Jem Porcaro, Senior Director for Energy Access, United Nations Foundation Jem Porcaro oversees the Foundation s work to expand access to modern energy services and build synergies with UN agencies and key multilateral partners. Jem has over a dozen years of experience working on global development, energy and climate issues. Previously, he worked with Nexant, an energy consulting company, in its government clean energy practice in Asia, where it advised governments and multilateral development organizations on clean energy finance and policy. Jem also worked for four years in the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), helping to oversee its global energy portfolio and elevate clean energy access on the global development agenda. Jem received his master s degree in international affairs, with a concentration in international energy policy and management, from Columbia University and a bachelor of science in civil engineering from Tufts University.

Dan Murphy, Director, Catalyst Off-Grid Advisors Dan Murphy is the Founder of Catalyst Off-Grid Advisors, with over 20 years experience working in 20+ sub-saharan African countries. Prior to Catalyst, Dan co-founded and was CEO of Sage Systems, a Côte d'ivoire-based off-grid solar company. While at the World Bank from 2002 to 2015, he managed Lighting Africa, the World Bank s flagship program to support off-grid energy access, led teams dealing with some of Africa s most complex power generation projects, managed the World Bank office and portfolio in Cameroon, and designed community development projects in west Africa. He holds a Master s Degree from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies and a Bachelor s Degree from Bates College.

Sam Parker, Director, Shell Foundation After graduating from Oxford University in 1983, Sam worked for six years in the agrochemical industry, with a focus on Latin America. After 18 months working as a volunteer with street children in Sao Paulo, Sam returned to business with 11 years at UK commodity trading company, ED&F Man Holdings, becoming Managing Director of the company s Asian business in 2001. In 2002, Sam returned to the development sector becoming Organisational Development Manager at the International Save the Children Alliance. In 2006, Sam joined Water & Sanitation for the Urban Poor (WSUP) as its first CEO. WSUP is a not-for-profit company, a private sector-ngo hybrid, which empowers local providers of water and sanitation services to reach low income urban consumers on a commercially viable basis. By 2014, the WSUP programme had provided over two million low income consumers with improved water and sanitation services and five million with improved the hygiene. In the process, WSUP has contributed valuable learning for the WASH sector on how to leverage private sector knowhow to provide sustainable benefits to the BOP.

Johanna Diecker, Director of Policy, GOGLA Johanna has joined GOGLA as the first employee back in 2013, then holding the position of operations and project manager. Between 2015 and 2017 she was in charge of the enabling environment program, aiming to establish a conducive policy environment catalyzing market development for GOGLA members. As the Policy Director, Johanna drives the continuous development and improvement of policy & advocacy strategies. This includes the management of GOGLA s work on enabling environment, standards and guidelines, and the association s regional representation. Prior to joining GOGLA, Johanna had been working for the GIZ where she was actively involved in the provision of advisory services to the German Federal Ministry for Economic Development and Cooperation regarding ICT4D. She holds Bachelor degrees in Development Studies and Political Science, as well as a Master degree in Political Science from the University of Vienna.
