Disaster Recovery as a Service Heart-stopping IT failure. At least your business won t skip a beat.

02 delivering business agility 03 Flexible, cost-effective DRaaS made simple Enjoy rapid recovery following a range of disasters It s a fact of life that disasters are more common than you might imagine. One in three businesses has reported one in the last five years and sadly the threat of outages due to system failure and ransomware attacks is increasing all the time. But with us as your trusted partner, you can protect your entire IT environment simply and cost effectively. Our fullymanaged off-site DR service will make sure your business gets back up and running quickly, even when the unthinkable happens. The real beauty of our DRaaS offering lies in its flexibility. We realise that not every organisation or service requires near zero recovery times, so you ll be able to manage the cost of protecting your different services, depending on their business value. ower failures Hardware failures Network outages Software failures Does your disaster recovery strategy make these mistakes? X Uses manual failover and failback procedures? X Fails to meet your ever-tightening recovery SLAs? X Disrupts your production environments when testing? X Keeps you locked into a particular vendor technology, inhibiting change? Human errors Ransomware attack Stolen services Fire/flood With roact, you ll be able to: Rely on rapid, automated recovery Deliver recovery point objectives (RO) of seconds and recovery time objectives (RTO) of minutes Test recovery without affecting performance Work with any storage provider and multiple hypervisors We needed a partner and a relationship that could evolve with us. roact offered that and it was in stark contrast with alternative options in the market, which purely involved selling equipment. That s been the key valuable criteria in the relationship that we ve got. Chief Executive Law firm

04 delivering business agility 05 05 What is Disaster Recovery as a Service? Disaster recovery as a service (DRaaS) enables you to continue to run your IT applications and services, even after a natural or man-made disaster, such as a power failure, network outage or ransomware attack. How it works We work with you to classify your services, in terms of criticality, technology and cost, so that we can help you achieve the right service level agreement for disaster recovery and at the right price. We can then protect your services with our DRaaS products that you can read about on page 6: active DR, physical or virtual machine recovery or dedicated storage replication. We can also provide a secure backup services for services that don t need DR recovery. As standard, our DRaaS includes regular DR tests, to make sure it will do what it s supposed to do, should disaster strike. And, if the decision to invoke disaster recovery is taken, your users will be able to gain access via an Internet dial-on-demand connection to our remote VN, or virtual private network. This means that your staff will be able to dial in to your critical business systems from any location, even if your site has been rendered unusable by the disaster. You ll also be given access to a dedicated help desk, should any issues arise. your users HQ offline replicate DRaaS Active DR Standby DR Why not just use backups? Backup is a critical first step towards data preservation and restoration. But you shouldn t rely on it for disaster recovery. Many don t. And all that work to back up your data will be for nothing when there is nothing to go back to. To truly protect your data, you need somewhere to store it and some way to recover it, should your systems go down. online Under normal conditions, your backup is protecting your data. But what would happen if you lost access to your production environment, due to hardware failure, human error or some other disaster? Would your business survive? This makes DR a necessity, not a nice to have. Because otherwise you run a big risk that a single event could put you out of business. This means dedicating a recovery environment solely for this purpose. This means assigning a team, the right technology and a testing strategy. 06 07 Why roact? Benefits We understand that every organisation has different needs. So we ve designed our DRaaS offering to be flexible around recovery speed and cost. Our DRaaS allows you to protect your services according to their business value. So you ll only pay a premium to ensure near zero downtime for critical services. For less critical applications, you ll be able to assign longer recovery times and this protection will cost you less. It s this flexibility that makes our DRaaS offering even more cost-effective. Because you won t have to pay premiums to ensure almost instantaneous recovery times for services that don t need them. Our DRaaS products hysical and virtual machine recovery We can recover your virtual or physical machines to any point in time, with a service tailored to meet your recovery objectives and environment complexity. You ll have complete visibility of your recovery point objectives (ROs), thanks to our simple dashboard. 30 day journal Minimise impact 00:00 06:00 09:00 12:00 15:00 18:00 Rewind and recover from any point in time Sites Apps s Files For ultra-critical applications and services, you can choose continuous data protection (CD), meaning near zero recovery times are possible. Alternatively, you can use SNA, as a more cost-effective way to protect less critical data. Greater flexibility for complex environments Choose the level of replication you require depending on your underlying architecture. We support all physical servers, virtual machines and storage arrays, allowing you to cherry pick the level of protection and RO (recovery point objective) you require for each. Application level replication is also available for services requiring deeper integration. Cost-effective No huge capital outlay on infrastructure. You pay via a monthly subscription. The ability to pick what you want to replicate allows you to protect what s needed and no more. This reduces storage and bandwidth requirements. Near zero RO Our technology doesn t simply replicate; if selected, it journals each change, delivering near zero RO (recovery point objective) and lightning fast recovery. You can also roll your machines back in time, to protect against ransomware, malware or corruption. Secure Since 1994, companies around the world have trusted us to protect their mission-critical data and provide them with the cloud services they need. When it comes to disaster recovery, you can be sure that your data is in safe hands. We use secure methods to replicate your IT environment to multi-tenant platforms in highly secure datacentres across the globe. We meet and exceed ISO27001 certification standards. Simpler to set up, manage, test and failover One automated service with a single service level agreement, rather than multiple toolsets and manual processes. Simple, seamless installation and easier to manage. No storage updates, hypervisor patches, OS upgrades or other configuration changes required. Should you ever need to, you ll be able to test or execute disaster recovery failover in a few clicks. Dependable Our DRaaS is powered by a high performance and fully resilient enterprise-grade compute and storage environment. This ensures that, should a disaster occur, your systems get the resources and performance that your business demands. We ve designed the architecture from the ground up for reliability, delivering no single point of failure and backing up with a robust service level agreement. Active DR For critical services, we can also give you the option to replicate and failover services at an application layer. Typically, this will require an active server (or servers) hosted in one of our datacentres. For example, we can host your Exchange or SQL nodes using DAGs or always-on volumes, respectively, to manage the replication and failover process. Dedicated storage replication We simply copy your site s storage volumes to our secure storage platform and DRaaS server farm. This allows rapid recovery using proven tools and processes. Hypervisor agnostic It doesn t matter what virtual machines you have, our DRaaS means that you ll be able to recover them quickly to any point in time. Service level agreements We guarantee the availability of our DRaaS with a service level agreement. In the unlikely event of replication stopping during recovery, we would pay you service credits. For your peace of mind, platform availability and DR testing is also covered by a simple and clear SLA.
