Module 2: Health Information Exchange Services
Introduction In this module, Health Information Exchange (HIE) will be introduced. This system is designed to provide patient information for THR facilities and, THR partners (physician groups and hospitals) in the HIE. In the Results Inbox users can elect to receive live feeds of patient information in the Results Inbox, including final results of lab and x- rays, as well as transcribed data for their patients. Users can view the patient s HIE chart, as well as individual results, allergies, and medication alerts. This module will also demonstrate how to download or print a Continuity of Care Document (CCD).

2/16/2017 6 Patient Search After entering your username & password, the THR HIE displays the Patient Search page. You may now begin searching for the patient.
2/16/2017 7 Patient Search To Perform a Search: Enter any of the following search criteria alone or in combination: patient name, medical record number, social security number, or date of birth in the search field
Patient Search Click Search (or press Enter) On the Patient Search Results page, the system displays records meeting the search values (see Figure below) based on the user s security rights
2/16/2017 9 Patient Search Select the desired patient from the Patient Search Results list In the Patient Search Results list, the THR HIE displays a + next to a patient name to indicate when there is more than one patient record for the individual in the THR HIE. When you see the + click on it (see Figure below), the record expands, displaying all matching results.
2/16/2017 10 Patient Search To Access Additional Records: Choose the reason for completing an expanded search from the Select your reasons pull down list Click the icon (The THR HIE refreshes the Patient Search Results page and displays additional patient records that may have previously been unavailable.) Select the desired patient from the Patient Search Results list.

2/16/2017 12 Patient Face Sheets The Profile and Face sheet can be accessed by clicking the Profile & Face Sheets button in the patient header. The Demographics tab will show the latest patient demographics. The Face Sheets tab will allow you to view all of the encounter level data

2/16/2017 15 Results Inbox A tool for managing care by displaying face sheets and results in your Results Inbox Results Inbox serves as an excellent resource for identifying recent patient activity. Viewing Results Inbox Items The THR HIE displays delivered face sheets and results in the Results Inbox List. When you select an item from this list, the THR HIE displays the result item in the Previewer panel. 1. In THR HIE Header, click on the Results Inbox. 2. Select any record from the Results Inbox List.
2/16/2017 16 Results Inbox Sorting Records Click a column header (such as NAME) to sort the Results Inbox List using the selected column. The THR HIE sorts the list in ascending order the first time you click the header. Click the header a second time to re-sort the list in descending order.

Medications Medications tab provides clinicians with a patient s allergies.
Documents The Documents tab displays all Continuity of Care Documents (CCDs) contributed to the THR HIE. CCDs are XLM-based care summaries that providers can use to share patient records. CCDs can be shared and exchanged with healthcare entities or interested parties. You can use the THR HIE to generate Continuity of Care Documents (CCDs), as well as, download and print the CCD documents. Documents Downloading (or Saving) a CCD If you have not already accessed the CCD that you that you wish to download (or save), do this first. Click the icon. (Your bowser will display a download confirmation dialog box.) 2/16/2017 Depending on your browser, do one of the following: 29
Documents Printing a CCD If you have not already accessed the CCD that you wish to print, do this first. Click the icon located in the top right corner of the Document Details tab.
