Telecommunications are becoming faster and faster. But who ties all these connections together? Langmatz develops and manufactures infrastructure components for broadband networks. Telecommunications are indispensable in today's world. We take functioning communication channels for granted. Everyone is dependent upon the assured provision of trouble-free processes in the economy and in the infrastructure of cities and communities. We have a major stake in all of this. Our efforts go unnoticed by most, and yet we are constantly there for everyone. We offer a comprehensive and innovative product portfolio for broadband expansion, ranging from the central office all the way to within buildings. Numerous future-oriented projects have made us the leading partner, manufacturer, and supplier of FTTx products. Main optical distribution frames, manholes, above-ground and underground distribution systems, building cable entry systems, fibre termination points, and much more are the innovative technical systems with which we ensure network functionality and reliability. This is how we are able to place an intricate optical fibre management system efficiently in robust plastic and metal cabinets. All these intelligent solutions are how we support global networks via fast information superhighways. Simplified architecture for an FTTB/H infrastructure using the complete solution from Langmatz 3

Central office optical distribution frame CO-ODF The CO-ODF comprises the assembly frame containing the splice and patch sub-rack assemblies, as well as the cable riser frames for cable management and excess cable length management. Fibre optic cables can be fed in from both above and below the rack. The cables are routed within the system via the cable risers and the channels in the base of the frames. Connections are made between fibre optic line cables and system cables in the splice and patch assemblies. CO-ODF Splice sub-rack assembly in the CO-ODF On the splice side, the cassettes are housed in fully enclosed assembly trays. Here, the fibres of the incoming or outgoing fibre optic cables are spliced directly to pigtails. The basic dimensions of the assembly trays are 530 x 122 x 280 mm (WxHxD) and they fully conform to ETSI mounting standards. The assemblies are mounted in the rear of the cabinet, ensuring unimpeded access to the cables, which are routed along the side of the assembly tray. Splice sub-rack assembly Patch sub-rack assembly in the CO-ODF In the patch sub-rack assembly, the pigtails from the splice sub-rack assemblies are laid to adaptors in the swivel patch cassettes. Patch cables are used to establish the connections between line and system cables, for example. The assembly tray is a fully enclosed housing with a drawer and front cover that can be removed without requiring tools. Inside, there are hinged patch cassettes for SC, LC and E2000 adaptors with cable routing elements that ensure minimal bend radii when cables are laid. Patch sub-rack assembly Advantages Langmatz assemblies in the CO-ODF High density patch assembly Pairing of splice and patch assemblies, handling up to 96 connections Suitable for SC, LC and E2000 adaptors/pigtails Fibre management in the assembly tray and splice cassette Entry port for bundled loose tube fibres in the splice section Cable entry (patch cables/pigtails) without threading Modular expansion options for both patch and splice assemblies Basic housing with drawer functionality and removable front cover 4

Polycarbonate manholes Langmatz polycarbonate manholes are used in different versions as cable draw manholes, telecommunication distribution points and underground distribution systems. They are a durable and flexible alternative to concrete manholes. Advantages Area of application These manholes are especially suitable as cable draw manholes telecommunication distribution points underground distribution systems Low inherent weight Major advantage during transport and handling. Easy delivery to difficult-to-access job sites, e.g. railway lines or inner city areas Easy installation No heavy transport or lifting equipment required QualityBox: Cast iron manhole cover Modular construction Manhole heights and pipe connections can be varied by combining frame modules. Build on top of existing pipe ways Easy incorporation of existing pipe routes through open side section in combination with accessories. Very easy handling thanks to the light weight of the frame Product advantages Continuous height and gradient adjustment Predefined break points for custom fit pipe connections Sealing elements for cables without conduits QualityBox: Concreted manhole cover Stability High-quality polycarbonate is used to achieve maximum stability with low net weight Optimum integration into the surrounding soil Hot-dip galvanised steel frame for mechanical protection of top edge Range of manholes Test class DIN EN124 A 15, B 125 or D 400 Cast iron Concrete-lined Paveable QualityBox: Modular design 6

