The CPU6501 is the controller module for 6500 Series RTU. It is based on powerful ARM Cortex A8 MCU running at 720 MHz together with 512MB RAM and 512MB flash memory. Combination of CPU6501 and IO modules (DIM, DOM, AIM, AOM, etc.) can be installed in 8, 12 or 16 slot 4U size rack. Up to sixty four IO and expansion modules can be connected to one CPU via RS485 port. The CPU can perform complex digital and analog data processing, logic functions and handles communications interface with master SCADA, Intelligent Electronic Device (IED) and IO modules. The CPU supports simultaneous and redundant wired and wireless communications such as Ethernet, Serial RS232, RS485, DSL/ADSL GPRS, GSM, 3G and LTE. Major communication protocol such as IEC-60870-101, IEC-60870-104, Modbus, DNP3, and SMS are supported. Other protocols such as IEC60870-103 or IEC61850 can be supported as part of customization. There are built-in IEC61131-3 standard programming languages, historical data logging and retrieval, diagnostics, system log, web interface, network, and security applications. The OS features embedded programming environment allowing customized application and protocols to be easily added. For high reliability and availability system, two CPU can be configured to work together in fault tolerant or hot standby mode. REV1.0 3
For mission critical, high reliability and availability application, two CPU can operate in redundant configuration in either hot-standby or fault-tolerance mode. The CPU6501 is certified to IEC mechanical, atmospheric, electrical and EMC standard. It is suitable for indoor, outdoor installation and within harsh environment. Software and Application The CPU6501 runs on Linux OS. The RTU has built-in, browser based WillowLynx web application (WebRTU) for modules configuration and maintenance. WebRTU has features for data display and logging, error log, user account management, system status reporting, and diagnostics. Network and security features such as NIC teaming, IPsec, VLAN, Access Control, SFTP etc. are standard.
