Review both readmes thoroughly before installing Calculation Manager. 1

New Features For a description of the Calculation Manager new features for this release, see the Oracle Hyperion Calculation Manager New Features. Translation Support This release supports non-english languages. The list of supported languages for all EPM System products is included in the Oracle Hyperion Enterprise Performance Management System Certification Matrix, posted at http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/bi/hyperionsupported-platforms.html. Installation Information This release is intended for new deployments only. Upgrading or migrating from previous EPM System releases is not supported. In addition, products from this release are not compatible with products and applications from previous releases. There have been significant changes to the deployment architecture for this release. A brief summary is provided here but for a complete list, see New Features and General Installation Information in the Oracle Hyperion Enterprise Performance Management System Installation and Configuration Readme. The EPM System directory structure has changed significantly. The default directories are now Middleware Home and EPM Oracle Home. EPM System Installer now installs WebLogic Server (replaces Apache Tomcat as the embedded Java container) and Oracle HTTP Server (replaces Apache Web Server as the embedded Web server). The manual deployment process is greatly simplified, using the Fusion Middleware Configuration Wizard (deployed with WebLogic) to manually deploy Web applications. The Shared Services relational database is now used as Native Directory (replaces OpenLDAP as the central storage for native EPM System user accounts and provisioning information). The new Foundation Services Web application is deployed to one managed server and includes these Web applications: Shared Services and EPM Workspace. Known Issues The following issues are the noteworthy known issues of this release. If you are working with the Allocate Simple or the Allocate Level to Level system template in the the Template Wizard, the rounding option step enables you to enter a member, variable, or function. The rounding option should only enable you to enter a number or a variable (9552336). If you are working with the Allocate Simple or the Allocate Level to Level system template in the the Template Wizard, if you specify only one member in the Source tab, then the rule will not validate. To avoid this, be sure to have 2 dimensions from which to choose members in the Source (9572150). 2

If you are working on a Windows 2008 64-bit server and using an Oracle 11g database, you may be unable to deploy Financial Management Classic applications from Calculation Manager to Financial Management (9556458). You may receive the error message, "Error: Index: 1, Size: 1" if you paste a component after expanding or collapsing a loop or condition component. To work around this, use Ctrl+Shift+E to move the component within a loop or condition to the end of the loop or condition. To paste a component in the Else part of the condition, use Ctrl+Shift+I (8894789). If are using screen reader software, and you create a numeric variable, when you focus on the tree view for the first time, the first cell is not highlighted, though the screen reader software reads it correctly. To work around this, use the left arrow key to select the first cell (9045890). If you are using screen reader software, the home element (that is, the first item) is not highlighted when you open any of the grids or trees, unless you already made a selection. The implicit selection (which is always the home item of the grid or tree) that is made when the grid or tree is focused is announced by the screen reader software as not selected, which indicates that the implicit selection is not highlighted. Also the action item (i.e. press the space bar to make the selection) for highlighting the home item of the grid or tree is announced (9069402 and 9109633). To read a script using screen reader software, you need to copy the script to an alternate text editor (8860666). If you are using screen reader software, when you open the Rule Designer or the Template Designer, the screen reader software reads out 10%, 20%, and so on, which indicates that the page load is in progress, even after the module is completely loaded and a confirmation message is announced (8866203). If you are using SCREEN READER software, when you press Shift+F10, the context menu is displayed and the software reads, menu/context menu. The action item (that is, pressing Shift+F10) is not read. This is read only when you select the first item in the context menu (8865068). Where JavaScript is used to synthesize a new control or change the behavior of a control (such as to cause automatic activation on a selection in a list or combo-box), this behavior should be documented. These controls in Calculation Manager are synthesized: 1. In the Rule Designer: Sharable Component (Formula/Script), Properties Pane: Selecting/Deselecting the Shared check box enables/disables the Name field. Formula Pane: Selecting/Deselecting the Member block check box enables/disables member block text field. Member Range/Data Range: Selecting a variable using the variable selector enables the Link variable dynamically check box. Template Wizard: A change to the value of a prompt can enable/disable the Back, Next, and Finish buttons. Script Component for HFM, Properties Pane: Selecting/Deselecting the Embedded check box disables/enables the Parameter text field. Variables: Providing a default value to a variable enables the Is Hidden check box, if applicable. 3

2. In the Template Designer: DTP Grid: Changing the type of design time prompt displays options like Dependency/ Define Input/Define Limits in the third and fourth columns. It also displays different options to enter default values based on the type. Selecting/Deselecting the "Is Prompt" check box enables/disables the Readonly and Mandatory check boxes. Template wizard designer: Choosing a step other than the first one in steps combo-box, enables the Condition grid. Formula/Script/Condition component: Selecting/deselecting "Use design time prompt" enables/disables the Condition grid. 3. In the Variable Designer: Replacement Variables: Changing the type of a variable modifies the Value grid (that is, the number of columns vary based on the type of variable). Replacement Variables, Planning/Essbase: Selecting/Deselecting the RTP check box in the value grid enables/disables other properties like Limits and Use last entered value. Execution Variables, Planning/Essbase: Selecting/Deselecting the Array check box for a variable enables/disables the Dimension combo-box. 4. In the Ruleset Designer: Variables: Providing a default value to a variable enables the Is Hidden check box, if applicable. 5. In the Component Designer: Properties Pane: Selecting/Deselecting the Shared check box enables/disables the Name field (8920063). When you create a Planning variable with a global scope and save it, expand the Essbase node in the Variable Navigator, then return to the Planning node, select Global variables and highlight the variable you created, the RTP option may be gray and unselectable. To work around this, close and reopen the Variable Designer, expand the Planning node, select Global, then select the variable you created; the RTP check box is not gray (9455420). If you are working in a Mozilla Firefox browser with a custom-defined template that contains a script component, and you add a design time prompt to it, then save the custom-defined template, when you select the script component, and use the Delete key to delete text, only the design time prompt may be deleted (7429301). When you are using the Allocate Simple template, have shared members within the allocation range, and you are using Define Round Member as the rounding option, the total allocation is calculated incorrectly with the values of the shared members, so the rounding member is the wrong number (9082851). If you are working in a script component or in script mode, when you copy, if you press the Enter key, the script displays on one line only. To work around this, save the script after you copy, and then press the Enter key, and the script displays on multiple lines (9315807). 4