Access protection for manholes Access protection prevents unauthorised access to manholes used as a communication distributor, via several safety levels. Various manhole covers are possible for this, e.g. paveable, cast iron, etc. Access protected manholes Technical data The basic version consists of a stainless steel cover positioned in a stainless steel frame below the standard manhole cover (concrete-lined, paved or cast) and connected to the frame using a semi-profile cylinder via a 4-point locking mechanism. The system is sealed so that no liquids can penetrate High mechanical strength for the access protected manhole: The access protected manhole shows no damage in a drop test using a heavy concrete cover: Cover fall height 1 m, weight approx. 100 kg Predetermined breaking point technology on the lifting handles prevent forced removal of the bottom of the cover since the predetermined breaking points on the handles will break first. The next safety level is reached through the installation of an optical sensor. The frame of the access protected manhole can be placed at the desired height by means of a base frame Access protected manholes Supply unit: Accessories: Cover with frame, completely installed Sealing kit for sealing the frame of the access protected manhole against the manhole wall Access protected manholes light Technical data The light version consists of a stainless steel cover positioned in a stainless steel frame below the standard manhole cover (concrete-lined, paved or cast) and is connected to it with a semi-profile cylinder via a 4-point locking mechanism. The next safety level is reached through the installation of an optical sensor. The frame of the access protected manhole can be placed at the desired height by means of a base frame Supply unit: Cover with frame, completely installed Access protected manholes, light Locking mechanism (open) Access protected manholes, light Grating inserted in frame 7

Optical distribution frame (above ground) The optical distribution frame was designed for use in an outdoor cabinet made of polycarbonate. The optical distribution frame from Langmatz can be used at outside locations for low-cost network distribution where external conditions (the nature of the substrate, space constraints, etc.) mean that a manhole using fibre closure technology is not an option. In addition, the optical distribution frame can also be set up inside a building without a housing being required and with a compact pedestal and base plate. The optical distribution frame can be used for a Gigabit Passive Optical Network (GPON) and for Point to Point Ethernet (PtP) technology in the fibre optic access network. Dividing the inside of the cabinet into a level for fibre optic cassettes and a micropipe level offers the best possible support for all installation steps. Single and multiple fibre cassettes are available for managing the optical fibres. As an option, multiple fibre cassettes with passive optical splitters are possible. The micropipe management system ensures orderly management and a high level of operating comfort when inserting the fibre optic cables. As an option, the optical distribution frame can be integrated in a Langmatz optical network management system, with a connection to a central network management system. EK 245 ODF EK 30 ODF Mini 8

Front working level Optical distribution frame The front working level contains the cassette system for the single and multiple fibre management system for distributing and storing the optical fibres from the central office and to the networked buildings. When the system is used for GPON, passive optical splitters are installed in the multiple fibre cassettes. Rear working level Optical distribution frame The rear working level contains the micropipe management system for the organised management of the micropipes and the entry port and strain relief of the fibre optic main cable from the central office. The fibre optic main cable can be inserted and held in the optical distribution frame as a microcable in micropipes or as a standard cable (that can be laid underground). 9

Optical intrusion detection sensor EK 333 For the monitoring of manholes via a sensor and an analysis unit connected to software in the central office. Introduction The reliability of communication networks is of great importance for the economic development of all companies. Comprehensive control and monitoring of network infrastructure access significantly contribute to network security. The optical manhole monitoring unit is used for the early detection of external interference and immediate initialisation of countermeasures. The status of the optical intrusion detection sensor (open/closed) is permanently queried via an optical analysis unit in the central office according to the OTDR measuring principle. The attenuation strength and the reflection of the light is compared to a reference measurement. Optical intrusion detection sensor Disruptions in the optical distribution frame usually have negative effects on sensitive customer services such as triple play, cloud or highly secure data centre solutions. Network malfunctions can have serious influences on customer satisfaction, in particular in the area of IPTV. Possible causes of disruptions via external influence include: Unauthorised opening of the manhole Malfunctions in the line from the central office to the optical distribution frame Wilful destruction of the manhole via vandalism, criminal activity, or terrorism 23
