_ LUCIADFUSION PRODUCT DATA SHEET V2016

LuciadFusion is the solution for efficient and effective use of geospatial data. It allows you to organize your data so that each user has one-click access to a data set specifically optimized for his use case. LuciadFusion addresses any scenario where there is a need for one or more of the following requirements: Central data management Fast access and fusion of multiple data sources High-volume data processing High-volume data storage Feeding data to multiple applications from a central source PRACTICAL INFORMATION LuciadFusion is a product that can be used independently from any other Luciad products. LuciadLightspeed, LuciadMobile and LuciadRIA provide native access to the LuciadFusion services. Usage of third party clients is also possible, using OGC web services. This means that LuciadFusion can cooperate with legacy applications to receive input from or serve results to these applications. The LuciadFusion server is platform independent and deployable in any Java EE compliant servlet container. The following diagram provides a high level overview of LuciadFusion and how it can interact with other Luciad and non-luciad software components. KEY BENEFITS Easy and intuitive data management by non-gis specialists Faster data processing than with any other commercial solution Enhanced user experience through highly performant web services OPTIMAL DATA ACCESS OPTIMAL DATA HANDLING PRESERVATION OF IMAGE BAND, DIMENSIONAL AND HIGH DYNAMIC RANGE (HDR) INFORMATION INTEROPERABILITY High-performance & user-friendly data access, scalable to large datasets, intelligent data optimization, any data format. Central management of data distribution, including data replication, feed to multiple applications, control network usage, single-click themed access for end-users, open standards or performance-optimized delivery, retained accuracy of pointsampled data and floating point data. Support for scientific sensor data, such as satellite imagery and meteorological data. Maintain information and bit depth of multispectral, hyperspectral, and multidimensional imagery for further analysis and processing after fusion, and distribute full or selected data sets through Luciad and OGC protocols. Integration in any environment, feed to any application, receive from any source. CUSTOMIZABLE The product allows you to meet your project requirements 100%. AUTONOMOUS COMPONENTS AUTOMATION OF DATA MANAGEMENT The LuciadFusion components are fully decoupled. Users can easily run a data management application on a simple desktop machine, while running the actual data fusion process on a highend server and storing the fused data on a storage server. The fusion process can continue to run on its own (e.g., at night), without the need for the user to stay connected. At any time, a user can connect to the data fusion process and track its progress, pause / stop it or start a new process. Together with the capability to exchange data between LuciadFusion services, users can easily fuse multiple datasets on multiple servers in parallel and later on merge them all without writing a single line of code. LuciadFusion automatically configures the most appropriate settings for the fusion of data. Feature and raster data can be pre-configured, fused and distributed with very detailed filtering and styling information. This information is stored as OGCcompliant Symbology Encoding (SE) information. 3

CENTRAL MANAGEMENT OF DISTRIBUTED DATA SETS MANAGEMENT & DISTRIBUTION OF ECDIS MARITIME NAVIGATION DATA Distribute both data production and consumption across multiple LuciadFusion instances to ensure data redundancy and robustness. Challenges such as security restrictions, limited connectivity and limited bandwidth can be handled efficiently by making central dataset selections based on need and areaof-interest, and replicating those selections to other systems at convenient times and locations. Easily manage and distribute Electronic chart Display Information System (ECDIS) data, in compliance with International Maritime Organization (IMO) and International Hydrographic Organization (IHO) standards. Import and manage data in the IHO S-57 and encrypted S-63 formats, style it according to the IHO S-52 visualization standard, and distribute the data over the network to Luciad applications and other OGC-compatible applications. USAGE DOMAINS LuciadFusion accesses geospatial data from any database, service, or file, through an easy-to-use Data Management application. This data can be managed into different information products or Themes, combining different datasets as required by each specific user group. The required data can then easily be served to one or more functional applications. The LuciadFusion Data Server serves the data and relevant meta-data directly into LuciadLightspeedbased applications by means of a high performance Tile Service. Alternatively, non-luciad-based applications can access the same information through standard OGC protocols. Customers select LuciadFusion for the benefits of Intelligent Data Management, High-volume Data Processing & Storage, and serving data to multiple Situational Awareness applications from a central source. The focus of LuciadFusion is on the usage domains where easy access to geospatial data is vital: AVIATION DEFENSE MARITIME PUBLIC SAFETY & HOMELAND SECURITY UTILITIES & LOGISTICS Air traffic control (ATC), air traffic management (ATM), aeronautical information services (AIS) and management (AIM) C4ISR applications, mission planning systems, common operational picture (COP) On-shore traffic monitoring, networked consoles on large vessels, harbor security Border protection systems, dispatch centers for emergency response Urban planning, infrastructure asset management 4

FUNCTIONAL SPECIFICATION The three main components of LuciadFusion are: DATA CONNECTIVITY MANAGER FUSION ENGINE DATA SERVER This is a ready-to-use application that lets the data specialist take in data from any source and organize it into themes that will be provided to the end-users. It has an API and a customizable user interface. The Fusion engine optimizes raster and vector data by bringing different data sources together in themes (as defined through the data connectivity manager). This involves operations such as tiling, multi-leveling, re-projecting, vector feature simplification and feature filtering. It can also involve custom manipulations. The data server makes vector and raster data available on the network. This can be done either through the LuciadFusion tile service protocol, optimizing performance, or through the standard OGC protocols, optimizing interoperability. It supports advanced querying and filtering. FORMATS & STANDARDS* LuciadFusion supports the following data formats: RASTER DATA ADRG, ASRP, BCI, BIL, BMP, CADRG, CIB, DTED, ECRG, ECW, ESRI TFW & JGW, ETOPO, GeoPDF, GeoTIFF, GIF, Google Earth Enterprise (GEE) (Beta), GRIB, JPEG, JPEG2000, MapInfo TAB, MrSID, NetCDF, NITF, NSIF, Oracle Spatial, PNG, PPM, Spot DIMAP, Swiss DHM, USGS DEM, USRP.
