Cut Sheet Lunera Smart T8 4ft Smart Lamp Replacement for 4ft Fluorescent T8 Type B - Single-Ended, Ballast Bypassed Description The LUNERA SMART T8 4FT lamp is an integral component of Lunera s Ambient Compute Platform. The smart lamp functions both as an energy-saving replacement for T8 fluorescent lamps and as an intelligent IoT device. The lighting element of this smart device operates as a low power, dimmable LED lamp for general ambient lighting. The installation of this smart device mimics the installation of any Type B, single-ended TLED lamp. The lamp s built-in universal driver allows it to operate from 120V-277V line voltage without a ballast. It is not intended to be powered by a ballast or LED driver and requires non-shunted lampholders. The Lunera Smart T8 4FT replaces a 4-foot fluorescent T8 lamp up to 32W with a 15W LED and delivers up to 1,800 lumens. It is available in 3000K, 3500K, 4000K and 5000K CCT, rated at 50,000 hours to L70, and is backed by a five-year warranty. Integrated into the Lunera Smart Lamp s end cap is a: Microcontroller Near-infrared light sensor Low-power Bluetooth (2.4GHz BLE 4.1) radio Wi-Fi radio (2.4GHz 802.11 b/g/n) This device is bundled with a five-year license to Lunera Smart Lamp software and Lunera Cloud access. These are used to setup, manage and monitor the connected Smart Lamp/IoT device infrastructure, upon which Lunera Ambient Compute Apps may also run for value-added functionality. Both the lamp and platform are DLC QPL listed. LUNERA SMART T8 4FT 24 of 9 Smart Lamp Hardware The electronics hardware package, which distinguishes the Lunera Smart Lamp from standard lamps or other connected lighting solutions, is integrated into the Lunera Smart Lamp to simplify installation and enhance performance. These feature integrations enable the lamp to locally sense, communicate, process and interact with it s environment and IoT devices within its range. Bluetooth (BLE 4.1) Radio An integrated, 2.4GHz Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE 4.1) radio is used to register the lamp to the Control Center facility manager in the cloud during installation. Once registered, the lamp s Wi-Fi and Bluetooth MAC Addresses are identified on a facility map and the lamps are ready for commissioning and policy updates. The Bluetooth radio has several functions including: Lamp-to-Lamp Communication Lamps connect with nearby lamps via BLE, forming the Lunera Ambient Cloud, to exchange setup credentials and communicate sensor and switch state changes. IoT Device Communication The Lunera Smart Lamps communicate/interact via BLE with smartphones and local IoT devices, including switches, PIR sensors, thermostats, asset tags, etc. Beacon Reception The Bluetooth radio can be used to listen for beacons for applications such as asset tracking, space utilization and occupancy or foot traffic detection. Supported beacon s include Apple ibeacon and Eddystone. Beacon Transmission The BLE radio can also transmit a Lunera custom L-Beacon (based on open-standards Alt-Beacon), Apple ibeacon or Eddystone for applications such as wayfinding, proximity marketing and other location-based services. Lighting Control The Lunera Smart T8 4FT has an integrated Microcontroller to manage the lamp state (on/off/light-level and monitor energy usage. Wi-Fi Radio The device has an integrated 2.4GHz 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi radio. It uses Guest Wi-Fi from the facility host Wi-Fi, to form an airgap and eliminate the need for a dedicated platform gateway. The Wi-Fi radio facilitates: Data Uplink/Policy Updates Lunera Smart Lamps connect with the Lunera Control Center to uplink data and state information and to download policy updates. Access to the Marketplace The Lunera Ambient Cloud Marketplace in the Lunera Cloud, is home to the Ambient Compute Apps. Headless Operation In the event that Wi-Fi is unavailable or at the end of the five-year Lunera Smart Lamp Software licensing period, the lamps continue to operate autonomously in a headless mode based on their latest policy update. Simple on/off and dimming can be controlled via the Bluetooth Lunera Remote app. The Lunera Smart Lamp Software license may be extended annually after its initial five-year period ends. ALS (Ambient Light Sensing) The device integrates a near-infrared ambient light sensor that can differentiate sunlight from LED light without suffering from lens attenuation. The Lunera Smart Lamp reaction to light levels is softwareconfigurable by scenes or events. Lamp states are communicated in policy updates through the Wi-Fi network.

