1 Create a.cibd File Open Mentor Graphics Xpedition PCB under Mentor Graphics SDD\Layout\Expedition PCB: Figure 1. Open Mentor Graphics Xpedition Let the default license take effect when the pop up appears; I believe it defaults to Pinnacle. Wait for several minutes for Expedition to actually open, there is no indication it is happening and if you open it twice that will corrupt the data base and make the file open as Read Only. White Paper /Document Number: 052889-1.0 5

From Expedition database: Figure 2. Export to HyperLynx 6 White Paper /Document Number: 052889-1.0

The Info shows Results in HyperLynxOut.txt; look in the PCB\LogFiles directory (file name blocked): Figure 3. HyperLynxOut Text File White Paper /Document Number: 052889-1.0 7

All that file had was an indication of whether the process completed successfully: Figure 4. Process Completed Confirmation The CIBD file path was shown in the PCB\LogFiles\HyperLYnxDRCExport.log: Figure 5. CIBD File Path 8 White Paper /Document Number: 052889-1.0

The CIBD file can be found in the PCB\Output\HLDRC directory: Figure 6. File Directory Xpedition does not provide the option to rename the file, so the file name matches the.pcb file name in the main directory: Figure 7. File Name There will be an Output\HLDRC folder where the.cibd file will be saved. White Paper /Document Number: 052889-1.0 9
