Datacard TruCredential software suite is a solution for creating, issuing, and managing secure IDs and credentials. The software allows organizations to meet a wide range of application requirements, from basic photo IDs to high-assurance credentials. 2. What is the integration between TruCredential and ISONAS Pure Access application? A new web service integration tool has been added to TruCredential 7.4 for interacting with ISONAS Pure Access application add-on. This allows Pure Access users the ability to integrate directly from TruCredential to Pure Access data in the cloud and on premise; providing search capabilities for existing records and ID badge printing in TruCredential. 3. How do I enable the ability to integrate to ISONAS Pure Access from TruCredential? To allow the integration from Pure Access to TruCredential the customer will need to purchase a license for the ISONAS Pure Access integration add-on along with the TruCredential software and required SMA. How is TruCredential software distributed? TruCredential software is distributed through an electronic (online) download. The software will be made available to customers for download through Entrust Datacard s new TrustedCare Community site. Customers are provided training materials and instructions for accessing and downloading the software electronically. Product Key(s) to activate the software will be distributed electronically. 8. Do you offer complimentary, entry level ID software with the purchase of a new Datacard printer? Yes. With the purchase of new Datacard printers that support TruCredential 7.4 you are eligible for a complimentary TruCredential Express software however the ISONAS Pure Access integration addon is not included and will need to be purchased along with the required SMA. 9. What printers are supported in TruCredential software v7.4? - SD160, SD260, SD260L, SD360, SD460 - CD800, CE840, CP80+ - SP25+, SP35+, SP55+, SP75+ - SR200 and SR300 - CR805 All Entrust Datacard printers have a warranty of 36 months with the exception of SD160, which has a 24 month warranty. 3 rd - Party supported printers - Matica* - Zebra* - Fargo* *Smartcard encoding currently not available in 3 rd party printers 10. I need to capture enrollment data from 5 workstations and print cards from a single workstation. Does TruCredential software support this functionality? Yes. You can license either TruCredential Professional or Enterprise edition for supporting distributed data capture and/or distributed issuance. Technical 11. TruCredential software is web based. Does Entrust Datacard host TruCredential software? No. The TruCredential software application and customer data will reside in the local customer environment. Entrust Datacard is not hosting the software on its premises. 12. What are the system requirements for TruCredential software? - Microsoft Windows 7 / 8 / 10 - Server 2012 R2 - Google Chrome v57.0 or later, Internet Explorer 11, Microsoft Edge - Screen resolution 1360 x 768 (minimum) - Laptop or desktop: o Single-workstation environment: 4GB RAM minimum on a TruCredential-dedicated machine (8GB RAM recommended) o Multiple-workstation environment For the server: 8GB RAM minimum (16GB RAM recommended) For each workstation: 4GB RAM minimum (8GB RAM recommended) Page 3 of 6
13. What databases are supported by TruCredential software? Microsoft Access, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, and H2 (embedded db) 14. Does TruCredential software use ODBC to connect to the databases? TruCredential software is Java based and it uses JDBC to connect to with supported databases. JDBC drivers are installed with TruCredential software. 15. Can you explain the difference between configuration, credential, and external databases support? Configuration Database Credential Database External Database TruCredential software ships with an embedded database called H2, an open source database. This embedded database holds the TruCredential software configurations data provided by Entrust Datacard. Partner or Customers cannot modify this configuration data. Embedded H2 database TruCredential software provides an ability for you to store and manage credential data (ex. employee records, student records, etc.) in the embedded H2 database. The Quick Start Wizard feature uses the embedded H2 database to automatically create tables and table connections. There is a limitation on the records stored in the embedded database. If you choose not to use the embedded database for credential data, you can use Microsoft-Access, Microsoft-SQL Server, DB2, or Oracle database for storing credential data. H2 or MS-Access, MS-SQL Server, DB2, or Oracle Besides storing credential data in the embedded database or in your own database, you can connect to external databases (Microsoft-Access, Microsoft- SQL Server, DB2 or Oracle) to send/receive data. MS-Access, MS-SQL Server, DB2, or Oracle 16. Is Microsoft Access database supported in the entry level edition (Express edition)? No, it is not supported in the Express edition. MS Access database is supported in Plus, Professional, and Enterprise editions. 17. Database Support Can we create multiple tables in the embedded database? Yes, you can create multiple tables in the TruCredential software embedded database (TruCredential software uses an open source H2 database as the default internal database). To accomplish this, you will use the Manage Table functionality in Field Connections. 18. What capture devices are supported by TruCredential software v7.4? DSLR Camera: TruCredential software supports the Canon ED SDK v3.5 for the Windows operating system. 19. What contactless smart card stocks are supported by TruCredential software? MIFARE DESFire EV1, MIFARE DESFire EV2, MIFARE Classic, HID Prox, HID iclass, HID iclass SE 20. Does TruCredential software work with biometrics devices for capturing fingerprints? Currently, TruCredential software does not support capturing fingerprints. 21. I see that Signature Capture supports Topaz signature pads. Are there just specific pad models that are supported? We have tested the T-LBK462-HSBR model. Other Topaz models are expected to work as long as they are supported by the Topaz SDK. 22. Smart Card Support Does this mean that we will be able to actually write to Mifare cards? Yes, using TruCredential Professional or Enterprise edition, you can perform read/write operations with the MiFARE Classic, MiFARE DESFire EV1, and MiFARE DESFire EV2. Service 23. Is an SMA (Software Maintenance Agreement) required or optional? An SMA is mandatory with the ISONAS Pure Access integration feature in all editions. 24. What is included in the TruCredential software SMA? Major version upgrades at no charge Access to software version updates and service packs Technical phone support and online support Re-hosting of product keys up to twice annually 25. What technical support is provided with an SMA? The SMA provides support to overcome any issue that would prevent customers from having the full functionality of the software within the described feature set of the purchased product.
