NZQF NQ Ref 1335 Version 2 Page 3 of 6 National Certificate in Drilling - Hydrocarbon (Floorman) (Level 2) with strands in Off Shore Drilling, and On Shore Drilling Level 2 Credits 93-94 Purpose The National Certificate in Drilling - Hydrocarbon (Floorman) (Level 2) with strands in Off Shore Drilling, and On Shore Drilling recognises the skills of a drilling floorman at an oil or gas drilling operation. The holder of the qualification is able to undertake a prescribed range of functions involving known routines and procedures under supervision. A core component of essential skills required to work at a hydrocarbon drilling operation related to health and safety; emergency procedures; maintaining effective working relationships; equipment and rig maintenance; preparing and operating drilling fluid systems; and rig floor operations; is included in this qualification. A small core elective that recognises a variety of skill sets is required due to the diversity of drilling s. The strands in Off Shore Drilling, and On Shore Drilling, provide opportunities for specialisation. The Off Shore Drilling strand recognises skills in carrying out deck operations, and handling and storing cargo in a hydrocarbon drilling. The On Shore Drilling strand recognises skills in carrying out rig lease operations and moving loads in a hydrocarbon drilling. There is an optional standard in this qualification, however, it is not required to achieve the qualification but may be required in some employment contexts. This qualification includes Australian competency standards that are part of the DRT03 Drilling Training Package Certificate 11 in Drilling. The New Zealand Extractive Industries Training Organisation has endorsed these standards. This qualification is the beginning of a pathway, which continues with the National Certificate in Drilling - Hydrocarbon (Derrickman) (Level 3) with strands in Off Shore Drilling, and On Shore Drilling [Ref: 1336], the National Certificate in Drilling - Hydrocarbon (Driller) (Level 4) with strands in Off Shore Drilling, and On Shore Drilling [Ref: 1337], and culminates in the National Diploma in Drilling - Hydrocarbon (Rig Manager, Tool Pusher) (Level 5) with strands in Off Shore Drilling, and On Shore Drilling [Ref: 1338]. Special Notes This qualification is a prerequisite to the National Certificate in Drilling - Hydrocarbon (Derrickman) (Level 3) with strands in Off Shore Drilling, and On Shore Drilling [Ref: 1336].
