micpa-caanz ProgrammE MICPA has been developing professional accountants in Malaysia through its professional examinations since 1963. In 2009, MICPA entered into an agreement with the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia (ICAA), sealing a new era of professional ties providing for mutual advanced entry for candidates into both of the accountancy bodies professional examinations. In 2014, we saw the amalgamation between ICAA and the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants (NZICA) which led to the establishment of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ). Now, graduates of the MICPA-CAANZ Programme will obtain 2 professional qualifications Certified Public Accountant (Malaysia) and Chartered Accountant (ANZ). Candidates are required to complete five (5) modules covering concepts and principles underpinning accounting in all its disciplines. The modules and examinations are identical to that offered by CA ANZ in Australia and New Zealand with the exception of the Taxation module which has been adapted to Malaysian taxation regulations to provide greater relevance for careers in Malaysia. The MICPA-CAANZ Programme couples theoretical knowledge with 3 years of relevant practical experience overseen by a mentor with an Approved Training Employer. The practical experience will build upon a candidate s academic excellence by providing candidates with an avenue to apply the theoretical knowledge to real-life cases whilst developing professional skills and values relevant to the candidate s specific job. Upon fulfilling MICPA membership requirements, candidates will qualify for full MICPA and CA ANZ memberships.

micpa-caanz ProgrammE admission requirements To be admitted into the Advanced Stage Examination of the MICPA-CAANZ Programme, candidates must: Possess a degree in Accounting or other disciplines accredited by MICPA or CA ANZ.
