Please do not put objects on scale prior to switching it on. If the scale is not being used for a long time, please remove the batteries. Clean the scale with a slightly damp cloth. DO NOT immerse the scale in water or use chemical/abrasive cleaning agents. Do not leave scale in damp environments. 1

Ounce - Negative Weight A new battery has already been installed into the battery compartment with the correct polarity set. Please open the back door of the scale and remove the plastic strip before use. Close the battery door. The LCD display will show as below. 2
Replacing the Battery Open the battery door in the back of the scale. Insert the battery (1 x CR2032) into the battery compartment according to the polarity indications marked inside the compartment. Close the battery door. The LCD display will show as below. NOTES: When the Lo symbol appears, the device will power off after about 2 seconds. At this time, you should replace the battery. Worn batteries are hazardous waste. DO NOT dispose of them together with household garbage. Please refer to your local council for information regarding the correct disposal of batteries. Button batteries pose a risk of serious injury or death if swallowed. Please refer to "Symbols and Warnings", page 1. Setting Units When in weighing mode, press the UNIT button. You will then be able to select between g, fl.oz, lb:oz, ml. (Default weight is g). Caution: When you finish selecting the unit, you may start to weigh according to the weighing procedures described later. If there is no further operation, the scale will turn off automatically after 3 minutes. Alternately you can hold the ON/OFF/TARE button down for two seconds to turn the scales off. Usage Regular Measurement 1. Place the scales on a solid, flat, level surface. 2. Do not place anything on the scale. 3. Press the ON/OFF/TARE button to enter into weighing mode. 4. You can start to weigh once '0' is shown on the LCD. 3
5. Put things in the middle of the scale. Weight data will be displayed. Measurement with Tare Function 1. Place the scales on a solid, flat, level surface. 2. Press the ON/OFF/TARE button to turn on the scale. The LCD will display the full screen first, then return to zero. 3. Put the container you wish to tare the weight of on the scale. The weight of the container will be shown. 4. Press the ON/OFF/TARE button. The LCD screen will display '0'. Note: if the weight is less than 50g and you press the ON/OFF/TARE button, the 'TARE' icon will not show. 5. Put the items to weigh into the container. The scale will weigh the items and the LCD will display the weight. 6. If you take everything off of the scale, the LCD will display the negative weight. 7. When displaying the negative weight, you can press the ON/OFF/TARE button again to clear the unit to zero. 4

When carrying out maintenance, please practice the following Do's and Don'ts. DO use a soft cloth to wipe the dust. DO use a wet soft cloth, dipped into water and wrung out to wipe dirt. Then use a dry, soft cloth to dry the scale. DON'T wash the device with water, or immerse it in water. DON'T use propellant, abrasive or other chemicals to wipe the dirt, as this can cause discolouration or malfunction. DON'T disassemble the scale.
