All the properties of video devices, such as video formats, exposure times and many more can be set. It has been specially developed for microscopy applications and is very easy to use. Measurement: IC Measure provides multiple tools for manual measurement (circles, lines, polygons and angles). Using the intuitive interface, it is easy to measure lengths, angles, areas and perimeters directly on the live preview and export the measured data to any spreadsheet application via the CSV export function. Application Example: High Dynamic Range In scenes with both very bright and very dark areas, a typical machine vision camera outputs images in which the dark areas are too dark to distinguish features and shapes. For example, if a person is standing directly in front of a bright window, the camera would either expose the person correctly, but render the scene outside as blown out, or expose the bright scene outside properly, leaving the person underexposed and dark. This is due to the strong back light situation. High dynamic range (HDR) addresses this issue by applying techniques, such as using different exposure times for the same scene, to enable objects in both bright and dark areas to be correctly exposed simultaneously. Thanks to this functionality, cameras with HDR are often used in medical and surveillance applications. 27

Application Example: PCB Manufacturing PCBs and the components that are soldered onto them are getting smaller and smaller. So small, in fact, that it is no longer possible for a human to efficiently check the quality of a PCBs' manufacturing process. The inspection of PCBs has become one of the most important applications for industrial cameras. This highly specialized task is often called "AOI" (Automated Optical Inspection). Primarily, the aim of AOI is to avoid incorrectly manufactured PCBs from being shipped. Similarly, optimization of manufacturing processes is equally important. The two basic aims in this context are to avoid and to detect flaws. AOI helps manufacturing errors be avoided by making parameters available for each step of the process. The values of these parameters are used for optimization purposes.
