compression fittings

principle of universal compression fittings The range is called universal as it offers the maximum number of direct fitting alternatives with the minimum number of components. Tube threading and soldering are unnecessary. Universal compression fittings are designed to solve all fluid distribution problems and provide a complete system of fittings suited to all types of tubing, cylinders and valve assemblies thanks to the flexibility offered by the vast range of accessories : olives, sleeve nuts, reducers, tube adaptors. All components conform to at least one of the following standards : ISO, ETOP, ANOR, NOMO. fitting instructions Each egris compression fitting comprises a body, olive and sleeve nut. ut the tube square, deburr inner and outer edges ; If required, any bending of the tube must be completed prior to connection. Push the sleeve nut onto the tube. or large diameters, lubricate the inside of the nut to facilitate tightening. it the olive onto the end of the tube, after the sleeve nut. irmly push the tube fully home against the shoulder of the body of the fitting. Tightening of the nut enables the olive to bite into the tube and secures the fully assembled fitting. It is recommended that a ferrule is inserted into ''soft'' tubing, such as nylon and polyurethane tubing, in order to stabilise the tube wall during assembly. Technical specification Details of fittings specifications for use with copper,, steel or nylon tubing can be found on page D4 and D5 of this section. Please consult us regarding applications which include thermal shocks or excessive vibration. The table below shows the standard recommended compatibility of tube size, BSP male thread and maximum passage diameter. steel tube steel olive 04-40 Ø tube o.d. corresponding BSP thread maximum passage (mm) copper tube reduction piece 066 4-5-6 G/8 4 6-8-0 G/4 7 0--4 G3/8 4-5-6-8 G/ 4 steel sleeve nut 00-40 8-0- G3/4 8-5-8 G 4 tailpiece adaptor Minimum tube length () required between two fittings compression fitting body olive 04/0 plastic tube ød mini () () () 4 6,5 39 0 5 5 6 4 4 54 6 6 5 4 5 6 8 3 6 46,5 8 6 0 39 8 49,5 D

complementary fittings the egris reduction assembly This patented accessory enables a smaller tube size to be used with the standard egris coupling designed for larger sized tube. Tube may be copper,, nylon, thin wall steel (wall thickness mm). or example the following can be connected to a 4 mm equal cross connector : a 4 mm nylon tube a 8 mm copper tube a mm tube a 4 mm braided PV hose The reduction assembly comprises three components. ➀ the reduction piece, which fits inside the fitting body. ➁ the universal compression olive which fits on the end of the tube and is inserted between the reduction piece and the sleeve nut. ➂ the sleeve nut The egris reduction assembly allows a lower stockholding of fittings (57 alternative reductions are available). enables less complicated system designs. ➀ ➁ ➂ which is slightly longer than the standard sleeve nut in order to accommodate the extended length of the reduction piece. allows connection of several tube diameters within one fitting. egris reducers may be used with the 0 tailpiece adaptor for rubber hose, the 065 tailpiece adaptor for nylon hose and blanking plug 06. fully assembled unit 066 reduction assembly 4 5 066 04 05 3 0,0 5 6 066 05 06 3 0,0 4 6 066 04 06 3 0,0 6 8 066 06 08 4 0,0 5 8 066 05 08 4 0,03 4 8 066 04 08 4 0,04 8 0 066 08 0 9 0,07 6 0 066 06 0 9 0,030 5 0 066 05 0 9 0,030 4 0 066 04 0 9 0,03 0 066 0 0,037 8 066 08 0,040 6 066 06 0,043 5 066 05 0,044 4 066 04 0,045 4 066 4 4 0,043 0 4 066 0 4 4 0,046 8 4 066 08 4 4 0,05 6 4 066 06 4 4 0,05 5 4 066 05 4 4 0,053 4 4 066 04 4 4 0,054 5 066 5 4 0,045 0 5 066 0 5 4 0,048 8 5 066 08 5 4 0,053 6 5 066 06 5 4 0,055 4 5 066 04 5 4 0,058 4 6 066 4 6 7 0,060 6 066 6 7 0,07 0 6 066 0 6 7 0,069 8 6 066 08 6 7 0,076 6 6 066 06 6 7 0,078 5 6 066 05 6 7 0,077 6 8 066 6 8 30 0,078 5 8 066 5 8 30 0,080 4 8 066 4 8 30 0,084 8 066 8 30 0,090 0 8 066 0 8 30 0,097 8 8 066 08 8 30 0,099 8 0 066 8 0 3 0,080 6 0 066 6 0 3 0,089 4 0 066 4 0 3 0,097 0 066 0 3 0,0 0 0 066 0 0 3 0,04 8 066 8 36 0,0 6 066 6 36 0, 5 066 5 36 0,30 4 066 4 36 0,3 066 36 0,35 0 066 0 36 0,45 0 5 066 0 5 4 0,66 8 5 066 8 5 4 0,78 6 5 066 6 5 4 0,74 4 5 066 4 5 4 0,90 5 066 5 4 0,95 0 5 066 0 5 4 0,05 8 066 8 4 0,69 8 8 066 8 8 4 0,80 Ø D = tube to be fitted Ø D = for a x mm fitting Each of the above part numbers comprises : - a reduction piece - an olive : ref 04 - a sleeve nut : ref 00 D7

