelleView Operator software Main Window Tool Bar Menu Bar Slip Panel Video Panel Tabbed Control The Menu Bar allows you to perform operator tasks by selecting commands from a menu structure. The following menus are available: File, View, Store, Settings, and Help. The Tool Bar provides one click access to various IntelleView functions. These functions include printing, register selection, large video display, live video display, transaction filters, and date selection. The Slip Panel displays live slip transaction data from the selected register or stored slip transaction data from the database. You may choose to have the slip scroll automatically as each event in the transaction occurs, or you may choose to disable the scrolling by deselecting the Auto Scroll checkbox at the bottom of the window. The Video Panel displays live video from the selected register or stored video in 320X240 format from an Intellex Digital Video Recorder. It also displays playback controls for stored video review. To resume live video, click the icon in the Tool Bar. 3 of 22

The tabbed control allows you to select tabs for displaying real time exceptions and data mining results in a variety of formats: Select the Real Time Exceptions tab to view the most recent exceptions in chronological order. This list is empty when the Operator software is first launched and populates once exceptions are detected. You cannot sort the information in this list. The most recent exception appears at the top of the list. Click Clear to remove all exceptions and restart the list. Select the DB Transactions tab to view the results of data mining operations. Each event type is color-coded for easy identification. You may sort the list in ascending or descending order by clicking the list headings. Select the DB Charts tab to display the results of data mining operations in chart format. You may choose to view charts by Associates or Registers and display the results in Bar or Pie chart formats. Select the DB Reports tab to display the results of data mining operations in report format. You may choose to view reports by Associates or Registers. Viewing Live Video IntelleView supports two types of video recording configurations: Record Some and Record All. Live video is handled differently depending upon the video recording configuration that is in use. Information about Record Some configurations appears below. Information about Record All configurations starts on page 6. Record Some Configuration If the IntelleView system is configured in the Record Some configuration, only select transactions will be video recorded. This is also called Exception Monitoring because transactions with pre-defined exceptions are video recorded based upon the priority set in the IntelleView Administrator software. Record Some refers to the fact that some, not all, of the POS transactions include video recordings on the Intellex digital video recorder. However, all of the POS transaction data is stored in the IntelleView database for a designated time period. Only the most important transactions, based on user-defined Exception Definitions and Priority settings, include video recordings. The Record Some configuration is provided for systems where there are many registers to be monitored, but only one digital video recorder. Since the single video recorder can not record video from all of the registers at the same time, IntelleView compares the information within each transaction against the user defined Exception Definitions to determine which transactions will get video recorded. Depending on your system hardware, IntelleView can record from 2 to 16 simultaneous exceptions. Under normal surveillance conditions, the video appearing in the video window is associated with detected exceptions. The video may switch to different registers as exceptions time out, and new exceptions are detected. If no exception activity is detected (and video override is not in effect), no video will appear in the video panel. In the Record Some configuration, the IntelleView system is designed to assign exceptions to the first available recorder channel, starting with Channel 1. Channel 1 will typically be assigned the most exceptions. However, you may choose to monitor video from any Intellex channel. Use the Video Override window (Figure 2) to select a recorder channel. While exception activity is being processed, you will only see the video associated with the selected channel. If no exception activity is assigned to the selected channel, no video will be seen. The other channels will continue to record video as exception events are assigned to those channels. See Viewing Live Video from a Specific Intellex Recording Channel on page 5 for more information. You may also choose to override video from a specific register to an Intellex recorder channel. This will record all register activity on the channel regardless of exception status. This prevents the override channel from recording exception events from other registers. The override remains in effect until you manually stop it. See Starting a Video Override and Stopping a Video Override for more information. IMPORTANT! While the Video Override window is displayed, you may notice register information being assigned to channels. These changes are associated with exceptions that occur simultaneously and are recorded on other channels. The first detected exception is assigned to Recorder Channel 1. The second detected exception (from a different register) will be assigned to Recorder Channel 2. When the exception time out on Channel 1 completes, this channel will become available again for recording new exceptions. 4 of 22

