WARRANTY Mr Christmas warrants to the original consumer/purchaser of the MAESTRO MOUSE PRESENTS THE LIGHTS AND SOUNDS OF CHRISTMAS that it will be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of 90 days from the date of purchase. Any liability of Mr. Christmas under this warranty shall be limited to the repair or replacement of defective parts without charge if the item is returned with shipping charges prepaid together with proof of date-of-purchase, name and mailing address of the original consumer/purchaser and a description of the defect. Please call warranty service at 1-800-467-9627 for a claim number and instructions on how and where to return the item. Mr. Christmas shall not be liable for any other damages or loss. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages. Accordingly, the limitation or exclusion may not be applicable to certain consumers/purchasers. THIS IS NOT A TOY! OPERATION TROUBLESHOOTING Your MAESTRO MOUSE PRESENTS THE LIGHTS AND SOUNDS OF CHRISTMAS has been designed to give many seasons of trouble free operation. In the event that a problem does occur, please refer to the following chart for suggested solutions. PROBLEM No lighting, no music LIKELY CAUSE SOLUTION No power Make sure the unit plug is plugged into a working outlet and the output plug is properly plugged into the jack. Overloading caused by connecting light strings or decorative lighting outfits over 420W Replace the fuse (follow the procedure as outlined in the fuse replacement section in this manual). Unit not activated In voice control mode, say "Hello! Mr. Christmas" to reactive the unit. In motion activation, please pass in front of mouse to reactive the mouse. Unit not being operated properly See operation section, pages 6 9. No lighting, but music Faulty light string/ bulbs plays Check light strings for burnt out bulbs. Suggestion: Check your light strings before installation. Check for fuse in light string plugged, and replace if damaged. For more information about this product. REPLACING FUSE Your MAESTRO MOUSE PRESENTS THE LIGHTS AND SOUNDS OF CHRISTMAS comes with spare fuses to replace burn-out fuses located in the plug. Be sure to replace a burnt-out fuse with a fuse of the same rating: 5A 125V UL listed fuse. RISK OF FIRE. Do not replace the attachment plug. Contains a safety device (fuse) that should not be removed. Discard product if the attachment plug is damaged. CAUTION: BEFORE REPLACING, ALWAYS DISCONNECT THE POWER SUPPLY CORD FROM THE POWER SOURCE. 1. Grasp plug and remove from the receptacle or other outlet device. Do not unplug by pulling on cord. 2. Open fuse cover. Slide open fuse access cover on top of attachment plug towards blades. 3. Remove fuse carefully. Turn fuse holder over to remove fuse. 4. Risk of fire. Replace fuse only with 5 Amp, 125 Volt fuse (provided with product). 5. Close fuse cover. CONNECTING LIGHT STRINGS MAXIMUM CAPACITY 420 WATTS If connecting to a light string that does not have a Wattage (W) rating, calculate the wattage as follows: Multiply the current (_ A) which is on the flag-type tag by 120. For Example: Light string is rated 120V, 60Hz, 0.2 Amps. 0.2 X 120 = 24 Watts Add the wattage of each light string together for a total of 420 Watts or fewer. Maestro Mouse understands voice commands to control your tree lights and perform a musical light show. Connect your Christmas tree lights to the Songbook ornament and say Hello Mr. Christmas to start the interactive fun. The Maximum capacity is 420 watts WARNING: DO NOT CONNECT LIGHTS STRINGS OR SETS IN EXCESS OF THE ABOVE CAPACITY. OPERATION WHEN YOUR TREE LIGHTS ARE ON: MAESTRO MOUSE WILL SAY: Well hello! To see what I can do please say Goodnight or Play a carol. If you say: Goodnight MAESTRO MOUSE WILL SAY Goodnight to you! and your tree lights turn off. If you say: Play a carol MAESTRO MOUSE WILL ASK YOU WHICH CAROL YOU WOULD LIKE TO HEAR. Next, name a song listed in the SONGBOOK (See Page 10 for the full VOICE RECOGNITION SONG LIST). If you say something MAESTRO MOUSE DOES NOT UNDERSTAND MOUSE WILL ASK YOU TO REPEAT YOUR COMMAND. AT THE END OF A REQUESTED SONG: MAESTRO When your requested song has finished playing, MAESTRO MOUSE will prompt you to choose another song or say Good Night to turn the unit off. If you say: Goodnight MAESTRO MOUSE WILL SAY And good night to you. And your tree lights turn OFF. If you say the name of a song listed in the SONGBOOK MAESTRO MOUSE will play the requested song. If you say something MAESTRO MOUSE DOES NOT UNDERSTAND MAESTRO MOUSE WILL ASK YOU TO REPEAT YOUR REQUEST. If he is still unable to understand your request he will play 10 Songs and then go into SLEEP MODE until reactivated by the TRIGGER phrase Hello Mr. Christmas. NOTE: If you say Hello, Mr. Christmas at any time while the musical light show is playing (before the end of a song), it might be difficult for the MAESTRO MOUSE to hear the TRIGGER phrase. Be sure to stand close to the songbook and speak in a loud, clear voice in order to interrupt the musical light show. -4- -9-