quick-acting barbed fittings for self-fastening tube Exclusively designed to be connected to self-fastening tubing (see Tubes and Hoses section), egris quick-acting barbed fittings are perfectly adapted to modern requirements of industry, such as automation. onnection is quick and easy : - no grease or oil is needed to lubricate the tube and no preparation time is required. Safety for both installer and user is safeguarded since the tube when pushed onto the fitting butts against and beneath the grey collar visually confirming correct connection. - to disconnect, cut the tube with a knife on the barbed side of the fitting. Selection of self-fastening tube is done by DN: correct connection = the tube is pushed on to the fitting to butt against and beneath the collar quick-acting barbed fitting DN self-fastening tube 03 0 56 /4 0.. stainless steel compression fittings

principle of stainless steel compression fittings egris has used its long experience of compression fittings to develop a range of stainless steel compression fittings. These stainless steel fittings are resistant to aggressive or corrosive environments and fluids and withstand high temperatures and pressures. They are designed to be used at low and medium pressure and to withstand water hammer and vibration. assembly Each stainless steel compression fitting comprises a body, an olive and a nut. ut the tube exactly square and deburr its outer and inner edges. Slide the nut onto the tube, without lubricating it. it the olive onto the end of the tube. Push the tube fully home against the shoulder of the body of the fitting. Tighten until the nut is hand-tight inal tightening with a spanner causes the olive to bite into the tube The egris stainless steel compression assembly is now ready for use. Very slight deformation of the inside of the tube is observed. complementary fittings the egris reduction assembly This patented accessory enables a smaller tube size to be used with the standard egris coupling designed for larger sized tube. Tubes may be stainless steel or fluoropolymer and of different diameters. The reduction assembly comprises three elements. ➀ the reduction piece. which fits inside the body of this fitting. ➁ the stainless steel compression olive fits on the end of the tube and is inserted between the reduction piece and the sleeve nut. ➂ the stainless steel sleeve nut, The egris reduction assembly : allows a lower stockholding of fittings (9 alternative reductions are available). enables less complicated system designs. ➀ ➁ ➂ which is slightly longer than the standard sleeve nut in order to accommodate the extended length of the reduction piece. allows connection of many tube diameters within one installation. egris reducers may be used with tailpiece adaptor reference 8. 866 reduction assembly stainless steel 6 8 866 06 08 4 0,0 8 0 866 08 0 9 0,03 6 0 866 06 0 9 0,00 0 866 0 0,034 8 866 08 0,038 6 866 06 0,04 6 866 6 7 0,054 0 6 866 0 6 7 0,046 8 6 866 08 6 7 0,05 Ø D = tube to be fitted Ø D = original tube o.d.
