1. Preface This document is a guide to how to use Acer EsayLink utility. It describes the procedure of installation and functions bundled with Acer EsayLink utility, including Launch program, Select device, Select APN settings and Connect/Disconnect. 2. Installation This section describes the procedure for manually installing Acer EasyLink utility. After double clicking installer program of Acer EasyLink, user will see following dialogs, please follow instruction to install program step by step. The installation procedure includes two parts, device driver and utility Because the device driver will be installed, it suggests that plugs in Acer Android phone first before executing installation. Please follow below procedure to install device driver. 3

As device driver is installed successfully, above dialog will be shown and the status of device is shown by Ready to use. Then follow below procedures to continue installing Acer EasyLink utility. 5

After Acer EasyLink utility is installed successfully, a shortcut icon will be shown in desktop. 7
3. Launch Program Program can be launched via double clicking following icon shown in desktop as Acer EasyLink is installed successfully. Shortcut icon in desktop In addition, program also can be launched from following path shown in Start Menu. Win 7 8

After program is launched successfully, following dialog will be shown in desktop and an icon also be shown in system tray icon area. Main UI screen Tray icon - Win 7 Tray icon - Vista Tray icon - XP 10
4. Select Device As program is launched first time, a device should be selected first before using Acer EasyLink. Before clicking Select Device button shown in main UI screen, please plug USB cable between computer and device. Device will be shown in the dialog as clicking Select Device button. Selecting device wanted to link to and clicking Select button to confirm. On the other hand, the device status can be updated via clicking Refresh button. UI for selecting device As a device is selected, the Connect shown in main UI screen will be enabled. It means device is ready to use for accessing to Internet. Except for changing device, device only needs to be selected one time. 11
When a device is selected, the utility can be used directly next time as this device is plugged. 5. Select APN Settings After selecting device, the next step before accessing to Internet is to select corresponding APN settings. All APN settings for the operator of mobile phone are listed in main UI screen. Please select corresponding APN settings according to the operator used by mobile phone. 6. Connect/Disconnect As device is ready to use for accessing to Internet and corresponding APN settings are selected, clicking Connect button in main UI screen to create 3G data connection via mobile phone connected to computer. 3G data connection also can be established via clicking Connect in popup menu of tray icon. If 3G data connection is established first time, the dial-up connection settings named EasyLink will automatically created. The dial-up connection settings will be automatically re-created as 3G data connection is established if dial-up connection settings don t be detected. Win 7 13

As 3G data connection is established successfully, the color of line between computer and device shown in main UI screen will be changed to green and the tray icon will be shown with green Check icon. The 3G data connection can be terminated as clicking Disconnect button shown in main UI screen or popup menu of tray icon. 15
