SAP KNOWLEDGE ACCELERATION TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS In this guide, you will learn about hardware and software requirements for SAP Knowledge Acceleration (KA). SAP Knowledge Acceleration (KA) is a web-based learning environment that uses software simulations for self-paced tutorials as well as quick reference material. The content is authored using the SAP Productivity Composer 4.1 by RWD. Supporting Languages The SAP Productivity Composer 4.1 by RWD interface supports the following languages: Bulgarian, Catalan, Chinese (PRC), Chinese (Taiwan), Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch (Belgium), Dutch (Netherlands), English (US), English (UK), Finnish, French (Canada), French (France), German, Greek, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Portuguese (Portugal), Romanian, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, and Turkish. Deploying SAP Knowledge Acceleration The SAP Knowledge Acceleration is provided in two formats (you must choose one to deploy and then download the relevant installation package): Website Package LMS Package The SAP Knowledge Acceleration, website package, can be deployed to any web server, file server, CD-ROM, or a user workstation. The SAP Knowledge Acceleration, LMS package, can be deployed to any Learning Management System (LMS) that conforms to AICC 2.2, SCORM 1.2, or SCORM 2004. Technical requirements for deploying KA: Hardware minimum recommended requirements P IIl 500 MHz or equivalent 1 GB Between 300 MB and 600 MB average per SAP Knowledge Acceleration. Between 40 MB and 60 MB average per module without sound (Actual size depends on many factors including length of lesson, screen resolution, and colour depth). Workstations with faster processors, larger amounts of RAM, and larger amounts of disk space are highly recommended. Depending on content usage patterns, a server configured per minimum recommended requirements may support between 1,000 and 1,500 end users. Note: In most cases, the SAP Knowledge Acceleration is deployed by your System or LMS administrator.

Tracking Users Data To implement tracking in a non-lms environment, you must develop server-side software (Active Server Pages, Hypertext Preprocessor [PHP], or CGI) to handle data provided by the SAP Knowledge Acceleration. The SAP Knowledge Acceleration passes data via a POST command to the server script. The data that is passed: user name, simulation title, total number of questions, total number of correctly or incorrectly answered questions, score, and pass/fail. The SAP Knowledge Acceleration, accessed from any LMS system, will pass and save data into the LMS system. Viewing SAP Knowledge Acceleration The SAP Knowledge Acceleration (website or LMS package) can be accessed by a URL link in a browser. Technical requirements for viewing KA: End User Hardware minimum recommended requirements P III 500 MHz or equivalent 256 MB RAM Sound Sound does not come with the SAP Knowledge Acceleration and is not Required. You have the option to add Sound to your SAP Knowledge Acceleration by customizing it. Sound Device, headphones or speakers required. Microsoft Windows Media Player 6.4 or later required for sound support. Machines with faster processors, larger amounts of RAM and larger amounts of disk space are highly recommended End User Operating Systems Windows 2000 (SP4) Windows XP (SP2/SP3) Windows Vista Business SP1 End User Browsers Internet Explorer 6.0, 7.0, or 8.0 Mozilla Firefox 2.0 or 3.0 End User Software Microsoft Office XP, 2003 SP3, or To view Microsoft Office output 2007 SP1 Adobe Acrobat Reader 8.0, 9.0, or To view PDF output 9.1 Adobe Flash Player 8.0, 9.0. or 10.0 To view SAP Knowledge Acceleration, Adobe Flash Player is required. Flash Global Security Settings must be set to Always allow to view output locally. Note: For optimum performance, running the SAP Knowledge Acceleration over a modem connection (56K) is not recommended. Viewing SAP Knowledge Acceleration in a Citrix Environment End users can view published content (SAP Knowledge Acceleration) in a Citrix Presentation Server environment that can access the published content on the web server.

