Standard Management Features All managed hosting servers are updated with all critical security patches, service packs and hot-fixes to maintain the integrity and performance of servers throughout the life of the hosting solution. This allows CenturyLink to maintain a consistent, controlled environment to minimize unforeseen costs and downtime. For the customer, this means that their platforms are always optimized and up to date. Security threats are evaluated, verified and tested before a hot-fix or patch is recommended to customers. The CenturyLink Customer Portal and Cloud Portal contain detailed information on customer systems that can be searched and parsed to isolate servers that are at risk. This system also allows CenturyLink to pre-determine a reaction strategy that corrects the issue, usually with little or no service disruption. Sometimes a reboot is necessary when a patch is distributed and installed, which CenturyLink will conduct during maintenance hours or coordinate with the customer.
