Patterson Imaging Multi-User Installation Instructions Install the Patterson Bridge on the Server machine only 1. Please review all installation instructions before beginning the installation. You should have one compact disc labeled Patterson Imaging. 2. Close all running programs. 3. Make a backup (same as daily backup). Before loading any new software, backup important office data. 4. Insert the compact disc into the CD-ROM drive. The following Installation screen will automatically appear. If not, click on Start and choose Run. Type D:\pi.exe in the open field. (If the CD-ROM drive on your computer is represented by a letter other than D, substitute the appropriate letter), and select OK. NOTE: For Canadian office installations; verify that regional settings are set to English- Canada on ALL Server/ Workstation machines. 5. Select the Install Patterson Imaging. 1
6. Select Next. 7. If prompted to install Microsoft.NET Framework 4.0 Full, select Install. (depending on what MS updates have been installed on the workstation(s)- you may not get this window) 8. Select the radio button to Accept the Terms. Select Next. 2
9. Enter your license number exactly as it appears. Select Next. The license number is located on the back of your CD holder. Select the Change button to install Patterson Imaging in a location other than the default 10. Select the applicable workstation configuration. If desired, select the checkbox to Startup Server at Boot to automatically start the server engine on logon. Select Next. WORKSTATION ONLY 1. Enter the name of the Server or select the Browse button to locate the Server machine. 3
2. After selecting Browse, locate the Server in the Choose Folder window and select OK. 3. After returning to the previous screen, select Next. 10. Verify the Summary Report and select Next. 11. Select Install. 4
12. Select Finish. 13. You will be prompted to reboot your computer prior to using Patterson Imaging. Select OK. Repeat this installation process on all computers using Patterson Imaging. After rebooting, the Finishing Patterson Installation window appears. Please be patient while the Installation finishes. 5
After you reboot your computer: The Patterson Auto Update (PAU) screen will appear. This new utility will allow you to receive future updates to Patterson Imaging over the Internet without using CDs. The first machine that is installed that has Internet access will be designated as the Portal machine. The other machines in your office will be designated as the Portal Client. Patterson recommends leaving the PAU to Daily. To set the frequency: 1. Select the Configuration tab. 2. Next, select the Base tab. 3. In the Update Checking area, set the Daily day number to determine how often to check for updates. OR 4. Select the Weekly radio button to check for updates once a week instead. 5. Select Save. 6

The following Installation screen will automatically appear. If not, click on Start and choose Run. Type D:\pi.exe in the open field. (If the CD-ROM drive on your computer is represented by a letter other than D, substitute the appropriate letter), and select OK. 15. Select Install Patterson Imaging Bridge. 16. Select Next. 17. Select the desired bridge and select Next. 7
18. Select Install. 19. Select Finish. After the bridge is launched for the first time, the PIBridge window appears giving you the option the register your software. Patterson Digital Integration Users 20. To install your digital integration option, insert the Patterson Imaging CD and select Start Run. Type D:\pi.exe in the open field. (If the CD-ROM drive on your computer is represented by a letter other than D, substitute the appropriate letter), and select OK. 21. Select Skip to Digital Integrations. 22.
