Substitute Application Instructions I. Website Navigation To begin the application process, visit the Greenville County Schools website. Click on the Employment tab and choose Classified Positions. On the Classified Positions screen, locate the Sub Hiring information at the top of the page as shown below. Click on the Substitute External Applicant Instruction Guide for step by step instructions. Select Apply to the Substitute Pool to start your application. Updated 12/15/2017 Page 1 of 10
II. Candidate Space Select the Login box as shown below. The first time you access Candidate Space select to create an account and build a profile. After your account is created, enter the email address and password created during registration to access Candidate Space and skip to Section V-Job Listings on page 8 of these instructions. IV. My Profile The My Profile page shown below will display. You may select the pencil icon to edit each section. At the top of each page, detailed directions are provided, use the arrow keys on the right to scroll and read all directions. Please note the Work Preferences section is optional. IV. My Profile In the Talent Profile section, please pay special attention to providing your Employment, Education, Credentials (if applicable), Identification Number and Attachments. These are all crucial in your profile and necessary for us to consider your application. Update your information by clicking on the appropriate tab, for example the Employment tab and select. At the top of each page, detailed directions are provided, use the arrow keys on the right to scroll and read all directions. IV. My Profile Credentials Tab Instructions: If you have a South Carolina teaching certificate, please complete the Credentials tab. Each area of licensure and endorsement should be entered separately in the Credentials Tab. IV. My Profile On the Professional Certification, enter the license number in the credential number field and the dates as shown below: Enter the first date in the Validity Period Enter the first date in the Validity Period in the Most Recent Renewal and the last date in Validity Period in the Expiration. Enter the Areas of Licensure as shown below. Attachments Tab Instructions: In the Attachments section, add documents such as certifications, college transcripts, and a resume. V. Job Listings After your profile is complete or you return to your account, you will see links near the top, left of the page. The Job Listings link will display all open positions. The My Profile link will allow you to edit your Profile. The My Job Cart link will display any positions you added to your job cart from the Job Listings link. The My Applications link will display any previously submitted applications. When you click on the Job Listings link, you will see a screen similar to the example below. In the Category field enter substitute and select Search Jobs. The Substitute Pool will be displayed in the list. Double click on the Substitute Pool to start your application. VI. Applying for a Job Click on to begin the application process. If you want to apply for this position at a later time, you may click on to add to your Job Cart. The application will guide you through a series of pages (Review Profile, Consent, Questions, Acknowledgement, Information) before you are able to Submit your application on the final page. Progress through the application by clicking at the bottom of each page; however, if you would like to make changes to your application before submitting, you may click on to revie to review previous pages. VI. Applying for a Job Once your application has been submitted successfully, you will receive a message similar to the example below: (Applicant), your application has been received. Thank you! Please check your email for an automated message from the Human Resources Department indicating your application was received as well as an email with a link to initiate a background check.
