1. Getting Started 1.1. Checking Supplied Items Make sure that you have following items supplied with your DVR. If any of these items are missing or damaged, notify your vendor immediately. CD (VMS / RMS Software) IR Remote Controller AAA 1.5V Batteries 2ea or Coin Battery Adapter (12VDC/5A) and/or Power Code Handles Refer to the [User Manual] for functional explanation of Front Panel, Rear Panel and IR Remote Controller. Spec and functions are subject to change without notice. Some functions may not be available depending on models. 1.2. User Login After turning on the system, Menu Bar pops up by clicking the right button of the mouse or pressing [MENU] button in the front panel. And click the log-in button. Click the Password Button to call virtual keypad and input password. Click [OK] to finish login process. 3
Default Admin. Password : 00000 1.3. Time Setting and HDD Format Go to the menu of [{Menu} {Setup} {Time}] and make a proper time/date setting based on your time zone. User has to format new HDD before use. Go to the menu of [{Menu} {Setup} {Storage}] and select the HDD for Recording-Init. 1.4. Setup Setup is to help user for easy configuration for recording resolution, recording speed, recording mode and recording quality. Select [{Menu} {Setup} {Action} {Recording}]. The initial recording setup is [Recording Resolution: CIF], [Recording Quality: High], [Normal Speed : (25 / 30) Frame], [Event Speed : (25 / 30) Frame]. 4

2.3. Using Pop-Up Menu Menu window pops up by clicking the right button of the mouse or pressing [MENU] button on the front panel. User can click the Playback icon to playback. 6
2.5. Backup Mode User can easily archive video image. Click a Backup icon on the Menu Bar. Backup window will be shown, then, select the backup media such as CD/DVD or USB thumb drive and select time and channel to be recorded. Execute archiving. 2.6. PTZ Mode User can get into PTZ mode by clicking PTZ Control icon on the Menu Bar. 7
3. Network Setting 3.1. Public, Static IP Go to the menu of [{Menu} {Setup} {Network} {Ethernet}] and check TCP/IP and input IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway. (IP address is assigned by ISP.) 3.2. Public, Dynamic IP without IP Router Go to the menu of [{Menu} {Setup} {Network} {Ethernet}] and check DHCP. Go to the menu of [{Menu} {Setup} {Network} {DDNS}] and select DDNS On. 3.3. Public, Dynamic IP with IP Router 3.3.1 DVR IP Setting Go to the menu of [{Menu} {Setup} {Network} {Ethernet}] and check TCP/IP and input IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway. (Router IP address : 192.168.0.#, DVR IP address : 25) 8
3.3.2 Router Setting (Port Forwarding) Input a router IP address (192.168.0.1) and go to router setting. There are 2 ways to set port forwarding up as below. 1) DMZ : Enable DMZ and input the DVR IP Address 192.168.0.25. 2) Port forwarding: Set up 2000 to 2008. 9
3.3.3 DDNS Setting Go to the menu of [{Menu} {Setup} {Network} {DDNS}] and select DDNS On and input Host Domain Name. (DDNS from IP router can also be applied.) Ex) Host Domain Name : 000c28020f3f.cctvuser.com hotel.cctvuser.com 4 Web Viewer through Microsoft I/E 10
The System is equipped with built-in web server. Thus user can be connected to the system by I/E web-browser for live monitoring, playback or remote setup configuration. [Setting in IE Web browser] 1) Input IP address or Domain name 2) After downloading Active-X file. Log-in dialog box will show up. Input Address, Port, User ID, Password. Port : 2000 User Name : user1 Password : 1111111 [Live & Playback] 1) Click [Live] or [Playback] button in the bottom of the window 2) Double click the screen of channel or select [Channel mode]. 3) Click [Trick mode] button in Playback [Remote Setup Configuration] 1) Click [M] button in the bottom of the window 2) Select [DVR Setup Manager] in popup menu 3) User can remotely make full setting of the system. 5 Remote Software 11
5.3 RMS (Remote Monitoring Software) RMS is the basic remote monitoring software, offering Live Monitoring, Go to Playback & Download, System upgrade, System setup configuration. 5.3.1 Site Registration 1) Following the selection of button and Server Manager at popup menu, Server Manager window pop up. 2) There are functions for server add, delete, change at Server Manager. 3) Click on Add and enter a alias name, description, IP address, port, camera count, user name, password and password confirm. For the first time login, select Administrator. Administrator is registered as a fundamental user. 3) Enter a password. For the first time login, enter an administrator password. The administrator password 1111111. After login, change the administrator password. Password : 1111111 4) The program starts if the password is right. 5.4.2 Site Connection 1) Select Setup -> Site Manager menu. Site Manager Setup window shows up. 2) In Site Manager, functions including site add, delete, modify, all select, all clear and properties are available. 13
3) Click on Add and enter a alias name, description, IP address, port, camera count, user name, password and password confirm. 4) VMS program automatically starts a connection to tick addresses in Site Manager after successful login. 5) In Site Connection List, select a desired security device icon to be monitored. 6) Drag the icon into the viewer screen, and then all channel of the security device are displayed. 6 Mobile Web Viewer (WAP Connection) WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) is a system which allows devices such as mobile phones to connect to the Internet. If user wants to connect to the DVR especially under narrow-bandwidth network situation by sing 2G cellular phone, it is recommended to use WAP connection. It is the most simple and convenient way for mobile web viewing because there is no need to install any client software on the phone. Just type in IP address on the phone, then clear JPEG image is automatically refreshed by about 3 seconds interval depending on the network situation. Input the IP address on the phones with following format. http://sytem_ip/ (ex, http://123.123.123.123) If web port is changed to 8080 (ex, http://123.123.123.123:8080) If using a public DDNS server (ex, http://yourddnsname.dvrdns.org) 1) If connection is in successful mode, PC Web Viewer and Mobile Web Viewer to select window will show up. 2) Mobile Web Viewer selected. Input User ID and Password(same one in the System Menu) 3) Click channel number button to get the video image JPEG image is shown and refreshed by 3~6 seconds interval depending on the network situation. 7 SmartEyes (Mobile Viewer through Smart Phones) SmartEyes is the mobile viewer software that allows user to view video image from the DVR on the smart phones. By installing the corresponding SmartEyes software on the smart phone, user can view 16channel live video/audio, PTZ control, PTZ zoom in/out through WAP, Wi-Fi for Dial-up Network (3G) 7.1 iphone SmartEyes software for iphone is registered at App Store, hence you have to get your Apple account registered at same App Store for software download. 7.2 ipad SmartEyesHD software for ipad is registered at App Store, hence you have to get your Apple account registered at same App Store for software download. 16
