VLT 6000 The Real Drive for HVAC HVAC KEYPAD The VLT 6000 s new, user-friendly, HVAC keypad separates the Hand, Off and Auto functions for easy, logical control of the drive. Local control is easily accomplished by simply pressing the HAND START key and controlling the drive s speed using the + and - keys. Running the motor at a locally controlled fixed speed simplifies the balancing of the entire system and can also be useful in case of a loss of the automatic speed control signal. EASY TO SET UP The new, direct-access, Quick Menu allows many installations to be commissioned by simply pressing the Quick Menu key and scrolling through the twelve preset parameters, confirming the HVAC-oriented preset selections. After setting up one drive, the keypad can be used to transfer the same settings to all other VLT 6000 drives. The VLT 6000 is a totally new adjustable frequency drive, with control functions and software designed solely for the unique needs of HVAC systems. EASY TO USE The operational status of the drive can be seen at a glance. A green ON LED illuminates whenever AC power is applied to the drive. A yellow WARNING LED illuminates when the drive is running outside an established limit. The cause of the warning will be identified in the LCD display in plain language. A red ALARM LED indicates that an unsafe operating condition was encountered that caused the drive to shut down, protecting itself and the system. The cause of the alarm shut down will be identified in the LCD display in complete words. EASY TO READ DISPLAY An all new, four line, alphanumeric, backlit LCD display is easy to read from any angle. With three lines of 20 characters and one line of eight double-sized characters, a wide variety of user selectable information can be displayed using complete words and numeric displays with appropriate units.

The Real Drive--for any HVAC Application All VLT 6000s are available with NEMA 1 or NEMA 12 enclosures. A complete line of HVAC option packages are available to meet nearly any HVAC requirement. NEMA 1 All NEMA 1 drives are designed to minimize their width, allowing drives to fit into crowded equipment rooms. Multiple drives can be mounted with no side clearance. Conduit entry is provided on the bottom of all drives. NEMA 12 All NEMA 12 drives are exceptionally compact and affordably priced. Now the increased environmental protection offered by a NEMA 12 enclosure can fit both the equipment room and the budget. Pre-Engineered HVAC Option Package Team up either the NEMA 1 or NEMA 12 drive with a Graham Option Package for a complete HVAC drive. Option Packages can offer three-contactor bypass and many other features. These one-piece, Graham factory-designed and built option packages include the same world-class quality and design standards as the VLT drives. Both the drive and its Option Package carry UL and C-UL certification. NEMA 3R and other enclosures are also available.

Real Drive Feature Real World Benefit Interchangeable keypad All keypads are identical and easily removable. The drive can be operated without a keypad in place Assures tamper-proof operation. Drive status shown even with keypad removed. Keypad can be easily remote mounted The standard keypad can be remotely mounted 10 feet from the drive with a standard 9-pin cable. The remotely mounted keypad is gasketed and carries a NEMA 12 rating. Parameters can be uploaded and downloaded In multiple drive installations, only one keypad needs to be programmed. The settings are stored with the drive. To program multiple drives, upload the parameter settings to the keypad, then place that keypad on each of the other drives and download these same settings to every other drive. Preset typical HVAC defaults Many installations require nothing more than scrolling through the twelve QUICK MENU items to confirm that these defaults are correct. Built-in two setpoint PID controller Can look at two feedback signals, compare with two setpoints and make various process control decisions. Built-in RS-485 Fully equipped for serial communication. Up to 31 drives can be connected to one serial bus up to 5,000 feet long. Built-in N2 and FLN communication Simplified Automatic Energy Optimization (AEO) Communicates directly with Johnson Controls Metasys and Landis & Staefa s System 600 systems with no hardware changes or additional cost. This automatic, dynamic control eliminates the need to select a V/Hz pattern. AEO continually monitors the motor s speed and load and adjusts the applied voltage to maximize energy savings. Even at full speed, voltage will be reduced if the load is less than 100%. This automatically compensates for oversized motors or systems that are not fully loaded. Automatic Motor Adaptation (AMA) test algorithm measures motor stator resistance and reactance Knowing motor stator resistance and reactance, the drive automatically optimizes performance and efficiency. The motor does not have to be run or decoupled from the load for the AMA setup to be performed. Constant torque start assures that the load accelerates to the

Breakaway current can be set up to 160% for up to 0.5 seconds for breaking away high friction loads. VVC+ Output Switching Pattern Unique digital voltage vector control provides: Nearly perfect output sine wave. Full rated motor voltage at rated frequency. High efficiency for both drive and motor. Full motor performance without derate. Protected from input or output switching Input or output may be disconnected while the drive is running without the need for interlocks to protect the drive. Drive can provide full torque at any selected speed up to base speed Direct driven fans can now be run without derating. The full output torque can be set to coincide with the maximum design operating speed of the driven equipment, up to 60 Hz. Sleep mode Run permissive circuit Automatically stops the drive when its speed drops below the set sleep level for a specified time. Automatically restarts when the speed command exceeds the set wake level. Saves energy and reduces wear on driven components. The ability to accept a system ready signal assures that dampers or other auxiliary equipment are in the proper state for drive operation. Temperature controlled cooling fans All drive cooling fans are controlled by actual heatsink temperature. Drives run as quietly as possible, with minimized losses. UL and C-UL Listed All drives and options sold for US and Canadian applications carry this safety certification. CE Marked, ISO 9001 All drives carry the CE mark for sale into international markets. All drives are built to ISO quality standards.