Figure 2: Video Override Window Viewing Live Video from a Specific Intellex Recording Channel This procedure applies to Record Some configurations only. When the Operator software is first started, video is displayed from the last selected Intellex channel (in Record Some configurations). To view video from a different channel, use the Recorder Select grid in the Video Override window (see Figure 2). 1. Click the Register Selection button in the tool bar. The Video Override window (Figure 2) contains the list of configured registers and active associates, as well as the status of the Intellex recording channels. Note: You may also use the View->Video Override menu to open this window. 2. Scroll through the list of Intellex Channels in the Recorder Select grid. The Recorder Select grid shows the current recording status of each Intellex Channel. ExceptionRec indicates that an exception is being recorded on the channel. Override represents a video override. --- indicates no activity on the channel. 3. Select a channel. When IntelleView assigns an exception to the selected channel, the transaction data from the offending register appears in the Slip Panel, and video from the register appears in the Video Panel. If no exceptions are assigned to the selected channel, no video appears in the Video Panel. Exceptions that are assigned to channels that are not selected do not appear in the Slip Panel or Video Panel. However, both the transaction is saved and video is recorded for data mining purposes. 4. When finished using the Video Override window, click the close button ( ), located in the upper right corner of the window. Starting a Video Override This procedure applies to Record Some configurations only. To assign a specific register to a specific Intellex recording channel, use the Video Override feature. 1. Click the Register Selection button in the tool bar. The Video Override window appears. Note: You may also use the View->Video Override menu to open this window. 2. Locate the channel that you want to use for the video override in the Recorder Select grid and select it. Note: Use higher numbered channels for video override. Leave the lower numbered channels available for automatic exception recording. 3. Scroll through the list of registers/associates until you locate the one that you want to monitor and select it. 4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for each video override you want to set. When finished, click the close button ( ), located in the upper right corner of the window. 5 of 22

Stopping a Video Override This procedure applies to Record Some configurations only. To end the video override of a register to a specific Intellex recording channel: 1. Click the Register Selection button in the tool bar. The Video Override window appears. Note: You may also use the View->Video Override menu to open this window. 2. Locate the video recording channel that is being overridden. Select the channel, and click the Stop button. 3. Repeat step 2 for each video override you want to stop. When finished, click the close button ( ). Record All Configuration If the IntelleView system is configured in the Record All configuration, all transactions will be video recorded. As in the Record Some configuration, all of the POS transaction data is stored in the IntelleView database for a designated time period. The Record All configuration is provided for systems where there are enough cameras installed to monitor each register and a sufficient number of Intellex digital video recorders are installed to allow each camera to be directly connected to its own recording channel. In the Record All configuration, the slip panel and video panel displays the transaction data and video from the specific register that the user has selected in the Register Select window (see Figure 3). Once a register is selected the Register Select window, transaction data and live video from that register only will be displayed in the slip panel and video panel. This is different from the Record Some configuration, where the IntelleView system determines (based on Exception Definitions and Priority settings) which registers transaction data and video appears in the slip panel and video panel (unless Video Override is in effect). Figure 3: Register Select Window 6 of 22

Viewing Live Video from a Specific Register This procedure applies to Record All configurations only. When the Operator software is first started, video is displayed from the last selected Register (in Record All configurations). To view video from a different register, use the grid in the Recorder Select window (see Figure 3.). 1. Click the Register Selection button in the tool bar. The Register Select window (Figure 3) contains the list of registers and active associates, as well as the status of the Registers. Note: You may also use the View->Register Select menu to open this window. 2. Scroll through the list of Registers in the grid. The grid shows the current status of each Register (see Figure 3). ExceptionRec indicates that an exception is being recorded. --- indicates that no transaction is being recorded. Off/On indicates that the register is inactive (Off) or active (On) meaning it has recently generated a transaction. 3. Select a register. When you select a register, the transaction data from the register appears in the Slip Panel, and video from the register appears in the Video Panel. When finished using the Register Select window, click the close button ( ), located in the upper right corner of the window. Displaying Large Video When video is displayed in the main window, it appears in 320x240-pixel format. To display video in 640x480- pixel format, click the Large Video button in the tool bar. This displays the live or archived video along with any associated transaction slip information in a separate window (Figure 4). Note: You may also use the View->Large Video menu to open this window. Investigating Suspicious Transactions Because all register transactions are stored in a database, you are able to investigate transactions that occurred days or weeks ago. This activity is called data mining. The days of available transactions may range from 7 to 90 days, which is set by the IntelleView Administrator application. If associated video is available on the Intellex system, you can review the archived transaction in context with the associated video. The Transaction Filter window (Figure 5) allows you to select specific event types and enter the criteria for investigating transactions in the database. To display this window, click the Transaction Filter button. If the related data in a transaction exceeds the criteria entered in the Transaction Filter, it is recognized as a data-mined exception. These transactions are then listed in the DB Transactions tab of the main window. See Figure 6 on page 9. When the transaction list appears, you may: Sort the list by clicking the column headings. To print the DB Transactions list, click the Print Active Tab button on the tool bar. Display the transaction slip information by clicking the + symbol in the EX (expand) column. This displays the transaction information in a separate window. To print this information, click the Print Slip button in the tool bar. Note: You may also use the View->Transaction Filter menu to open this window. When the Apply or OK button is clicked, a database query is performed. This query is also based on the current date, or range of dates, selected in the Date Selection window. See Working with the Date Selection Window on page 10. Note: You may also use the File->Print Slip menu to perform this function. If video of the transaction is available, the symbol appears in the Video column. Click this symbol to play the video segment. Figure 5: Transaction Filter Window 8 of 22

