On an AUAS Personal workstation, files can be stored locally in a number of locations. Files cannot be stored locally on an AUAS Basic workstation. Below is a list of possible locations: directly on the C: drive; in the Program Files folder for the programmes that you use (such as C:\Program Files\Adobe); Outlook archives: search your C: drive for locally stored.pst files. 3

You will need to export these files yourself using the step-by-step guide below. Exporting Firefox bookmarks (favourites) to the W: drive 1. From the Start menu, open Firefox. 3. Select Show All Bookmarks. 4. Click on Import and Backup. 5. Select Backup. 2. On the top right-hand side, click on the Bookmark menu. 6. Go to the W: drive and select Save. 4

When you open SURFdrive, you can immediately tell whether synchronisation is active by the green tick. 2. Select Settings. 4. Go to the Activity tab to check for synchronisation conflicts. 5. If SURFdrive is no longer connected, select Account at step 3 and then Log in. 6
Make a note of additional mailboxes in Outlook Do you have any additional or group mailboxes in Outlook; e.g. with an @uva.nl email address? Make a note of these, so you can restore them manually after the migration. Group mailboxes with addresses ending in @hva.nl will be restored automatically. 7
Make a note of local printers Do you use a local printer? Make sure that you have made a note of its name. Local printers have names such as 01X22HPP006SPU on PRDPRINT0002. Go to Start > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Devices and Printers to check which printers have been installed. Ignore the Follow-Me printer; this one will be restored automatically during the migration. 8
Make a note of any installed (non-default) applications All locally installed applications will be removed. As part of your workstation's migration to Windows 10, a default set of applications will be installed. However, if you installed any applications from the Software Center, you will need to reinstall them manually. The same goes for applications that you installed on an AUAS Personal workstation.
