1. Preface Kony Visualizer Enterprise 1. Preface Kony Platform provides an integrated approach in the design, development and management of mobile applications. The platform facilitates the design and development of mobile applications in a device independent manner and delivers them in different formats that run on all the major device platforms. 1.1 Purpose This document explains how to install Kony Visualizer and additional software on your Mac OS X using an installer. 1.2 Intended Audience This document is intended for engineers or developers who are responsible for installing and configuring Kony Visualizer. Prerequisites Read this section to understand the system requirements and required software before installing the Kony Visualizer. 2.1 Software Requirements Operating System Mac OS X version 10.7 and above Software Requirement JDK 1.7 64-bit installed with the Visualizer. (Minimum supported: JDK 1.7.0_25) (Mandatory) KonyVisualizerSetup Installer File (Mandatory) Android SDK and Emulators (Optional) Note: Xcode 6.1 does not support IPA file generation with Kony Visualizer. 2.1.1 Hardware Requirements Component Requirement Processor x86-64 CPU (64-bit Mac, with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Intel Core i3, Intel Core i5, Intel Core i7, or Xeon processor.) Prerequisites Kony Visualizer Enterprise 2.1.2 Install Java Development Kit A Java Development Kit (JDK) provides the Java run-time environment (the Java Virtual Machine, or JVM) and tools for compiling and debugging Java applications. The Java Virtual Machine is required for Java applications to interpret the Java byte code so that the Java application can be run. The recommended JDK is Java SE Development Kit 7 Update 67, that is installed automatically when Kony Visualizer is installed. The minimum supported JDK is Java SE 7 update 25. Note: After installing Kony Visualizer and if you upgrade to Mac OS Yosemite, you will be prompted to install Java. Ensure you install Java before working with Kony Visualizer. 2016 by Kony, Inc. Installing Kony Visualizer Enterprise Download Kony Visualizer Installer from the community.kony.com/downloads to a location on your machine. 1. Kony Visualizer 2. (Optional) Visualizer plug-in for Adobe Photoshop 3.1 Prerequisites Administrative rights on your computer to install Kony Visualizer. Select Anywhere option in Security & Privacy > General settings. The default installation folder for Kony Visualizer is /Applications/KonyVisualizerEnterprise7.x. During the installation, you can choose a different location if you wish. Ensure that there is at least 4 GB of space available in the system drive where you install Kony Visualizer. HTTP (direct or proxy) access during the installation process. The /Applications/Kony/_Kony_Visualizer_installation\Logs directory contains the log files documenting each invocation of the installer or uninstaller. Provide these log files to Kony when reporting an issue to help expedite issue identification. In case the installation is canceled, the logs are generated in either desktop or installation path. If you cancel the installation before Choose Install Folder screen, the logs are generated in desktop. Download the Kony Visualizer installer file. 2. Double-click the file. The Kony Visualizer installer dialog appears. 2016 by Kony, Inc. All rights reserved 10 of 34

Scroll down to the bottom of the screen, this will enable I accept the terms of the License Agreement button. The installer checks availability of the required programs and their versions in this stage of installation. a. Type or choose the Android SDK location in Android SDK Home box. b. If SDK is not present in the provided path, an Invalid SDK Path dialog appears. 6. Click Proceed to continue without installing Android SDK. The Download Sources screen appears. 2016 by Kony, Inc. You can also restore the installation folder to the default location using Restore Default Folder option. 9. Click Next. The Pre-Installation Summary appears. 10. Click Kony Visualizer icon on desktop to launch Kony Visualizer. To launch Kony Visualizer, follow these steps: 1. Double-click the Kony Visualizer shortcut on the desktop. Note: You could also navigate to the folder where Kony Visualizer is installed and doubleclick KonyVisualizer7 shortcut to launch Kony Visualizer. 2. Kony Visualizer prompts to provide your desired Workspace folder location to use. Select your path and click OK. A workspace is a folder on the hard drive, which is a central repository of all application files. The applications you create in the IDE are saved in the workspace. The default workspace has a sample application. The default workspace is <user home>/konysampleapps. It is recommend that you choose this workspace if you are a new user. 3. Install and Configure Platform SDKs and Their Emulators Mobile applications that are developed in Kony Visualizer need to be tested for appearance and performance. To do this, you need device emulators. These emulators are provided by the device manufacturers or mobile platform vendors. 7. Upgrade Kony Visualizer Kony Visualizer Enterprise 7. Upgrade Kony Visualizer This section explains how to upgrade Kony Visualizer. Before you start make sure: You are connected to Internet. You have valid credentials to access the Community Portal. Important: Upgrading from previous versions of Kony Visualizer to Kony Visualizer Enterprise is not possible through the plugins. You must use the latest Kony Visualizer Enterprise installer to upgrade from Kony Visualizer. 7.1 Upgrade to latest version of Kony Visualizer To upgrade Kony Visualizer, follow these steps: 1. Open Kony Visualizer Enterprise. 2. On the Help menu, click Install New Software. 2016 by Kony, Inc. All rights reserved 22 of 34

Enter a descriptive name for the update site (such as Kony Updatesite). Enter the following URL in the Location box: http://download.kony.com/visualizer/70/macsite.xml. Click OK. 5. Expand each item, select the required plugins and click Next. The Install Details dialog box appears. Review the displayed plugins. You can use the Back button to change the selection. 8. Click Next to continue. If you get an error message as "Cannot complete the install because of a conflicting dependency", click Back button and select all features and click Next. 9. The Install Review Licenses dialog box appears. Review the Kony Solutions License Agreement. Click I accept the terms of the license agreement and click Finish. 2016 by Kony, Inc. Problems with Kony Visualizer installation In case there were problems with your installation, install complete page shows a warning and the logs location i.e. path to the installation directory Visualizer displays improper Workspace Error You may encounter this issue when you accidentally click on the launch button twice. An Improper Workspace error is displayed as two instances try to access the same workspace. To resolve the error, close the error window and any other related window that is open and re-launch Eclipse. "Kony" not visible in Open Perspective window during the installation of Kony Visualizer. Kony Visualizer perspective does not show up in the Open Perspective window if com.pat.soapui_x.x.x plugin is not available in the plugins/dropins folder of Eclipse. Ensure that the plug-in is available in the plugins/dropins folder of Eclipse. Kony Visualizer Crashes - Eclipse "OutOfMemoryError" This error is caused if insufficient memory is allocated to the Eclipse instance. This can be solved by increasing the max heap size allocated to Eclipse. To assign additional memory, follow these steps: 1. Navigate to the Kony Visualizer installation folder. 2.
