System requirements Any processor supporting SSE2 (such as Pentium IV) or better 512MB RAM or more Windows XP SP2 or later, Windows Vista, or Windows 7 / 8 IP network connection (broadband, LAN, wireless). At least 24 kbps is required for an audio connection. For a video connection, the recommended minimum is 128 kbps. OpenGL version 1.2 or higher Hardware support for DirectX 8 or higher Any standard sound card (full-duplex, 16-bit or better) should work with Jabber. Multimedia device requirements All microphones work well with Jabber. Note that some cameras have built-in microphones. Jabber works with most available web cameras.

Installation Open the URL that is provided to you by email. Example: http://www.visionsconnected.com/downloads Click run Click Next and follow the instructions during the setup wizard.

Click OK Click Close to complete the installation

Signing in Go to the Start Menu and select Cisco Jabber under the Programs/Cisco folder or right click at the Jabber icon in your system tray. Enter the username and password, provided by the VisionsConnected Support Desk. Check all the boxes required for Jabber to sign in automatically during startup. Click Sign in or press Enter

Making a call In the search field, type 76314506@57.67.148.177 and press Enter A video window will now appear on screen. Note: Use this same address for the Event on 3.09.2014 Receiving a call When someone calls you on Jabber, this dialog will appear: You can answer or reject the call by clicking one of the buttons. Click the X at the top right to ignore the call. This action won t be visible to the other party. Pop-up toolbar A toolbar with these buttons will appear when you move the mouse pointer over the video window: Self view see yourself on camera Camera turn your camera off Microphone mute when not participating. Speaker volume click to mute, or drag slider to adjust. Full screen use entire screen for video.

Presentation sharing share an application Numeric keypad use for tone-based input End call hang up Move the mouse pointer away from the toolbar to make it disappear. Settings On the Jabber control window brings up the Settings dialog. Network If you know that more bandwidth than the default setting is available, you may increase the bandwidth setting for better video quality. Video resolution The video resolution will always be the highest resolution available to you with the resources available. Quick setup This two-step dialog window pops up the first time you start Jabber Video and guides you through setting up your audio and video equipment. Step 2 provides an overview of expected outgoing video quality based on the available system resources. You can also access Quick Setup at any time by using the menu button.

Audio and video selection Speakers The drop-down menu contains all speakers and headphones detected by Jabber Video. To test audio out: Procedure Step 1 Click Test to play a test sound that helps you determine whether the speaker volume is right for you. Step 2 Adjust using the slider. Note that multiple controls exist for volume settings. If sound is muted, too high, or too low, you may need to check hardware volume buttons for your devices, or the system settings.

Closing Jabber Closing and reopening the control window Click on the X in the right corner to close the Jabber window while remaining available to receive calls. Jabber is now placed in your computer s system tray in the lower right corner of your screen. To reopen the Jabber window, double-click the system tray icon. Your current status will be displayed on top of the Jabber icon. Signing out To sign out from Jabber, for example to allow another user to log in: 1. Click the status button in the Jabber control window. 2. Select Sign out. 3. If your username and password are already pre-configured, click the Clear sign-in link to empty the fields for the next user. Exiting Jabber To exit the Jabber application completely: 1. Right-click on the Jabber icon in the system tray. 2. Select Exit. When you exit Jabber, you will also be signed out.
