Chapter 1 Overview This document contains information about obtaining the SAS licensing file, called the setinit, and applying it to DataFlux products. Each of the following chapters is dedicated to a single DataFlux product. You should refer to the chapter that refers to the DataFlux products that you have. Page 1

Chapter 2 DataFlux Data Management Studio Use the following steps to obtain and apply a setinit for DataFlux Data Management Studio. 1. Obtain a SAS setinit from http://support.sas.com/adminservices/contact.html. You will receive an e-mail with the SAS setinit. 2. Save the SAS setinit to a location that DataFlux Data Management Studio has access to. 3. On the computer where DataFlux Data Management Studio is installed, select Start Programs DataFlux License Manager. The DataFlux Data Management Studio License Manager dialog box is displayed. Licensing SAS DataFlux Products 4. In the DataFlux Data Management Studio License Manager dialog box, select SAS License as the primary licensing method. 3

Licensing SAS DataFlux Products 5. In the SAS License file section of the dialog box, specify the location of the SAS setinit. Note: SAS license names can be different from version to version. 6. Click OK. 4

Chapter 3 DataFlux Data Management Server Use the following steps to obtain and apply a setinit for DataFlux Data Management Server. 1. Obtain a SAS setinit from http://support.sas.com/adminservices/contact.html. You will receive an e-mail with the SAS setinit. 2. Save the SAS setinit to a location that the DataFlux Data Management Server has access to. 3. On the computer where DataFlux Data Management Server is installed, modify the app.cfg file located in the etc directory of the installation. The app.cfg file has two settings must be modified. a. Ensure the setting for the license is set to SAS. For example, base/primary_license = SAS b. Ensure the location of the license is set. UNIX example base/primary_license_loc = /opt/dataflux/file_name.file_extension Windows example base/primary_license_loc = C:\Program Files\DataFlux\DMServer\2.x\etc\license\file_name.file_extension 4. Restart the DataFlux Data Management Server. Page 5

Chapter 4 DataFlux Federation Server Use the following steps to obtain and apply a setinit for DataFlux Federation Server. Note: These steps apply only to the DataFlux Federation Server (Release 3.1 and earlier) and not to the SAS Federation Server. 1. Obtain a SAS setinit from http://support.sas.com/adminservices/contact.html. You will receive an e-mail with the SAS setinit. 2. Save the SAS setinit to a location that the DataFlux Federation Server has access to. 3. On the computer where the DataFlux Federation Server is installed, modify the dfs_serv.xml file in order to update the provider and the location. See the examples below. UNIX syntax <OptionSet name="license"> <OptionSet name="primary"> <Option name="provider">sas</option> <Option name="location"> /opt/dataflux/file_name.file_extension</option> </OptionSet> Windows Syntax <OptionSet name="license"> <OptionSet name="primary"> <Option name="provider">sas</option> <Option name="location"> C:\Program Files\DataFlux\FederationServer\2.x\etc\license\file_name.file _extension</option> </OptionSet> 4. Restart the DataFlux Federation Server. Page 6

Chapter 5 DataFlux Authentication Server Use the following steps to obtain and apply a setinit for DataFlux Authentication Server. 1. Obtain a SAS setinit from http://support.sas.com/adminservices/contact.html. You will receive an e-mail with the SAS setinit. 2. Save the SAS setinit to a location that the DataFlux Authentication Server has access to. 3. On the computer where the DataFlux Authentication Server is installed, you might have to modify the as_serv_aspsql.xml file in order to update the provider and the location. The provider should be SAS. See the examples below. Chapter 6 DataFlux dfpower Studio Use the following steps to obtain and apply a setinit for DataFlux dfpower Studio. 1. Obtain a SAS setinit from http://support.sas.com/adminservices/contact.html. You will receive an e-mail with the SAS setinit. 2. Save the SAS setinit to a location that the DataFlux dfpower Studio has access to. 3. Click Start Programs DataFlux dfpower Studio 8.x License Manager. In the DataFlux License Manager dialog box, select the Licensing method and specify the Location of the SAS setinit. Note: SAS license names can be different from version to version. Page 8

Chapter 7 DataFlux Integration Server Use the following steps to obtain and apply a setinit for DataFlux Integration Server. UNIX Instructions 1. Obtain a SAS setinit from http://support.sas.com/adminservices/contact.html. You will receive an e-mail with the SAS setinit. 2. Save the SAS setinit to a location that the DataFlux Integration Server has access to. 3. Specify the SAS license mode. From the bin directory of the DataFlux Integration Server installation, run dflm in order to determine the mode of the license. In order to change the mode to SAS, run dflm m. See the example below. 4. In the dfexec.cfg file, confirm that the license location is set. license location = /opt/dataflux/file_name.file_extension 5. Restart the DataFlux Integration Server. Licensing SAS DataFlux Products Windows Instructions 1. Obtain a SAS setinit from http://support.sas.com/adminservices/contact.html. You will receive an e-mail with the SAS setinit. 2. Save the SAS setinit to a location that the DataFlux Integration Server has access to. 3. Click Start Programs DataFlux dfpower Studio 8.x License Manager. In the DataFlux License Manager dialog box, select the Licensing method and specify the Location of the SAS setinit. Note: SAS license names can be different from version to version. 4. Restart the DataFlux Integration Server 10

Chapter 8 DataFlux dfintelliserver Use the following steps to obtain and apply a setinit for DataFlux dfintelliserver. UNIX Instructions 1. Obtain a SAS setinit from http://support.sas.com/adminservices/contact.html. You will receive an e- mail with the SAS setinit. 2. Save the SAS setinit to a location that the DataFlux dfintelliserver has access to. 3. On the computer where DataFlux dfintelliserver is installed, modify the dfserv.cfg file located in the etc directory of the installation. Specify the license location value to the location of the SAS setinit. For example: license_location = /opt/dataflux/file_name.file_extension 4. In the bin directory of the installation, execute./dflm m in order to run the License Manager. Select option 3 to change the license mode to SAS, as in the example that follows. Prompt>./dflm m DataFlux License Manager Current licensing mode: DataFlux (FLEXnet) Current licensing version: 1.1 Available licensing modes: 1: DataFlux (FLEXnet) 2: DataFlux (Legacy) 3: SAS Enter the mode number to activate or 'x' to exit: 3 Changed licensing mode to SAS. 5. Restart the DataFlux dfintelliserver. Windows Instructions 1. Obtain a SAS setinit from http://support.sas.com/adminservices/contact.html. You will receive an e- mail with the SAS setinit. 2. Save the SAS setinit to a location that the DataFlux dfintelliserver has access to. 3. On the computer where DataFlux dfintelliserver is installed, select Start Programs DataFlux dfintelliserver Service Monitor. Select Stop the Daemon to stop DataFlux dfintelliserver. Page 11

4. Select Start Programs DataFlux dfintelliserver Licensing. The Licensing dialog box opens. 5. In the Licensing dialog box, click the Change link beside the Licensing Mode field. 12

6. In the Set Licensing Mode dialog box that opens, select SAS from the list and then click Change Mode. 7. After the Set Licensing Mode dialog box closes, click Close Window in the Licensing dialog box. 13

8. In the Service Monitor dialog box, click the Change your environment settings link. Specify the location of the SAS setinit for DFIS_LICENSE. Note: SAS license names can be different from version to version. 9. Click OK. 10. Restart the DataFlux dfintelliserver. 14