LUNERA SMART T8 4FT 52 of 9 Smart Lamp Software Lunera Smart T8 is a connected lamp / IoT device that is installed, managed and monitored through cloud-based software. The Lunera Cloud and a suite of lamp management software, the Lunera Smart Lamp Software, is included with the lamp. This software is licensed for five-years with each lamp. At the end of the five-year license, the lamps will revert to a headless operating state. Lamp functions, including integrated ambient light sensors and the Bluetooth radio will continue operating, enabling uninterrupted lamp function and continued response to the occupancy sensors, switches and the Lunera Remote app. However, access to the Lunera Cloud, Lunera Control Center the Lunera Smart Lamp Software applications will be disabled. The last updated lamp policy will remain in effect. The Lunera Smart Lamp Software license can be renewed after five-years. Lunera Cloud Each installation is provisioned a secure account in the Lunera Cloud. The Lunera Cloud is the home for the Lunera Control Center, lighting management apps and the Lunera Ambient Compute Marketplace. Data, reporting and account administration is managed in the Cloud. Lunera Control Center The Lunera Control Center is used to: Manage users and permissions View the operational status of the Lunera Smart Lamp infrastructure Setup and manage the connected devices in the facility Review alerts related to the installation Access the Marketplace with apps bundles System Dashboard The dashboard reports on the operational status of the installed Lunera Smart Lamps, status of installed apps and other information depending upon bundle subscriptions. Facility Management Each building, floor, zone and room is mapped in the Facility Management tool. This tool creates a facility map of all registered Lunera Smart Lamps, accessories and other connected devices. Alerts System and connected service alerts are presented in an alert log. Errors, warnings and information updates will help the system administrator determine causes of system status changes and check on app status. Marketplace Access Apps and APIs are available through the Marketplace. These subscription applications and services are developed by Lunera or approved 3rd party ecosystem partners.

LUNERA SMART T8 4FT 62 of 9 Smart Lamp Software, continued Lighting Management Apps Another component of the Lunera Smart Lamp Software suite are apps to manage lighting. Commissioning, scene management, rules management and basic lamp energy reporting are used to define how the Lunera Smart Lamp will behave under various conditions. The simple drag and drop application lets a specific lamp to be quickly identified. Registration is done by dragging the installed lamp to its fixture provision on the facility map. Multi-zone Scene setup, copy, edit, delete by zone to define energy policies Set brightness and occupancy time out by zone Enable multiple zones simultaneously Author energy policy rules (using Python programming) A schedule runs all rules, executing and applying scene changes as needed. Lunera Installer App for Android After fixtures have been wired and the Lunera Smart Lamps are installed, the installer will use the Bluetooth connected Lunera Installer app to activate each lamp by registering its Bluetooth and W-Fi MAC Addresses to the facility map that was built in the Lunera Control Center. Lunera Remote App for Android and ios The Lunera Smart Lamps Software also include a Lunera Remote smartphone app. Through Bluetooth from a smartphone, this application enables the Lunera Smart Lamps to be: turned on/off manually dimmed manually This application is useful in conjunction with installed Lunera Smart Switches and Lunera Smart PIR Sensors before commissioning the Smart Lamps and establishing energy policies. It s also helpful in the event that facility Wi-Fi is offline and the lamp system is operating in a headless mode. The Android-based app also enables the installer to a move, add or delete fixtures on the map based on the actual facility space.

LUNERA SMART T8 4FT 72 of 9 Smart Lamp Accessories Battery-Powered Bluetooth Switches A Bluetooth switch combines the functionality of a traditional switch with Bluetooth technology, which enables the switch to wirelessly control the remote devices. The Lunera Smart Switch accessory is a system that combines a mechanical rocker switch with a battery power board and a wired faceplate that houses the integrated Bluetooth Low Energy (2.4GHz BLE 4.1) radio and antenna. Ultra-low power consumption allows the switch to operate with a single 3V CR2450 lithium battery making it simple to install anywhere. The Lunera Smart Sensors use Bluetooth Low Energy (2.4GHz BLE 4.1) technology to wirelessly trigger lightlevel/state changes in remote Lunera Smart Lamps within their zone. Occupancy Detect and Occupancy Lost beacons, as well as other status alarms are transmitted from the Lunera Smart Sensors to the Lunera Smart Lamps, which relay state changes to the Lunera Control Center for display in the Control Center Alerts panel. Ultra-low power consumption allows the sensors to operate for up to two-years on two AA batteries. The sensors use the latest detection and induction technologies including Energy Accumulation Management, Dynamic Random Time Division Technology, advanced digital intrusion sensor MCU and multi-zone comprehensive induction with fuzzy algorithms to deliver stable, reliable detection with fewer false detections. LUNERA SMART T8 4FT 82 of 9 Lunera Ambient Compute Apps Lunera Smart Lamps deliver inherent energy savings as a low power LED lighting source. Connectivity and software -based lighting management apps enable the lamps to transform a facility lighting system into a robust and extensible communications and IoT infrastructure that forms an Ambient Cloud throughout the facility. This infrastructure becomes the perfect platform for value-added apps which are poised to redefine the benefits a facility can deliver to its owners, occupants and visitors. Lunera Ambient Compute Marketplace Lunera Ambient Compute applications are in continuous development by Lunera and Lunera Ambient Compute Ecosystem Partners. They are licensed through the Lunera Ambient Marketplace panel in the Lunera Control Center. Access to the Lunera Ambient Compute Marketplace is predicated on a valid Lunera OS subscription and user permissions.
