Clean out the guttering BEFORE fitting BMM and start the fitting from one end or from a hip (external corner). To preserve the effectiveness of the BMM System ensure that ladders are not placed against the edge of the gutter, as this may cause the gutter to distort, which may cause the BMM to dislodge. With all types and styles of roof fit the Valley Mesh first. BLUE MOUNTAIN MESH - SHEETS TILE ROOFS - SHEETS 1. Fit the formed edge of the BMM onto the outer edge of the gutter and lay the top edge onto the roof. 2. Hold the mesh in position making sure that the mesh is fitting snugly onto the gutter and that the mesh has a convex shape (12mm) and mark with tin snips at both sides at the face of the second tile. 3. Cut the mesh in a straight line from mark to mark. Overlap each section of mesh 1 or 2 squares being sure to snip out 1 or 2 squares (Super Mesh 15mm) at the roll edge of the mesh so the sheets overlap neatly. Notch out the formed edge to allow a two square overlap (one side only), and refit to the roof. 4. Ensure that the mesh is fitting correctly up to the face of the second tile (not too flat or convex) Insert a screwdriver between the overlap of the tiles, twist or lift the screwdriver to lift the second tile up slightly, push the Tile Clip through the top two strands of the BMM and under the tile, then remove the screwdriver. For Super Mesh use Z Clips or snip the wire strands to make a slot to use standard clips. CLIPS Standard Tile Clips - Fit with the larger bend pointing upwards, when the screwdriver is released the weight of the tile will hold the clip firmly in place. Place the blade of the screw driver up against the clip and bump the clip firmly home so as to hold the mesh snugly up against the face of the tile. One clip in the centre of each tile is sufficient. If using Z Clips fit the clips first, bow the mesh upwards and push under the Z Clips. Security Clip - The purpose of the security clip is to hold the gutter up when it is full of water when there are not sufficient gutter brackets fitted. The security clip fits under the second tile and hooks over the back edge of the first tile and lays on top of the first tile around 50mm from the face of the second tile. The security clip has a starter hole drilled in it and a screw is placed through the mesh into the clip. This will hold the gutter up and keep the mesh in constant contact with the face of the second tile. Page 3 of 12

All orders for tile mesh include a security clip for every 1800mm. It is critical, that opposite every security clip, a screw MUST be placed through the mesh at the gutter edge. Wherever possible position the security clip midway between the gutter brackets. Screws MUST be opposite each other. Screw through the mesh into the Security Clip Screw through the mesh and into the outside edge of the gutter. Figure #1. These clips are not a substitute for correct gutter support, they will in most instances assist in holding the gutter up. Building owners should be advised to fit the gutter brackets to meet the Standard when the gutters are next replaced. 5. Tie the BMM sheets together at the overlaps using the special mesh stitching screws made from UV protected long life material. These screws have a 3mm hex. drive and if you fit the hex. drive into a battery operated drill the job will be done super quick. Rotate the screws through the mesh until both sections free wheel at the top of the screw. Two screws per overlap evenly spaced is sufficient. For Super Mesh use standard metal screws to join the sheets together. For high wind areas or for extra security a metal stitching screw (provided) can be placed through the overlap of the sheets and into the roll of the gutter on the outer edge. CORRUGATED ROOFS & BULL NOSE VERANDAHS - SHEETS 1. For mesh in sheets; fit the formed edge of the BMM onto the outer edge of the gutter and lay the top edge onto the roof. 2. Notch out the formed edge of the mesh with tin snips to allow the mesh to overlap each other 2 squares. 3. Tie the BMM sheets together at the overlaps using the special mesh stitching screws made from UV protected long life material. These screws have a 3mm hex. drive and if you fit the hex. drive into a battery operated drill the job will be done super quick. Rotate the screws through the mesh until both sections free wheel at the top of the screw. One joining screw per overlap evenly spaced is sufficient. For Super Mesh use the standard metal screws provided. 4. Place a BMM Metal Flashing over the top edge of the BMM at one end and run a string line through to the other end of the run to line up the flashings. NB. Ensure that the mesh fits under the metal flashing 15mm NO MORE. Page 4 of 12

