ISSN: 1932-9466 AAM Guide for Authors Application and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM) invites contributors from throughout the world to submit their original manuscripts for review and possible publication in AAM. Part I. SUBMISSION of a MANUSCRIPT 1. Ethics Policy, Copyrights and Permissions Authors are asked to refer to the AAM s Code of Conduct. 2. A Manuscript to be submitted to the AAM should be rewritten professionally and grammatically correct with no typos, using US English language. It should be prepared with either Microsoft Word 2010 or PDF format, single-column, single-spaced and in Times New Roman font with font size-12 points. Manuscripts should be addressed, electronically, to the Editor-in-Chief at amhaghighi@pvamu.edu. Please note: E-mails correspondences with rediffmail.com will not be accepted and will be deleted. 3. Along with the manuscript, authors need to submit the following: (i) a separate Abstract sheet and (ii) a potential reviewers list containing names, academic affiliations, full physical addresses, and current e-mail addresses of at least 5 international potential reviewers, 2 of whom must be from the AAM Editorial Board according to the subject of the manuscript and the rest must be from different countries than authors live. Please note that incorrect information may elongate the review duration. AAM_Guides_for_Authors, Revised: January 31, 2017 Page 1 of 6

4. The receipt of a manuscript will be acknowledged by the Editor-in-Chief and if minimally complies with AAM manuscript submission requirements, a reference number will be assigned to the manuscript. However, if manuscript is accepted for publication, to submit the final version, the authors must fully comply with all AAM policies and regulations. 5. Copyright and Ownership. Authors are asked to refer to the AAM s Code of Conduct for the section on Copyright and Ownership. 6. Manuscript Withdrawal Authors are asked to refer to the AAM s Code of Conduct for the section on Manuscript Withdrawal. Part II. AAM Standard Formatting of a Manuscript 1. AAM Manuscript formatting and order of Items i. The entire manuscript should be with Time New Roman font, with font-size 12 points, unless otherwise stated. i. Manuscript s title (to be short with no symbols or special characters, bold with 16 point font size) ii. iii. iv. Authors information, affiliations and e-mails addresses (first and last names, affiliations and addresses, with no title, rank, telephone numbers or date) with no period at the end Abstract, one paragraph only (between 250 to 500 words, with no symbols, special characters, references, or year) Keywords/Expressions (between 7 to 10 words and/or expressions) separated with semicolon and with no period at the end v. MSC 2010 primary and secondary numbers, 5 digits with no x, and with no period at the end. Mathematics Subject Classification, MSC, can be found at http://www.ams.org/msc/. vi. vii. Introduction (starting with section number 1, that is, 1. Introduction, with no indention) Manuscript s body viii. Conclusion (with separate section number to include results and future studies; it should contain at least 500 words) ix. Acknowledgment (after the manuscript has been accepted, unless the manuscript is sponsored by an agency that requires recognition) x. References (at least 10 other than those published by the authors and should be up-to-date with 40% during the last 5 years and it should be alphabetically ordered) xi. xii. Appendices (if necessary) Authors biographical note, not to exceed 150 words for each author (optional) xiii. A submitted manuscript should be numbered at the center bottom; however, the numbers should be removed when submitting the final version after it has been accepted. xix. Manuscripts should have no footnotes. 3. AAM Manuscript Standard Text Formatting i. The entire text font should be Times New Roman. ii. iii. iv. The text font-size is 12 points, unless otherwise stated. Section title s font size is 14 points. Margins should be 1, 1, 1, and 1 in up, down, right and left, respectively. v. Text (including the Abstract and References) should be single-spaced. vi. vii. viii. ix. When submitting a manuscript, it should numbered, center in the bottom. There should be a reasonably adequate Literature Review. It should contain at least 10 other than those published by authors and should be up-to-date with 40% during the last 5 years. Do not indent a paragraph. There should be a space between the Section Title and the paragraph that follows it. x. Leave a space after titles such as Definition, Theorem, Proof:, Example, Case, etc. xi. xii. The word Proof for a theorem should be bold, italic, with a colon after it and a space before and after it, such as: Proof:. There should be one space between paragraphs. AAM_Guides_for_Authors, Revised: January 31, 2017 Page 3 of 6

xiii. xiv. xv. xvi. xvii. xviii. xix. xx. xxi. There should be space between words. There should be one space between text and a stand-alone formula. All formulae must be indented 0.3 inches from the left or be centered. An equation s number should be on the extreme right of it. Proper punctuations (.,,., ;, : ) should be inserted in appropriate places, particularly, at the end of formulas. Use therefore for triangular three dots. Normally,, goes before where. Long paragraphs should be broken into short ones. All mathematical symbols and formulae should follow the mathematical standards such as italicization, etc. xxii. Number of dots for etcetera should be only three, as "...". xxiii. References within the text should be as, for example, Montazer-Haghighi (1976), Haghighi and Mishev (2016), or Haghighi et al. (2013). xxiv. In citing a paper with more than two authors, the last name of the firs author followed by et al. should be used. However, in References at the end, all authors names, with last name first, should be listed. xxv. For References at the end, no number, bracket or bracketed number should be used. xxvi. Equation and Figure should not be abbreviated. Eq., Eqs., Fig., that is, Figs. must be spelled out. xxvii. Tables need to have titles (or description) and they should be written on top of the tables. For instance, Table 1. Result of Data Analysis for Example 1.2. xxviii. Figures need to have captions (or descriptions) and they should be written below the figures. For instance, Figure 1. Graph of a tandem queue with splitting xxix. Statement of Theorems, Definition, etc. should not be italicized. xxx. A numbered formula should not include a text expression unless it is a part of the formula. xxxi. A long formula must be broken into parts to fit a line according to the AAM standards. xxxii. A block of large set of formulas should be broken with no block larger than two lines. xxxiii. In a broken formula, arithmetic operators ( +, -, / and or x ) such as addition and multiplication should be on the left of the continued line). xxxiv Here are some examples for formatting Definition, Theorem : etc.: (a) Definition 1.1. Statements. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ (b) Lemma 1.1. Statements. Proof: Statements. xxxv.
