SAP KNOWLEDGE ACCELERATION TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS In this guide, you will learn about hardware and software requirements for SAP Knowledge Acceleration (KA). SAP Knowledge Acceleration (KA) is a web-based learning environment that uses software simulations for self-paced tutorials as well as quick reference material. The content is authored using the SAP Productivity Composer 4.1 by RWD. Supporting Languages The SAP Productivity Composer 4.1 by RWD interface supports the following languages: Bulgarian, Catalan, Chinese (PRC), Chinese (Taiwan), Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch (Belgium), Dutch (Netherlands), English (US), English (UK), Finnish, French (Canada), French (France), German, Greek, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Portuguese (Portugal), Romanian, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, and Turkish. Deploying SAP Knowledge Acceleration The SAP Knowledge Acceleration is provided in two formats (you must choose one to deploy and then download the relevant installation package): Website Package LMS Package The SAP Knowledge Acceleration, website package, can be deployed to any web server, file server, CD-ROM, or a user workstation. The SAP Knowledge Acceleration, LMS package, can be deployed to any Learning Management System (LMS) that conforms to AICC 2.2, SCORM 1.2, or SCORM 2004. Technical requirements for deploying KA: Hardware minimum recommended requirements P IIl 500 MHz or equivalent 1 GB Between 300 MB and 600 MB average per SAP Knowledge Acceleration. Between 40 MB and 60 MB average per module without sound (Actual size depends on many factors including length of lesson, screen resolution, and colour depth). Workstations with faster processors, larger amounts of RAM, and larger amounts of disk space are highly recommended. Depending on content usage patterns, a server configured per minimum recommended requirements may support between 1,000 and 1,500 end users. Note: In most cases, the SAP Knowledge Acceleration is deployed by your System or LMS administrator.
Tracking Users Data To implement tracking in a non-lms environment, you must develop server-side software (Active Server Pages, Hypertext Preprocessor [PHP], or CGI) to handle data provided by the SAP Knowledge Acceleration. The SAP Knowledge Acceleration passes data via a POST command to the server script. The data that is passed: user name, simulation title, total number of questions, total number of correctly or incorrectly answered questions, score, and pass/fail. The SAP Knowledge Acceleration, accessed from any LMS system, will pass and save data into the LMS system. Viewing SAP Knowledge Acceleration The SAP Knowledge Acceleration (website or LMS package) can be accessed by a URL link in a browser. Customizing SAP Knowledge Acceleration in a Citrix Environment When customizing the SAP Knowledge Acceleration, authors can use SAP Productivity Composer 4.1 by RWD software in a 32-bit version of Citrix Presentation Server (v4.5) environment to support the generation of content. The Citrix server technical specifications will vary widely depending on other applications in use on the Citrix server, as well as the total number of planned concurrent SAP Productivity Composer 4.1 by RWD authors. Each SAP Productivity Composer 4.1 by RWD source document is approximately 100 Kbytes per step. Example: 1,000 recorded RWD uperform documents each of 25 steps would require approximately 2. 5 GB of disk space for the source documentation. Assuming all available outputs are selected, the published output would require approximately another 50 GB. A published website is about 50Kb for each link or page so 1000 links and/or pages would require approximately 50Mb of disk space. Published Glossary output is approximately120 Kb for 1000 terms and definitions. Recording Environments When customizing the SAP Knowledge Acceleration, authors can use SAP Productivity Composer 4.1 by RWD software to record and document virtually any Microsoft Windows 32-bit or web-based application, provided that the Windows or web-based application has been developed using standard Windows accessibility standards.