5. IMPORTANT - The BMM Metal Flashings MUST butt up or overlap slightly on the SAME overlap of the existing roof sheet. When some roofs are fitted to buildings that are out of square, the roof sheets are sometimes expanded or contracted to compensate. In instances such as this it may be necessary to cut the profiles in two or in a worse case scenario, three, or for a damaged roof trim the BMM Metal Flashing to ensure a snug fit. Do not over tighten and strip the screws or they may leak. For high wind areas or for extra security a metal stitching screw (provided) can be placed through the overlap of the sheets and into the roll edge of the gutter on the outer edge. TRIM DECK/FLAT PAN ROOFS - SHEETS 1. Fit the formed edge of the BMM onto the outer edge of the gutter and lay the top edge onto the roof making sure that the overlaps of the mesh match the overlaps of the roof sheets. Push the mesh toward the gutter and hold with slight tension against it, place a screw through the mesh into the roof at the bottom of the V s to hold the mesh in place. 2. Before fitting the next sheet notch the sheet out with tin snips on the formed edge so that it will allow the sheets to overlap each other. Fit as before. 3. Tie the BMM sheets together at the overlaps using the special mesh stitching screws made from UV protected long life material. These screws have a 3mm hex. drive and if you fit the hex. drive into a battery operated drill the job will be done super quick. Rotate the screws through the mesh until both sections free wheel at the top of the screw. One screw per overlap evenly spaced is sufficient. 4. Attach the mesh to the roof at all the ridges with a metal screw, at the upper most edge (the bottom of the notched out V section of the mesh). 5. Place a Saddle over all the ridges in the roof sheet on the leading edge of the mesh, in the pan and push the saddle down the roof towards the gutter to create tension on the mesh to hold it flat down into the pan. Two squares back from the leading edge is normal. For high wind areas or for extra security a metal stitching screw (provided) can be placed through the overlap of the sheets and into the roll edge of the gutter on the outer edge. Figure #2 For All Roofs Make sure that the top wires of the mesh run the same way as the roof sheets. (at 90 degrees to the roof gutter). Page 5 of 12

TILE ROOF BLUE MOUNTAIN MESH - ROLLS (CONTINUOUS) 1. Roll the mesh out along the roof with the selvage (uncut) edge towards the gutter for Standard Mesh (5.4mm) and the CUT edge to the gutter for Super Mesh (4mm). TRIM OFF ANY PRICKLES ON THE EDGE ALONG THE GUTTER TO MAKE IT SAFE. For Standard Mesh make sure that the top wires run up and down the roof see Fig. #2. 2. Screw the mesh to the gutter at intervals of 250mm placing the screws through the first or second square from the edge of the mesh depending on the method chosen, be sure to keep the mesh tight each time. 3. Cut the mesh along the face of the second tile - don t cut it too short allow 5mm approx. Cut a section about 3 tiles long and see if the mesh will push neatly down into position, if not trim a little off until you get it right, then cut the full length of the mesh. N.B. Be sure to fit the security clips every 1800mm BEFORE rolling out the mesh. See Fig. #1. If using Z clips fit the Z clips, fit 2 clips per tile before cutting the mesh (it is easier). After cutting the mesh to the correct width pull the mesh towards you so that it bulges up slightly and push under the Z clips one at a time making sure to push the mesh right to the back of the clip. If using standard clips ensure that the mesh is fitting up to the face of the second tile and insert a screwdriver between the overlap of the tiles, twist or lift the screwdriver to lift the second tile up slightly, push the Tile Clip through the top two strands of the mesh and under the tile, then remove the screwdriver. Fit the Tile Clip with the larger bend pointing upwards, when the screwdriver is released the weight of the tile will hold the clip firmly in place. Place the blade of the screw driver up against the clip and bump the clip firmly home so as to hold the mesh snugly up against the face of the tile. One STANDARD clip in the centre of each tile is sufficient. For Super Mesh (4mm) you will have to cut one wire to make a slot to push the clip through. 4. If joining a roll, overlap the joins about 30mm and screw through the two sheets at the gutter edge and fit the special plastic joining screws through the opening in the mesh and wind with a 3mm hex drive key until both pieces of mesh are held together. Two joining screws per overlap should be sufficient. METAL ROOFS Corrugated/Spandeck/Longspan 1. Carry out steps 1 & 2 above. 2. Placing and the fixing of the metal profiles are very important. Start fitting the profiles at the centre of the overlap of the roof sheet. Put the first finger against the overlap cut edge and lay the profiles end to end making sure to adjust them left to right to get a good fit. For best results use a string line to keep the profiles straight. At times the profiles may overlap or be slightly apart, because some roofs are fitted to buildings that are out of square, the roof sheets are sometimes expanded or contracted to compensate. If this problem becomes too great it may be necessary to cut the profiles in halves or into two or three fingers to make a better fit. 3. If joining a roll overlap the joins two squares (30mm for Super Mesh 4mm) and screw through the two sheets at the gutter edge and fit the special plastic joining screws provided through the opening in the mesh and wind them with a 3mm hex drive key until both pieces of mesh are held together neatly. Two joining screws per overlap should be sufficient. Page 6 of 12

