Accessing Allerdale Online Welcome to Allerdale Online, this site is going to become critical to your learning and development. This section is going to guide you through accessing the GDPR training course, however all courses can be accessed by using the same process but just navigating to the relevant section. First Time to Allerdale To access the system please add the following web address in your web browser. We suggest you use Google Chrome however any web browser will suffice. In these examples we are using Google Chrome however most screens will look the same. The star is displayed in the top right hand corner. You can use this this to add the site to your favourites If you have never been to Allerdale Online your account will be set up using the following format: The login box is located in the top right hand corner of the screen. Username: firstname.surname Password: Allerdale1! Please note the system is case sensitive and you must use the details in the format shown above, including the exclamation mark. Click Log On 3
You will be present be the screen below: This is your main dashboard page. 4
Password Reset Resetting your password can be achieved using the self-service function on the system: Once you have the accessed Allerdale Online home page (https://allerdaleonline.co.uk) you need to scroll down to the bottom of the page using the scroll bar on the right of the page Select the Reset Password link 5
You have two options to search by: 1. Your Username this will normally be your firstname.surname Or 2. Your Email address this will be your work email address unless you have changed this to an alternative Type in the option you remember and then click Search Once you click Search you will see the following screen. Click Continue go to your email address that you have saved on your account and check for your mail box for an automated email. Please note this can take a few minutes. 6
You will receive an email as shown above. Click the link to take you to the reset password option. Type in your new password twice, remember this must contain: At least eight Characters Long At least one Capital Letter At least one Number At least one non-alphanumeric character Then select Save Changes and your password will be updated. 7
Updating Profile Page Once you have successfully logged onto the system it is advisable to check your profile to ensure we have the correct information. You can also add some additional information about yourself if you wish. Click on your name in the top right corner of your dashboard. You will see a drop down menu. Click Edit profile You will see the information page, where you can change your details. Once you have completed everything, scroll down to the bottom of the page. Click Update profile to return to the Preferences page from there you are able to click back onto the Dashboard link 8
Accessing Courses Once logged onto Allerdale Online you will be able to see the main dashboard and you are able to start accessing your courses. The page is broken down into 6 categories and you will be expected to complete all the training in the Mandatory Training section. We will access the GDPR course for this click on Mandatory Training. A list of available courses will be shown. Select the GDPR course from the list and click. There are 4 sections to each course that must be completed. The elearning Module The quiz has an 80% pass mark with 3 attempts become available. 9 End of course evaluation. Once all sections are complete, your certificate will
elearning Modules Once you have navigated to the elearning course and clicked on the elearning module you will be presented with this page, which shows you how many attempts you have made. All the courses allow the modules to be accessed with unlimited attempts this allows you to go back through the learning as many times as you feel necessary. Click on the enter button A new window will open with your course available. Once complete click the x to close the module. The screen will return back to the home page. 10
The Quiz After completing the elearning course you will be expected to complete the Quiz and pass this at 80% or above. You will need to take notes throughout the course as you have a maximum of 3 attempts. Once you have completed your elearning module you will notice a tick in the box next to the course. The quiz becomes active. Click on the Food Hygiene Quiz link The quiz assessment sheet will appear showing how many attempts available and if you have taken any. Click on Attempt Assessment 11
Your quiz will appear. Answer all the questions and submit. At the end you will receive the opportunity to review your answers. If you wish to make amendments to your answer, click Return to attempt If you are happy, click Submit all and Finish You will receive a final confirmation, if you are sure select Submit all and finish Once submitted you will see an overview and then return to the main quiz attempt page This screen will give you the opportunity to Re-attempt Assessment If you are not automatically taken back to the module home screen, select the page from the breadcrumb trail. 12
Evaluation Once complete and passed with a score of 80% or above, a tick will be shown in the box as displayed below. You will then move onto the evaluation: Your evaluation will now be active, click on the link and open the questions. Click Answer the questions Answer the questions and then click Submit questionnaire. You will receive a confirmation that you have completed the questionnaire. Click Continue 13
This screen gives you the opportunity to Review your evaluation If you are not automatically taken back to the module home screen, click on the breadcrumb trail. 14
Badges Once you have successfully completed all activities you will be awarded a Badge. Badges are your record of course completion and will remind you when you are due a renewal. To access your badges, follow the steps below: On the main page you will see all the badges you have been awarded. If you click on any of your badges you will see information about the badge and what was required to achieve it. To leave the page click back on the dashboard key as highlighted above. 15
When you are in your course you are able to access your badges by using the Navigation link in the right hand side. By clicking on Badges you will see the link Course badges You will be taken to the above page which gives further information about your badge. To return to the main Dashboard click on the Dashboard link or if you want to return to your course click on the breadcrumb trail. 16
Specialist Courses There are a number of users who require additional specialist training, if you are one of these users you will be required to complete various Learning Plans which will be visible to you only if you have been allocated one. In this example the user has been allocated two Learning Plans to complete. You may have more, depending on your job role. In this example we are going to complete the Asbestos Awareness Learning Plan. The Learning Plan page will appear with the course or courses that are connected to this plan. Click on the course link, in this case Asbestos Awareness which is the only course associated with this Learning Plan and you will be taken direct to the Asbestos Awareness home page. 17
Work through the course as described previously. Please note the status of your Learning Plan will not update but this is normal. Updating can only be completed by an Administrator.
