BT Web Hosting Features and functionality
1 Hopefully you will now have a website that is activated and potentially even published. This guide will take you through some of the additional features and functionality available with BT Hosting Adding new pages Adding a new page can be achieved in a few simple steps, these are:- 1) Within ESW, click on within the menu bar 2) This will bring up the page editor screen. Click on 3) Follow the instructions. Please ensure the file name contains no spaces. 4) Select Apply 5) You are then taken to a pictorial view of your current pages, from here click create new button 6) Where it states Label, add in the page name you would like to be displayed 7) Finally, where it says link to select page and find the page in the dropdown list
2 BT Web Hosting Starter Pack guide Changing menu layout You may which to change the position of where pages are displayed on the menu layout button. This can be easily achieved by clicking on Menu Editor with the menu button widget on your website. On the next page, click the arrows to position the pages according to your preference. Once you are happy with the position, click Done. 3 Editing page properties Within EasySiteWizard you are able to easily change the page properties. Changing page properties allows you to edit the page title, page summary, page name and keywords, which is important for search engine optimisation
BT Web Hosting Starter Pack guide 4 Editing images Within the Quick Start Guide, you would have learnt how to insert images. The following information shows you how to edit images. Once you have inserted an image, double click on the image to bring up image controllers. From here you can change the image properties, edit the image or duplicate the image, You can also delete the image by clicking the red X or resize the image by dragging the corners of the image. To change the image properties click on from here you will be able to Add a Link so that when the image is clicked on, it will take the user to another page (either on your own website or another website). You can also add a border to the image you have selected. Clicking on the Edit button brings up the image editor tool make it black and white, change the colour etc where you can rotate the image, Finally, if you click out of the image (so the box with the white squares disappears), and then right click over the image, you can move the image backwards or forwards.
BT Web Hosting Starter Pack guide 5 Editing text Once you have inserted text, double click on the text box to bring up image controllers. From here you can delete the image box, or duplicate it. You can also edit the text. Highlight the text very carefully to ensure you are highlighting everything you wish to change but do not highlight any open space that isn t text. Once you have highlighted the text, you can make the text bold by clicking, italic or underline. You can also change the text further by clicking on From here, you can change the text alignment, font type, font size and also the colour, Finally, you can change the text to form a bulleted list by clicking on on or make it a heading by clicking
6 Creating a Hyperlink To add a link to your website, you will need to follow these steps:- BT Web Hosting Starter Pack guide 1) Add the text you would like to turn into a hyperlink e.g. visit my product page here 2) Highlight the text, then click on 3) From here, you will be able to choose whether you want the link to point to a URL, e.g. www.mywebsite123.com or to a page you have set up within your own website, or to a file which you can upload. You can decide whether you would like the link to open in a new window or to redirect the customer from the page they are on, to the new page 4) Finally, to change the colour of the hyperlink, add a space before the hyperlink in the text box and then highlight the hyperlink plus the space and select
BT Web Hosting Starter Pack guide 7 Building a Blog Adding a blog is an additional feature with BT Web Hosting that is accessed outside of EasySiteWizard within the BT Website Centre (where you access your EasySiteWizard). Click and then select Blog Wizard. Insert the necessary data and then click Next at the top, right hand side of the blog wizard. Please ensure the username you enter has no spaces. The select the template you would like your blog to be hosted on. You will then be able to select from a variety o add-on s by clicking the green arrow button. Then press Next. At this stage, you can either insert your first post or just click Next. Your blog is complete. Please make a note of the URL so you can hyperlink it from your website if you wish. There are additional areas of functionality available for editing. To add a new user click on User Management and follow the steps. Or to edit your blog, click on Blog Editor where you can create a new post, manage posts, manage categories and manage comments.
8 BT Web Hosting Starter Pack guide Photo Gallery Adding a photo gallery is an additional feature with BT Web Hosting that is accessed outside of EasySiteWizard within the BT Website Centre (where you access your EasySiteWizard). Click and then select. Please insert the name of the album and description. You also have the opportunity to change the text colour, style and colour of the album. Click on Save Changes, then Next. You will then have the option to either add your photos through your browser or using FTP. As well as decide the order of your photos. Mnvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvcccccccccc Once you have uploaded the photos, you will be taken to a page where you can edit the photo title, add an image tag and an image description. When you are happy with the photo album, click Next, and the album will publish to www.yourdomain.co.uk/photoalbums/albumtitle this will be unique to your photo album and you will need to make a note of it so you can hyperlink it from your website if you wish.
9 BT Web Hosting Starter Pack guide Appointment scheduler Adding an Appointment schedule is an additional feature with BT Web Hosting that is accessed outside of EasySiteWizard within the BT Website Centre (where you access your EasySiteWizard). Click on and then Appointment Scheduler. Follow the instructions and you will be taken to the editor. Start by inserting your company details within the Company tab and then select Apply. Please remember to select apply before moving to the next tab. With the Booking Hours tab, specify your own hours of business by selecting the day you wish to alter, and then add the relevant details (open or closed, times of opening etc). You will also be able to edit how long each appointment is scheduled to late up to a maximum of 90 minutes. Click on Messages tab to add an introductory message, booking message and confirmation message. These messages will be displayed to your end customers. Finally, select the Preference tabs where you can change the look and feel of your appointment scheduler. Click on to change the colour. Once you have finished editing your appointment scheduler, please click back on within the drop down list. You will then have a link to let you view your appointment scheduler - it so you can hyperlink it from your website if you wish. You will need to make a note of

Before you do so, make sure you save any changes and preview the site by clicking Preview. In order to publish your site, simply click on Publish. Congratulations!