Caution; Do not over tighten the fixing screws for the fingers because if they are over tightened it will lift the points of the fingers and stripped screws may leak. When fitting BMM Roll On - Optional After screwing the mesh to the edge of the gutter lift the mesh up gently, which will bend the mesh at the gutter edge slightly and when pushed back down on the roof it will take away the majority of the concave effect. It just makes it look a bit better. Be sure not to place the profiles over the mesh too far, 15mm is sufficient. The more the profiles overlap the mesh the more the mesh will want to concave. DO NOT LIFT THE MESH UP TOO FAR, OR WHEN IT IS PLACED BACK ON THE ROOF OR THE FRONT EDGE WILL LIFT UP. For screw fixing placement see Fig. #3. For Corrugated Roofs This system is designed for the profiles to fit ABOVE the existing line of roof screws using the special screws provided. DOMED VALLEY MESH - SHEET INSTALLATION Valleys are one of the most difficult sections of the roof drainage system to keep free of leaves and debris. There are no products on the market that can guarantee that they will take the debris from the valley and shed it to the ground. What this valley mesh does is it creates a void between the mesh and the valley, which under normal conditions will ensure that the valley gutter stays free of blockage thus minimising the possibility of the eaves and ceiling of the house being flooded. Steps: Start fitting the valley mesh 100mm up the valley from the end of the roof sheet where it enters the gutter and work up to the ridge overlapping each section by 2 mesh squares. #1. Squeeze the mesh together until the folded edges fit into the valley. #2 Push the mesh down evenly so that it spreads and fits snug. Fit the valley mesh UNDER the gutter mesh at the bottom of the valley. 3. Secure each section of valley mesh together at the overlap using the stitching screws provided. One screw per join for narrow mesh 2 for wide mesh. Page 7 of 12

FLASHED VALLEY MESH FOR CORRUGATED ROOFS - ROLL - INSTALLATION Flashed valleys require precise measuring because each valley around a building can have different angles. The kit consists of a roll of Super Mesh (4mm) 300mm wide and flashings machine cut to fit down each side of the valley over the edge of the mesh. How to Fit Roll the mesh out from top to bottom, screw the mesh off each side at the top, put in two screws each side one flute apart, making sure that the mesh is central down the valley and that the screws are 30mm back from the edge of the mesh, pull the mesh reasonably tight and fix at the bottom and place screws as per the top and fit the flashings each side. Corrugated Roof Valley Mesh Valley Flashings Both Sides Gutter Flashed Valley Mesh MUST fit over/on top of the gutter mesh. Gutter Mesh Hips All Roofs Fit the mesh #2 from point #5, notching the mesh out to suit the ridge #1 (be careful not to notch out too much, the steeper the pitch the less you notch out). Attach the mesh #2 to the gutter #3 at point #5. Secure the top edge of the mesh to the roof with flashings or clips. Cut the mesh #4 and slide down and fasten at #5 then attach the two sections together at #6 with the special plastic stitching screws provided (for Super Mesh use metal screws). Figure #4 #4. PRODUCT WARRANTY 1. Rain Harvesting Pty Ltd (ABN 11 113 300 093) (the Company) of 28-34 Reginald Street, Rocklea Queensland 4106, warrants that for the Warranty Period set out in paragraph 2, all Blue Mountain Mesh gutter protection systems product(s) manufactured by the Company (Product(s)) will retain a structural integrity (including corrosion to product failure) to perform as a barrier according to product specification to leaf litter and pests for the duration of the Warranty Period (Warranty). Warranty Period 2. The Warranty Period is 12 years from the date that the Product(s) are purchased. Warranty is additional 3. This Warranty is in addition to and does not exclude, restrict or modify in any way any non-excludable statutory rights you may have, including any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law (1). 4. The Company provides the following advice to all Customers who are consumers as defined by the Australian Consumer Law and to whom the Australian Consumer Law applies, as required by the Australian Consumer Law: Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. Conditions to claiming under this Warranty 5. You must provide the original proof of purchase for the Product(s) and proof of the date of installation to claim on the Warranty. 6. You must notify the Company within a reasonable time (and in any event no more than 30 days) after you first noticed or ought reasonably to have noticed the issue/defect. If you do not notify the Company of the Warranty claim within a reasonable time of you first noticing the issue/defect, the Company may in its absolute discretion deny the claim and you will have no liability under this Warranty. 7. This Warranty only applies where a defect has arisen, wholly or substantially, as a result of faulty manufacture, parts and where such defect appears during the Warranty Period. 8. You must be able to lawfully allow the Company to inspect the property on which the Product is installed to determine the cause of the problem. 