When you are using screen reader software, and you are creating a new numeric variable in the Variable Designer, the Tab key may not navigate to the Allow #Missing check box (8942466). When you are using screen reader software, after you drag and drop a formula component into a Rule Designer flow chart, you may need to press the F2 key twice to use the Member, Variable, or Function selectors (9098788). If you create an application level variable of the member type, you may not be able to enter limits for the variable (9241359). The option to specify the number of decimal places in the Allocation template wizard, on the Rounding tab, should be an entry option, not a Member, Variable selector (9354429). The option to enter a source amount instead of an expression to be allocated in the Allocation template wizard should enable the Next button, but it does not. The Next button is only enabled after you select dimension members (9354353 and 9354340). General Application Design Issues If you create a graphical business rule with components, you can convert from graphical to script mode and from script to graphical mode, but if you remove any comments in script mode, you may not be able to convert from script to graphical (7133648). Oracle Hyperion Financial Management (Financial Management) Application Design Issues The Complex Consolidations template requires more detailed usage instructions (8559581). For the IFRS Sample application, you should load the "df_data_2006_ss_gw_mc.dat" and "df_data_2007_ss_gw_mc.dat" as test data files instead of the "df_data_2006_ss_gw.dat" and "df_data_2007_ss_gw.dat". To correctly reference the variables defined in Financial Management system templates for Calculation Manager, import the Global_Variables.xml file before you use any of the system templates in business rules. The Global_Variables.xml file is in \Sample Apps\Templates. In order to use the system templates provided, you must first load the corresponding system variables to the application. To load the variables for the <Global> folder, right click on the Global folder and select load system variables. Variables in the <Global> folder are available for all applications. We recommend that you right click on the specific application folder (such as TEST1 below) and select Load System Variables so that the variables are local to the application and any changes will not impact other applications. 5

Oracle Hyperion Planning (Planning) and Oracle Essbase (Essbase) Block Storage Application Design Issues You can migrate custom-defined functions and macros to Calculation Manager only if Business Rules is installed and configured, and the application from which you are migrating is a Classic Planning application that has been upgraded to Performance Management Architect (7141171). If you create a Calculation Manager business rule with nested components (for example, a formula component within a condition component) in a Mozilla Firefox browser, and try to remove a nested component from its parent component by dragging it, you may be unable to move that component, or any component, within the flow chart. To work around this, use Copy/Paste instead of drag and drop (7154795). In the Copy Data template, on the Copy From and Copy To tabs, a member or function is the only correct selection for the prompts. If you select a function or use Add Special for these prompts, business rules using the Copy Data template do not validate (7140500). Planning Application Launch Issues You cannot launch a business ruleset with runtime prompts from the Planning command line launch (7205464). Only administrators can use folders to assign and manage access permissions for Calculation Manager business rules on the Business Rules Security page in Planning Web. These folders are not available to other users (6740767). Oracle recommends that you redeploy all business rules if you add variables at different levels that have the same name (7483578 and 7305657). Defects Fixed for Financial Management, Planning, and Essbase in This Release The Aggregation system template may produce incomplete aggregattions, though the template is set to full aggregation (7513657). Sometimes the Save button on the Calculation Manager toolbar remains activated after you click it (9123003). 6

If you change the selection of members on the Member Range tab, those changes are not saved when you switch from graphical to script mode and back to graphical mode (9026228). Large calculation scripts may cause Calculation Manager to hang (8600956). Calculation Manager generates hidden, unnecessary 404 HTTP requests for files that do not exist, which creates unnecessary work for the Calculation Manager server (8587436). When you are viewing a business rule in script format, the cut and paste and copy and paste functionality may not work consistently in Calculation Manager (7523078). Defects Fixed for Financial Management in this Release The Change Ownership feature is not available for Financial Management (8922361). Defects Fixed for Essbase in this Release Calculation scripts validate inconsistently in Essbase and Calculation Manager (8800397). Defects Fixed for Planning and Essbase in this Release You cannot change a variable s limits after you set them. If you select the RTP check box and add runtime prompt text in a variable, then work on another variable, when you resume work on the first variable, the RTP check box is no longer selected, and the runtime prompt text is corrupted with slashes (8871417). If you use wildcards in the parameters of the Function @Match, the wildcards may not validate (8587614). Business rules of the Saved Assumption account type may not validate against Enterprise Performance Management Architect, but validate successfully against Planning. This happens because, when you create an account with the account type property of Saved Assumption (with a space) in Enterprise Performance Management Architect, then deploy the application to Planning, Enterprise Performance Management Architect saves the account type property as SavedAssumption without a space, while Planning saves it as Saved Assumption with a space. To work around this, create the user-defined attribute, Saved Assumption, in the Enterprise Performance Management Architect application library so when you use a saved assumption in a business rule, the rule validates against Planning and Enterprise Performance Management Architect (8526160). If you have a business rule that contains an @LIST function with more than one argument, the @LIST function may not validate (8259116). 7