Figure 6: DB Transactions Tab Working with the Transaction Filter Window The Transaction Filter window (Figure 5) allows you to select specific event types and enter criteria for retrieving transactions in the database. The event types that you can research are: Purchase Events: Exceptions based on a complete POS transaction. Purchase events include cash sales, credit card sales, gift certificate redemption, as well as other tender types. Void Events: Exceptions based on the cancellation of a sale in the middle of a transaction or an entire transaction. You may also search for Item Voids that cancel a specific item within a transaction. Return Events: Exceptions based upon a customer returning merchandise for a refund or exchange. Return events include Full Refunds, Even Exchanges, or Exchanges with Refunds. Price Adjustment Events: Exceptions based on changing the price of merchandise within a transaction. Price adjustment events include Price Overrides, Competitive Match, Coupons, Employee Discounts, as well as other adjustment types. Item Number Event: Exceptions based upon specific item SKU numbers. In addition, you may choose to flag any hand-keyed item number as an exception. Account Number Event: Exceptions based upon specific account numbers. In addition, you may flag any hand-keyed account number and refunds to any account numbers as exceptions. Miscellaneous Event: Exceptions based upon register activity other than completed merchandise transactions. Miscellaneous events include no sale, log on, transaction suspended, as well as other types of non-purchase transactions. Video Override Event: Exceptions based on video override being in effect for specific registers. When performing data mining operations, you may choose to disable certain event types by selecting the boxes next to the event type names. When an X appears in the box, the event type is disabled. When the box appears empty, the event type is enabled. You may also limit the data mining to specific Registers or Associates, transactions with Real Time Exceptions, and Events With Video available. Figure 7 illustrates the Event Types section of the Transaction Filter window. In this example, Item Number and Account Number Event Types have been disabled. In addition, results are not limited to specific Registers, Associates, or transactions with Real Time Exceptions (original exceptions) or Events with Video. Figure 7: Transaction Filter Event Types After running the data mining operation, the transactions in the database will be searched for Purchase, Return, Price Adjustments, Associate, Item Number, and Account Number Event types based on the selected date range. In this example, only transactions with video segments available will be retrieved. 9 of 22

Setting Up Transaction Filters To set up the transaction filters, click an Event Type in the Transaction Filter window. The Grid Control (Figure 8) located on the right side of the window updates to reflect the selected Event Type. For example, if you click Purchase, the grid updates to include purchase event filters. If any filters have been defined, they appear in the Definition Grid Control. Otherwise, the grid is blank. Figure 8: Transaction Filter - Grid Control Working with the Date Selection Window The Date Selection window (Figure 9) allows you to select a date, or range of dates, for searching transactions in the database. Only a single date may be selected, not a range of dates. 11 of 22

Working with Charts and Reports The DB Charts and DB Reports tabs provide information about exceptions for specific associates or registers. The exceptions depicted are based on the Associates and Register event types information entered in the Transaction Filter window. The Associate and Register event types do not have to be enabled for the Charts and Reports to be displayed. The exceptions shown reflect those event types (such as Purchase, Voids, and Returns) that are currently enabled in the Transaction Filter window. For example, to generate charts associated with Purchase, Void, and Return Events for specific associates: 1. Enable the Associate event type and enter several associate numbers in the grid in the Transaction Filter window. 2. Enable the Purchase, Void, and Return event types. 3. Click the Apply button. The chart displays the combined number of Purchase, Void, and Return exceptions for the associates for the selected day(s). The Report shows a breakdown by type, such as Purchase, Void, or Return. Click the DB Charts tab (Figures 9 and 10) to view a bar chart or pie chart of the transaction list. The chart indicates the total number of exceptions committed by specific Associates or from specific Registers for the days specified in the Date Selection window. If the charts will not display on one page, use the Previous and Next buttons to browse through the pages in the charts. These buttons appear below the chart type descriptions. You may print the chart using the Print Active Tab button on the tool bar. Note: You may also use the File->Print Chart menu to perform this function. Figure 11: DB Charts Tab Bar Chart Example Figure 12: DB Charts Tab Pie Chart Example 12 of 22

Click the DB Reports tab (Figure 13 and Figure 14) to view the exception information in a tabular format. The report indicates the type and number of exceptions committed by specific Associates or from specific Registers. The exceptions listed in the report are based on the Transaction Filter criteria settings for the dates selected in the Date Selection window. If the report will not fit on one page, use the Navigation buttons to browse through the report. First Previous Next Last You may print the report using the Print Active Tab button on the tool bar. Note: You may also use the File->Print Report menu to perform this function. Figure 13: DB Reports Tab-Associates Report Example Figure 14: DB Reports Tab-Registers Report Example 13 of 22
