1. System Wide Changes 1.1 Updated the opera ng system on Gen2 20/20 displays In so ware 2016.0, some 20/20 systems would reboot to a Warranty Acceptance screen, and the Planter Configura on would have to be restored from backup. In 2016.6 so ware, this issue was resolved for many 20/20 systems, however a small percentage remained with this issue. In 2017 so ware, opera ng system upgrades have been performed that further improve data robustness. 1.2 Added a 6 item mode to the home screen In all previous versions of SeedSense, there have always been four display bu ons on the le hand side of the screen (Popula on, Singula on, Down Force, and Good Spacing or the small map). Star ng in 2017 so ware, growers will have the ability to select between four or six display bu ons. Example of a Six Display Bu on Home Screen To configure the home screen press either the Dash View bu on at the bo om right hand corner of the home screen or select Setup Systems Display Dashboard View. For both the four and six bu on Display Bu ons op ons; Popula on, Singula on, and Down Force will always be displayed. The remaining Bu on(s) can be selected from: Spacing, the Small Map, Product 1 (Liquid), and Product 2 (Liquid).
2017 Dashboard View Configura on Op ons Configure Dashboard Bu ons Change the number of smaller bu ons on the right hand side of the screen as well as what bu ons are shown. Configure Classic Dashboard Change between four or six Display bu ons on the le hand side of the screen. Configure Full Map Select which three metrics will be displayed on the le side of the screen when viewing the Full/Large Map. 1.3 Changed the default se ng to the Display Mini Chart The Display Mini Chart found at the bo om of the home screen was changed so the default se popula on instead of singula on at start up. ng is 1.4 Incremental Backup and Restore To and From a USB drive A new Backup/Restore op on has been added to the 2017 so ware. This new tool backs up both plan ng and harvest data, as well as plan ng/system configura ons, prescrip ons/boundaries, and coverage maps. This tool will be located under the Data Tab and called Backup / Restore. From this screen data can be backup up to a USB s ck as well as check the status of when the last backup has been done. If backing up data a second me with same USB drive only addi onal data accumulated since the last backup will be added to the exis ng backup file on the USB s ck. If a different USB drive is used a complete backup will be exported to the USB drive. Addi onally, if a 20/20 needs to be restored use the same USB s ck and press either Restore Config to only import the planter and system configura ons or press Restore All to bring back all data, prescrip ons/boundaries, and coverage maps.
It is recommended that all growers perform backups of their system as well as keep a copy of en re seasons of data on USB s cks. None of the other export/import configura on op ons have changed. 1.5 Dele ng of old coverage maps In 2016 so ware, the 20/20 would some mes not permit coverage maps to be deleted. This issue is resolved with 2017 so ware. 1.6 Changing crops through the FieldView Cab app In 2016 so ware, if the user changed ac ve crops through the FIeldView Cab app, some se ngs, including Seeds/Disk, would not be changed. In 2017 so ware, this has been resolved, and a crop change through FieldView will properly set the Seeds/Disk value. 1.7 RowFlow Curve Adjust se ng now defaults to Off On new RowFlow systems, the default se se ng for Curve Adjust. ng for Curve Adjust is now Off. Exis ng systems will retain their 1.8 Added support for GNSS and GLOSNASS NMEA strings Several GPS and guidance systems now report Global Naviga on (GN) strings or talkers. In 2016 and previous so ware, only Global Posi oning (GP) talkers were supported. In 2017 so ware, both Global Posi oning (GP) talkers and Global Naviga on (GN) talkers are supported. GPS or guidance systems can be configured to use either communica on style.
2. DeltaForce 2.1 Added support for Case IH 2100 series Load Sensor When selec ng the load sensor for a Case IH planter there is now an addi onal op on for the Case IH 2000 series planter. The previous sensor was renamed as a Case IH 1200 Load Sensor. 2.2 Enable re zeroing when all Load Sensors report a bad zero If the user conducted a re zeroing of the Load Sensors at an inappropriate me, then the 20/20 may ignore that sensor. In 2016 so ware, if all sensors become ignored, the 20/20 would not permit a re zero opera on to occur. In 2017 so ware, this behavior has been resolved, so that a re zero opera on is now permi ed. 3. vapply HD and FlowSense 3.1 vapplyhd control and monitoring support added vapplyhd is an on row liquid control product that incorporates flow measurement and control into a single device. It allows for highly accurate row by row control so you can execute your fer lity plan across the en re range of applica on rates for all passes of the field. Addi onally it controls for swath, curves, speed changes, and rate changes on a row by row basis. vapplyhd can be enabled on the Planter Setup page and then configured in the new Liquid Setup page in the systems menu.
Liquid prescrip ons can be assigned on the field setup page next to where a seeding prescrip on can be assigned. Note that the prescrip on file for liquid must be the same file as is used for seeding. 3.2 FlowSense monitoring support added FlowSense is a liquid flow meter that measures flow at the row unit. as one row and as many as all rows on the planter. FlowSense can be installed on as few FlowSense can be enabled on the Planter Setup page and then configured in the new Liquid Setup page in the systems menu.
*Note For all new liquid systems, addi onal informa on can be found in the tech docs sec on of cloud.precisionplan ng.com
4. vdrive, vset Select, vdrive Insec cide 4.1 Added support for insec cide prescrip on execu on Growers can now use implement Insec cide prescrip ons for vdrive Insec cide. Prescrip ons must be wri en in lbs/acre format. When vdrive Insec cide is set as the Insec cide system on the planter setup page, the Insec cide Prescrip on op on will be available on the Field setup page. Note that the prescrip on file for insec cide must be the same file as is used for seeding. Use a different a ribute within the prescrip on for seeding and insec cide. 4.2 Seed Corn Mode enables insec cide applica on without dropping seed To set this mode up, first enable Seed Corn mode from vdrive Insec cide Setup Screen by pressing on the Advanced Setup (right hand side of the screen) and then selec ng vdrive Insec cide Seed Corn Setup. Then select the rows that will be dispensing insec cide, but not seeding by pressing on the row numbers to enable them. Next, configure two drive sec ons as follows: the seeding Seed Corn rows should be specified in one drive sec on, and configure the non seeding rows as a second drive sec on. Configure the first drive sec on normally. Configure the second drive sec on with a manual rate of zero.
4.3 Added Low Flow insec cide meter type On the vdrive Insec cide setup page select between PP Standard or PP Low Flow as the meter type. It is necessary that the meter type installed on the planter matches the meter type selected on this page. 4.4 vset Select hybrid data recording improvements In 2016 so ware, the Diagnose page, and external tools like the Precision Plan ng FODD may not properly report vset Select data. In 2017 so ware, and when using the latest FODD driver, vset Select data is properly reported on the Diagnose page, as well as in desktop so ware when using the latest FODD.
