NAVIGATING BANNER Step 1 Logging into a Computer All school computers log on the same way. 1. Click the computer mouse or spacebar on the lab computer 2. Accept the terms of use by clicking the OK button. 3. Use your student username and password to enter the computer. Step 2 Logging into Banner 1. Open an internet browser and go to my.ung.edu. 2. Go to the Banner tab and click UNG Banner Web. 3. Enter the same username and password as you did to log in to the computer. What is on Banner? Access your own personal information (Address, phone numbers, etc.) Register for classes (Look up classes, Nighthawk Registration) View classes and grades on your tranguid View holds on your account Apply for housing/meal plans
NAVIGATING BANNER Step 3 Check for Outstanding Financial Aid Requirements 1. Select the Financial Aid tab 2. Select Eligibility 3. Select Student Requirements

Step 8 View Student Tranguid NAVIGATING BANNER 1. Select "Student Records" on the student tab.
NAVIGATING BANNER 2. Student Tranguid will be the first option listed. Your schedule for the upcoming semester will be listed. Double-check class locations to make sure you have time to commute if needed.
NAVIGATING BANNER 3. The name of your Academic Advisor, the advisor's location and email will be listed in the "Academic Information" section.
NAVIGATING BANNER Step 9 View Holds 1. You can also "View Holds" on the Student Records page. You will receive either a no holds exist message or a list of holds. Holds must be resolved each semester prior to registering for classes. Go to go.ung.edu/holds for information on specific holds.
NAVIGATING BANNER Step 10 Authorization to Release/Discuss Education Records Select Update Authorization to Release/Discuss Education Records : If you would like to give someone access to your FERPA protected records, including tuition and fee information, you will need to complete the Authorization to Release form. You can rescind access at any time.
Step 11 Nighthawk Registration NAVIGATING BANNER "Nighthawk Registration" is the course scheduling tool students use to register for classes each semester. The Online Pre-Orientation modules provide an overview of Nighthawk Registration. You can reference these modules at any time. Step 12 View Class Booklist NAVIGATING BANNER 1. After registering for classes, you will be able to view the textbooks and course materials needed for each course. Select NEW: View Class Book List 2. Select the enrollment term.

Step 13 Textbooks Online Ordering NAVIGATING BANNER When you view your book list, you will have the option to purchase books from the UNG Bookstore. You can purchase the books through the online store and pick the books up at the start of term.
NAVIGATING BANNER Step 14 Emergency Alert System (UNG Alert) UNG Alert is the primary emergency messaging system that delivers text messages, voice calls, e-mails, and desktop computer alerts directly to your cell phone or computer in the event of severe weather, campus emergency, emergency evacuation, or other campus emergency. 1. Technology Checklist Step 15 Enroll in Password Management By enrolling in Password Management, you will be able to reset your password anytime, without having to contact the Help Desk. 1. Navigate to password.ung.edu 2. Click the Enroll in Password Management link. 3. Follow the instructions on each step to create your security questions and answers.
Step 16 IT Help Desk/Computer Support Technology Checklist The UNG IT Service Desk is the single point of contact for all technology related questions and requests for all students, faculty and staff. The Service Desk is a close-knit team of full-time and student personnel offering friendly and prompt assistance for walk-in service, phone support, email, text messaging, instant messaging, and social media. In addition to technology support, the IT Service Desk also offers a variety of computer services, from software and hardware diagnostics and installation, to malware and spyware removal. Technology Checklist Step 17 Syncing UNG Email and Connecting to WiFi Your UNG Email is the official means of communication between faculty and staff and the students they support. Check your email daily! To receive instant notifications of new emails, sync your mobile device with your UNG account. Take advantage of UNG s speedy WiFi and save your mobile data. Connect to the UNG WiFi by using your UNG login credentials. 1. Navigate to go.ung.edu/wifi for additional information
Step 18 Important Software Available Technology Checklist Students may access the web version of Office365 to find many useful tools without having to install additional software. 1. Navigate to office.ung.edu 2. Sign in with your UNG username and password 3. Select the apps menu to see all the online programs available After paying the technology fee (included in tuition and fees), students will have access to many software packages at no additional charge or at greatly reduced price. Students have access to 5 copies of the full Office365 suite at no additional charge. Students are also strongly encouraged to install the Antivirus software provided on any computer that will be used on campus. 1. Navigate to software.ung.edu 2. This site has the events available for students to participate in across all campuses. All participation in events is listed on the student s co-curricular transcript and is available to download through your UNG Connect profile.