OPERATION c. MOTION ACTIVATION: In this mode, when a person walks within 5 feet of the songbook ornament, the MAESTRO MOUSE will wake up and prompt voice commands to control your lights and music. For a detailed description of the various VOICE COMMANDS, please refer to the VOICE COMMAND FLOW CHART Section. d. OFF MODE: When you switch to OFF, the unit will turn off but the light over the songbook will remain on. 3. Adjust the volume to meet your preference. VOICE CONTROL FLOW CHART When the MAESTRO MOUSE is in VOICE CONTROL MODE, following the MAESTRO MOUSE s prompts you can: TURN TREE LIGHTS ON TURN TREE LIGHTS OFF PLAY A REQUESTED SONG WITH LIGHT SHOW PLEASE MAKE SURE MAESTRO MOUSE HAS FINISHED SPEAKING BEFORE GIVING A VOICE COMMAND. HELLO MR. CHRISTMAS This is the TRIGGER to start a conversation with MAESTRO MOUSE. Depending on what the MAESTRO MOUSE is doing when you say HELLO MR. CHRISTMAS, he will respond in one of 3 ways: INSTALLATION Note: It may be useful to check your light strings for missing or faulty bulbs before setting up your MAESTRO MOUSE PRESENTS THE LIGHTS AND SOUNDS OF CHRISTMAS. If your light strings are not working, your light show will not function as intended. For ease of installation, it is advisable to check that your holiday lights do not excess 420 Watts and to hang your holiday lights on your tree before connecting your MAESTRO MOUSE PRESENTS THE LIGHTS AND SOUNDS OF CHRISTMAS. Capacity: Your MAESTRO MOUSE PRESENTS THE LIGHTS AND SOUNDS OF CHRISTMAS has a capacity of 420 Watts. Please refer to the packaging, instruction manual or the warning tags on your holiday lighting to determine the exact wattage of each item being plugged into the unit. THIS PRODUCT IS ONLY RECOMMENDED FOR USE WITH UL-LISTED LIGHTED ITEMS. In order not to excess the 420-watt capacity, add the wattage of each item being plugged into the unit for the TOTAL WATTAGE. See Connecting Light Strings Section on Page 4 for more information. WARNING: DO NOT EXCEED 420 WATTS 1. Hang the Songbook ornament on the Christmas tree using the hook provided; OR, for table top use, pull the easel stand outward (see FIG I). WHEN YOUR TREE LIGHTS ARE OFF MAESTRO MOUSE WILL SAY: Well hello! To see what I can do please say Lights on or Play a carol. If you say: Lights on, MAESTRO MOUSE WILL SAY TA-DA and your tree lights turn on. If you say something MAESTRO MOUSE DOES NOT UNDERSTAND WILL ASK YOU TO REPEAT YOUR VOICE COMMAND. MAESTRO MOUSE If he is still unable to understand you MAESTRO MOUSE will go into SLEEP MODE until reactivated by the TRIGGER phrase Hello Mr. Christmas. If you say: Play a carol, MAESTRO MOUSE WILL ASK YOU WHICH CAROL YOU WOULD LIKE TO HEAR. Name a song listed in the SONGBOOK (See Page 10 for the full VOICE RECOGNITION SONG LIST). If you say something MAESTRO MOUSE DOES NOT UNDERSTAND MAESTRO MOUSE WILL ASK YOU TO REPEAT YOUR VOICE COMMAND. If he is still unable to understand you MAESTRO MOUSE will play one song, then go into SLEEP MODE until reactivated by the TRIGGER phrase Hello Mr. Christmas. FIG I: STAND FOR TABLE -8- -5-

OPERATION 2. Plug your holiday lighting into the outlet provided on the unit (MAX 420 WATTS) (see FIG II). 2. Choose a function from the MODE SELECTION switch (see FIG V). CAUTION: Do not overload - Maximum total load shall not exceed 420W (3.5Amps) VOICE CONTROL MUSICAL LIGHT SHOW FIG II 3. The songbook lights will turn on indicating your unit is plugged in and ready for use. OPERATION After successfully installing your light strings up to 420 watts, your MAESTRO MOUSE PRESENTS THE LIGHTS AND SOUNDS OF CHRISTMAS is ready for operation. 1. Before starting the unit, turn the demo switch on the side of the Control Box to the NORMAL setting (see FIG IV). DEMO mode is for in-store demonstration purposes only. If you forget to switch to the NORMAL setting, you will not be able to enjoy the full functions of the item. FIG V: MODE SELECTION SWITCH a. VOICE CONTROL: In this mode, the MAESTRO MOUSE will begin by saying, Well hello! To see what I can do please say Lights on or Play a carol. If you say: LIGHTS ON the lights plugged into your Control Box during INSTALLATION will turn on. To turn LIGHTS OFF, SAY Hello Mr. Christmas and when prompted, say Good Night.. If you say: PLAY A CAROL the MAESTRO MOUSE will ask you which song you would like to hear. Make a request from the songs listed on the songbook. See Page 10 for a list of songs. YOU CAN FOLLOW MAESTRO MOUSE S PROMPTS to perform the following functions by voice command: TURN TREE LIGHTS ON TURN TREE LIGHTS OFF PLAY A REQUESTED SONG WITH LIGHT SHOW DEMO FIG IV NORMAL For a detailed description of the various VOICE COMMANDS, please refer to the VOICE COMMAND FLOW CHART Section. b. MUSICAL LIGHT SHOW: In this mode, your holiday lights dance with the music continuously. MAESTRO MOUSE WILL NOT respond to voice commands to control your lights and music.