Customizing SAP Knowledge Acceleration To customize the SAP Knowledge Acceleration: download and install the SAP Productivity Composer or SAP Productivity Pak 4.1 by RWD download the SAP Knowledge Acceleration source files The SAP Productivity Composer 4.1 by RWD or SAP Productivity Pak 4.1 by RWD could be used to create new content, modify the existing content, or publish the SAP Knowledge Acceleration. If you are installing the SAP Productivity Composer 4.1 by RWD, it is recommended to install it on your local workstation. Note: The SAP Knowledge Acceleration content created with earlier versions of SAP Productivity Composer or Productivity Pak by RWD, v2.1, v3.0, v3.1, v3.1.1, v3.1.2, or v4.0, can be opened and edited in the current version, v4.1. Technical requirements for installing the SAP Productivity Composer 4.1 by RWD: Hardware minimum recommended requirements P III 1.5 GHz or equivalent 1GB RAM 250 to 500 MB free disk space (depending on the KA source files) Video card 8 MB video card with 16 million colours at 1024 x 768 resolution Sound Sound does not come with the SAP Knowledge Acceleration and is not Required. You have the option to add Sound to your SAP Knowledge Acceleration by customizing it. Sound Device, headphones or speakers required. Microsoft Windows Media Player 6.4 or later required for sound support. Machines with faster processors, larger amounts of RAM and larger amounts of disk space are highly recommended Operating Systems Windows 2000 (SP3) Windows XP (SP2/SP3) Windows Vista Business SP1 Browsers Internet Explorer 6.0 or 7.0, or 8.0 Mozilla Firefox 2.0 or 3.0 Software Microsoft Office XP, 2003, or 2007 To view Microsoft Office output Microsoft.Net Framework v3.5 SP1 Visual J# Redistributable Package v2.0 Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package v8.0.50727 Java Access Bridge for Windows 2.01 or higher. Adobe Acrobat Reader 8.0. 9.0, or 9.1 Adobe Flash Player 8.0, 9.0, or 10.0 Java Access Bridge is only necessary for recording Java-based applications. Note that Java runtime environments 1.3.x and below require version 1.02 To view PDF output To view SAP Knowledge Acceleration, Adobe Flash Player is required. Flash Global Security Settings must be set to Always allow to view output locally. Authors using roaming profiles should have at least 80 MB allocated to their roaming profile.

Customizing SAP Knowledge Acceleration in a Citrix Environment When customizing the SAP Knowledge Acceleration, authors can use SAP Productivity Composer 4.1 by RWD software in a 32-bit version of Citrix Presentation Server (v4.5) environment to support the generation of content. The Citrix server technical specifications will vary widely depending on other applications in use on the Citrix server, as well as the total number of planned concurrent SAP Productivity Composer 4.1 by RWD authors. Each SAP Productivity Composer 4.1 by RWD source document is approximately 100 Kbytes per step. Example: 1,000 recorded RWD uperform documents each of 25 steps would require approximately 2. 5 GB of disk space for the source documentation. Assuming all available outputs are selected, the published output would require approximately another 50 GB. A published website is about 50Kb for each link or page so 1000 links and/or pages would require approximately 50Mb of disk space. Published Glossary output is approximately120 Kb for 1000 terms and definitions. Recording Environments When customizing the SAP Knowledge Acceleration, authors can use SAP Productivity Composer 4.1 by RWD software to record and document virtually any Microsoft Windows 32-bit or web-based application, provided that the Windows or web-based application has been developed using standard Windows accessibility standards. Recording Environments - SAP SAP Productivity Composer 4.1 by RWD records the following SAP interfaces: SAP Windows GUI 6.20, 6.40, and 7.10 SAP HTML GUIs 6.20, 6.40, and 7 based on corresponding ITS/WAS (minimum version 6.20) shipped with SAP application server SAP CRM Interaction Center Web Client for CRM 4, 5, and 2007 and 7. SAP SRM Shopping Cart for SRM 4 SAP MDM 5.5 SP5 HTML user interfaces built using ABAP or Java Web Dynpro controls Standard Enterprise Portal 6.0 and 7.0 controls along with other SAP systems listed above embedded inside portal iviews Static Adobe Interactive Forms used in SAP portal business packages such as Employee Self Service SAP Productivity Composer 4.1 by RWD supports re-recording SAP interfaces with: SAP Windows GUI 7.10 or higher with 4.7, ECC 5.0, or ECC 6.0 Scripting enabled on the SAP server(s) used to create the initial recordings Microsoft Windows and Web-Based Applications SAP Productivity Composer 4.1 by RWD content can be linked to your Microsoft Windows or web-based applications using unique screen identifiers (IDs) in the application(s). For detailed information, refer to documentation on the Product Support Center. Optionally, SAP Productivity Composer 4.1 by RWD works with RWD OmniHelp (sold separately) to provide screenlevel context-sensitive help for Microsoft Windows and web-based applications.

Enabling Adobe Flash Player Adobe Flash Player is required (Internet Explorer or FireFox) in order to view Flash output, simulations and modules. To check if you have a Flash player installed, use Add\Remove programs in the Control Panel and check to see if the Adobe Flash Player appears in the list of installed programs: You will need to configure the Flash Player using the Flash Global Settings website http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager04.html Ensure that Always allow option is selected.