9. This Warranty does not cover nor extend to, in respect of the exterior paint system, normal weathering which includes a natural reduction in paint gloss and a natural colour change of the paint finish. This Warranty does not cover against aesthetic surface corrosion including teabag staining. 10. This Warranty covers only the Product, it does not cover the gutter, fascia boards, or roof substrate or surface, or any damage to those items caused by the installation of the Product. 11. The Company does not guarantee that any replacements of the Product made under the Warranty will be in all respects identical with the replaced Product, or precise colour matching, but it will use its best endeavours to use a Product as closely matching the original as possible. Exclusions 12. The Warranty does not apply in the following circumstances: a. where the Product(s) have been installed less than 500 metres from a salt marine environment (calm or breaking surf) or heavy industrial conditions; b. where non Company fixtures are used in the installation of the Product or any other non Company approved materials are used; c. where mechanical, chemical or other damage has been sustained during the handling, storage or installation of the Product or subsequent to delivery of the Product; d. where the damage has been sustained due to chemical agents, fumes, liquids or solids (other than direct acidic free rain or acidic free run off) falling onto the Product; (1) Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act (Cth) 2011 bluemountainmesh.com.au

PRODUCT WARRANTY Exclusions (cont d) e. where the Product(s) have come in contact with soil, ash, fertilizer, moisture retaining substances, lead or copper and other dissimilar metals, chemical agents, liquid from copper flashings or copper pipes, green or wet timber or treated timber (Refer to Corrosion Technical Bulletin CTB-12 Dissimilar Metals and CTB-13 Contact with Timber, which are available from www.bluescopesteel.com.au for further information; f. where the Product(s) have been subject to an unusually corrosive environment or have been placed in heavy industrial conditions; g. where the damage results from a storm and tempest, earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes, cyclones, typhoons, gales, lightning, hail, fires, flood and other similarly extreme acts of God ; h. where the Product has not been installed in accordance with i. Company installation guidelines ii. BlueScope Steel guidelines (refer to Corrosion Technical Bulletin CTB- 12 Dissimilar Metals, which are available from www.bluescopesteel.com.au ); iii. appropriate building code and/or standard or in accordance with the requirements of the local government authority or the Product has been installed on a building that does not comply with the above codes and or standards; i. where the Product(s) have not been maintained in accordance with the maintenance instructions for the Product(s); j. where there has been a failure to remove debris and/or allow free drainage of water (including condensation) from all surfaces surrounding the Product; k. where the damage has arisen as a result of a failure to replace corroded fasteners/rivets; l. where the damage is accidental or is intentional damage caused by a person or damage caused by an animal; m. where the Product has come into contact with lead or copper or is subject to water run-off from lead or copper materials; n. where the damage arises due to normal wear and tear; o. where you have failed to specify a site condition or specification at the time of ordering the Product(s), which subsequently affects the operation of the Product(s); p. where damage is caused by abuse, mishandling or failure to follow operating instructions; or q. where damage occurs during shipping or other transit. 13. This warranty is void if post paint treatments or systems have been applied to the Product. 14. Subject to any applicable laws which cannot be excluded, modified or restricted, including as described in paragraphs 3 and 4, this Warranty does not cover: a. injury to persons, damage to property, loss of income, profit or business or any other consequential or indirect loss arising from or in any other way connected with the use or failure of the Product otherwise than as expressly set out in this Warranty. How to claim under this Warranty 15. Instructions for making a claim under this Warranty: a. You must provide the Company with a description of the problem encountered with the Product(s), the Product(s) part number or description and date of purchase. Most importantly, you must provide the Company the original proof of purchase (such as a receipt or any other evidence of the purchase). You will bear the cost of notifying the Company of any claim you make under this Warranty. c. Claims under this Warranty may only be made within the Warranty Period. What the Company will do 16. Subject to clauses 5 and 6: a. If the Company is informed of any claim within the Warranty Period and that claim is within the terms of this Warranty, the Company will make arrangements for the replacement of the Product(s), at the sole discretion and cost of the Company. b. If the Company does not accept a claim under this Warranty, the Company will inform you in writing that the Warranty claim was not accepted and the reasons for non-acceptance.
